  1. Ok, I'll do that. Presume I can send them a cheque for the £10?
  2. Hi, I took out a loan in the early 2000's with HSBC who made it very clear that they would only grant the loan if PPI was taken out. I was clearly mis-sold. 2 months ago I completed the FSA PPI questionnaire and sent it back to HSBC, who in turn have responded and basically said thanks for the questionnaire but their records cannot find evidence of any PPI because due to Data Protection they may have destroyed files that are over 6 years old. Unfortunately, I no longer have any of the paperwork but do have the sort code and account no (HSBC) where they paid the loan to and took repayments from. Is there anything I can do or have they got away with it? I keep trying to call them on the numbers provided but the call always drops and can't speak to anyone.... Any help appreciated. Thanks, James.
  3. Thanks. Any suggestions on how I should structure the letter to CC?
  4. Hi, thanks for the welcome. Yes, it's showing on my credit report but only with CallCredit. The company name is Hillesden Securities. Full details are: Account type Hire Purchase Account number *********9000 0 Account start date 19/04/2004 Account end date 30/11/2007 Repayment frequency Monthly Date of default 11/07/2006 Default balance £ 0
  5. Hi Guys, I followed the steps outlined in this post, which can be found by searching this forum for - AKITCAPITAL-ignore-request-to-remove-default-by and sent the first 2 letters to Hillesden. They have come back with the following which makes no sense to me!: "Thank you for your recent letter regarding your request for information under Section 77-79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. I can confirm the duty to provide information to a debtor or authorised third party does not apply to an agreement under which no sum is, will or may become payable by the debtor. Further to the above, I can confirm that your account was paid in full on 3 July 2007 and we will therefore not be fulfilling the above request. I note that you have previously questioned the circumstances surrounding your account default and can confirm that the default notice would have been addressed to the address held on file by Direct Auto Finance Limited at the time. A stakeholder notice issued by the DTI in December 2006 clarified the issue of service of a default notice. Such a notice is deemed served if posted to the last known address. If you are able to demonstrate that you had moved house and notified Direct Auto Finance Limited of that move and the mailing address was incorrect I will be able to consider your claim. Please find enclosed the £1 fee received for your request." Any advise you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. I never received this notice and I never moved address. Thanks.
