  1. Right, Wonga happy for me to pay by standing order, so they're sorted. Have emailed PDE with my repayment plan again, but they've just returned to texting me the same message, "We have not heard from you regarding the outstanding arrears on your Payday Loan. Please contact us urgently on X. Regards Payday Express." They've now supplied me with a freephone number though... Speed Credit, nothing from them actually. I replied to the email where they claimed they "don't do repayment plans" and directly quoted OFT guidelines (thanks Jon!) Will see what they say. Repayment plan sent to Wageday Advance today as they sent me a reminder (this is due Friday). Will send repayment plans to the others before the weekend as they're due Monday
  2. Hey all, Got an email from Payday Express Friday stating that they cannot deal with account issues via email and that I need to call. I then got a text at 11am Saturday saying they MUST hear from me by midday. Considering I was working and didn't get the text til my break at 1, and their lines close at 1, I couldn't possibly call. I think I should just ring tomorrow Speed Credit sent me the same email I got from Toothfairy, claiming they don't do repayment plans and that I need to contact them to tell them when I can pay, but have to cough up by 4th, which is the day before I get paid. Wonga have STILL not replied to say whether or not I can pay by standing order. It's been a week since we arranged a repayment plan. I have their bank details, but need a reference so they know it's me paying. Anyone know what they use? Surname? Loan/Customer ID?
  3. First off don't panic! I have that amount of loans, as do many others so you're not alone. You should start your own thread rather than resurrecting an old one. Tell us who the loans are with, the amounts due and when they're due to be collected. If you don't know how many you have you really need to find out so you know exactly where you stand. Cancel your debit card, and if possible close your account and open a new one. Have you worked out your income and expenditure? Write down all your income, then all your priority debts such as rent, council tax, phone bill, utility bills etc. Then you'll know exactly how much you have spare each month so you can begin calculating repayment plans.
  4. Hey Jon, thanks for the info. I can't open the attachment on my mobile but will have a look when I get in from work. TxtLoan is sorted now, just waiting for Wonga to confirm their bank details so I can set up a SO. Payday Express are just ignoring me, I don't really wanna call up may have no other option. Toothfairy/Speed credit have basically said "we don't do repayment plans and you have til X to cough up... but we're gonna add £50." If I report them to OFT, I'm not sure where to start really. If I go ahead could someone talk me through it?
  5. I have a current account with Lloyds and they've done the unplanned overdraft thing a few times now. asmile, can the Barclays Cash Account be set up online? Do you know if they do credit checks when opening an account? May see about getting one for my wages to go into x
  6. Oh really?! I saw the advert for the first time last night and had no idea. They must be raking it in if they can afford to expand into the 12 month market. Have you seen the interest they're offering?! £20 on a monthly loan isn't bad, provided you pay it back after the month, but this 12 month scheme expects you to pay back double what you borrowed!
  7. New day, new news! -Txt loan: sorted and bank details sent - Wonga: confirmed they will freeze charges etc, just want confirmation I can pay by standing order - PDE no reply to emails, just keep getting the same text which reads "We have not heard from you regarding the outstanding arrears on your Payday Loan. You must contact us urgently now on ..." Should I bite the bullet and call or persevere with emails? - Speed Credit: no reply from speed credit themselves, but toothfairy who own them sent this: Loan ref XXX Dear XXX Thank you for your email. It is always advisable to stay in contact with your creditors to avoid additional penalty charges Loans are meant to be repaid in full. This is made very clear in the terms and conditions you agreed to with your ‘double digital’ signature. We cannot accept a payment plan. Please confirm when you will be making full payment to close your file. Please note payment of 359 needs to be made by 04.12.11 to stop this file being passed to third party Recovery Agents and fees being incurred. Thanks Collections Team Toothfairy Finance They've slapped on £50 and have given me til the day before I get paid to cough up. Considering 4th is a Sunday, the money wouldn't be received til my payday on the Monday anyways. I think it may be easier to repay this one than squabble. It'd leave me tight for Xmas, but if I negotiate repayment plans for my other creditors for January I should be okay. Seen as Quickquid, PDUK and WDA don't expire til December and tend not to negotiate repayment plans until they're overdue, I'd start repaying in Jan. Thoughts?
  8. Bit late for them to reply, but repayment plan with TxtLoan sorted! However, they refuse to give me their bank details, saying... Please note that we collect the payments from your card not account and its is your responsibility to keep us updated with your card details. Please make sure that you have funds available for us. Please be aware that this will be our last attempt and if you fail to adhere the repayment your loan will be sent to debt collection immediately. I've told them I'm currently awaiting a replacement debit card, so need their details. If I don't get them, Ivan would you mind sending me them via PM so I can just tell them I have their details and to confirm. Will let you know their reply first
  9. If it weren't for this site I'd be at a loss. I wouldn't know where to begin if I didn't have the help and support of you all. I really do appreciate every response, and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you, especially to asmilecostsnothing, ivansmagic and benibaby I agree asmile, I think Speed Credit may be difficult. I've not seen any success stories of people taking on Toothfairy et al., so it may be easier to try to pay up. I won't give in without a fight though!
  10. Thanks Ivansmagic, I have asked them to consider £134 and told them the exact dates the installments will be sent and their amounts. I've also said that if the offer is not acceptable to refer me to their collections department.
  11. I got this back after questioning their charges: Your loan amount was 100£ which you borrowed for 15 days and agreed to pay back 117£ on your due date, which was 3 days ago. There are no additional interests added to this sum, only what you agreed to pay back per Agreement. If you pay it by tomorrow, we are considering removing additional charges and the total amount would be 117£. If not, you are expected to pay back 218£, making partial payments each month. I don't want to turn around and say I know first hand by reading this forum they can freeze interest if they want to, but I don't see how it's one story for one person and a different story for others?! I'd love to know, but so far they've been relatively okay, I wouldn't want things to get nasty.
  12. asmile, I've already received an email from NDR. Sent a reply to them, Speed credit and Toothfairy finance but not heard anything back. Nothing from Payday Express. Wonga have agreed to my repayment plan, but when I emailed asking to confirm their bank details and to provide written confirmation they will freeze interest, I got no response. Asked TxtLoan again to freeze interest. Got this back; "We have frozen your intrest at 218£. As stated in my previous email we can consider taking off any additional charges if you pay back 117£ latest 22nd of November. To clarify all the sums and any additional questions you might have, I have attached your Agreement, which you agreed to when you took out your loan." If I could pay £117 tomorrow then that's my loan repaid! How on earth have they slapped on £103 when it's one day overdue?! The file she's attached won't open on my phone or laptop. I've been given a ticket number, so all these replies are from the same person. Shall I persevere or get a new ticket number to see if I can get through to someone else?
  13. So after numerous texts and emails already today, it turns out Speed Credit are Toothfairy Finance. And they're already getting nasty! All the progress and happiness I felt dealing with Wonga has just gone straight out the window. The other companies won't budge, and although their threats are only words I feel worse than ever Seen as I'm not getting anywhere with emailing Speed Credit customer services, do you reckon I should try contacting Toothfairy instead?
  14. I don't know what else to say to them in an attempt to get them to freeze interest, I've asked several times now
  15. I've been sending a very basic one along with my repayment plans. Nothing detailed, I've not mentioned any companies names, just something like this: INCOME £X PRIORITY DEBTS Rent - £X Council tax - £X (any others eg, phone, tv, internet) REMAINING INCOME £X OUTSTANDING DEBTS Name of company contacted - £X A - £X B - £X C - £X etc Total debt - £X
  16. Update from Txtloan, they've agreed to £28.75 a month but will not budge on the interest, so it'd be £103 more than my current outstanding balance. Any suggestions as to what to say to get them to freeze interest and charges? Speedcredit expires today, not a peep. Can only assume they are closed Sundays. Nothing back from Wonga regarding accepting payment by standing order. Still nothing from PDE.
  17. They won't refund your money. They'll just tell you that you signed a contract that agrees they'll take the repayment. Once they have your money, they won't let go of it. Is there anyone who can lend you some cash until you get paid? I'd hate to advise anyone to take out a payday loan after the mess i've gotten into. But as a last resort you could take out a new loan, then a few days before its due email them to tell them you're having financial problems and would like to repay in installments. You'd need to cancel your debit card though to ensure they dont wipe your account again.
  18. My current outstanding balance with Wonga is over £1000, but I just got them to agree to £80 a month. Stick to your guns. Tell them you are happy to pay your original loan amount plus one months interest (remind them what that equates to). Say wish to pay X a month, and ask that they freeze interest and charges during this time. Tell them you're already in an overdraft, and it would cause higher bank charges resulting in you being unable to pay back what you already owe. There are template letters on this forum you can amend to suit your needs, those may help if you're unsure where to begin. Send the same email to: collections @ wonga.com customercare @ wonga.com debtmanagement @ wonga.com Have you cancelled your debit card?
  19. I'm guessing a I&E form would suffice to show your debts exceed your income. How are you getting on? Any further progress?
  20. Hey guys, opinions on this? I offered Txtloan £28.75 a month, meaning the balance would be paid off in 4 months if they freeze interest. Got this in response: We are willing to modify your repayment details and agree that you can pay back the outstanding balance as follows: REPAYMENT PLAN: Date: 2011-11-30 | Amount £35.00 Date: 2011-12-30 | Amount £35.00 Date: 2012-01-30 | Amount £35.00 Date: 2012-02-29 | Amount £35.00 Date: 2012-03-30 | Amount £35.00 Date: 2012-04-30 | Amount £43.00 Total Sum: £218.00 We are not able to freeze intrest as the pay back time is too long. We might consider freezing intrest if you agree to pay back early next week, latest 22nd November. Please let us know ASAP of your choice. _____ For starters I can't pay anything til 5th December. And I don't understand why they can't freeze interest/charges??
  21. You are most welcome If you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying to Txtloan and how did you get them to agree to it? I've asked them for a repayment plan and the one they've offered is £10 a month more and they won't freeze interest
  22. Oh I see! Apologies! If they phone I'll answer, but as I say, I think it's withheld, so not sure if/when it's them?? Update/Summary: Wonga accepted, just want written confirmation they'll freeze interest charges. PDE due 2 days ago; sent plan, received one automated email saying it was overdue and many texts. Resent plan, received text saying they'd not had contact from me. Emailed them proof/copies of the 2 original emails and outlined plan a third time. Txt Loan due tomorrow. Plan sent. One automated reply saying they'd got my email and will respond ASAP. Speed Credit due Sunday, plan sent but nothing received.
  23. If they call your workplace they cannot disclose what the call is regarding to anyone but yourself. I had one call my work saying it was Sue and it was urgent. My manager was concerned I'd received a personal call at work, so I told him it was my bank. See if you can access your profile with them and change your work phone number maybe?
  24. Wonga agreed to my plan too, so smiles all round! One less thing to worry about and in your case, half way there Perseverance is key; tell them your plan and every time you receive an automated response refer them back to your original offer. Don't back down. Which email address are you using for them? Ivansmagic told me he had success using the chat function on TxtLoan's site. Give that a try. It may take a while but you can do it. Chin up!
  25. Very reassuring! It does appear debt agencies are more helpful and understanding than the original problem company. Were any of the debt collectors you spoke to for payday loans? How are you getting on with the rest of your repayment plans? Eve-Sophie, any further progress?
