Is the house sold yet? If not, then get past the tribunal as you suggested, and then a phone call to the council. They will give you an appointment to pop in and talk through your housing worries and you can take it from there. I'd be interested in hearing what they have to say and happy to support if I can. Hiya, You definitely wont get housing benefit if your brother is going to be your landlord. My advice to you is to go to your council and speak to their homelessness prevention officer. They will guide you through your options for renting elsewhere.

Fascinating thread - thank you folks! I have rossendales back in my life at the mo... nasty arrogant little man who tells me he is back on friday to remove my furniture .. we shall see. As a new one on here, Im just looking around, absorbing advice and when I find the energy, will post about it too.
