  1. Ah, looks like they're making use of their harvested list again. Interesting to see that so many CAGgers use different addresses for different sites
  2. As I said, that particular address was only used to register on these forums (back in November 2010). I wouldn't use need to use consumeractiongroup@*****.plus.com anywhere else, I'd use anywhereelse@*****.plus.com for that.
  3. I use different email addresses for different sites (e.g. for this one it's consumeractiongroup@*****.plus.com) so I can identify, if spammed, where my address has been harvested from. Look what I received today:- Yes folks, it looks like the email address list of CAG may have been harvested by spammers and sc ammers, because I doubt they'd just happen across that address by accident.

    Ebay

Unfortunately this is an all too common problem, and what seems to be common to all of the ones I've seen is Barclays. On another forum (which unfortunately I can't post the name of as the forum software is deliberately corrupting it) I've seen a list of over two dozen fraudster accounts, every single one of them is a Barclays account. eBay may not be totally blameless in this matter (they make it too easy for fraudsters to set up multiple accounts and are too slow to respond to fraud reports) but if the fraudsters are using Barclays instead of any other bank there must be something seriously (criminally?) wrong with their account vetting procedures.
  5. Judging by the junkmail they sent to my house earlier, HomeServe are nothing but ****. On the outside of the envelope (addressed to the elderly lady who used to live here), in big letters: Final Notification of 2010 On the letter, the first thing that catches your eye is the big red band at the bottom of the letter, urging you to call them. God knows how a pensioner would react to such a letter dropping through their letterbox!
