  1. UPDATE - To anyone with a broken camshaft problem. I complained to Vauxhall via my garage and after several weeks of providing them with evidence that my car was not a 'one off problem' and refusing offers that started as low as 30% my car was fixed and I didn't have to pay a thing. They fixed the engine completely free. A couple of days after getting my car back from the garage I received a VAUXHALL CUSTOMER REFIT NOTICE detailing the possible problem with camshafts on some models and asking me to take my car to be checked! Vauxhall have a new camshaft bolt package that is now made to a higher spec so it is possible that anyone who has had theirs fixed before this new spec kit came out may get the problem again.
  2. Hi Max, Thank-you for offering to help. I finally got 100%, but what a battle. Rose
  3. I was wondering, most reports of this failure seem to happen on a motorway or dual carriageway at around 65-70 mph? I know mine did. How can that not be a safety issue? Pitch black, freezing and a car dying in the middle of a lane?
  4. I am stunned, I have recently had the exact same problem! My Corsa is an 05, 40,000 miles 1.0, 5 door though, but exactly the same problem, regularly serviced, on time by the Vauxhall garage I bought it from. They say they have never seen this before and tell me that the car is basically a write off or 'uneconomical to fix' and what do I want done with it! Needless to say a little searching online and the clear extent is obvious and threads like this shows just how common this problem is. Now what do I do?
