well if u dont have the funds then this is your best bet. giving a further 5 days is a gesture of good will from you and if he spoils it, he can add on the court costs and 8% interest at the end of it ass kicking long overdue!

ooo sounds like u may get an earlier than most settlement! good for you (if this is the case!) in my opinion though, I would file with mcol now then send him the breakdown with added court costs by fax or recorded delivery today. You warned them they had 14 days before court action and if u deter from that they might think they can stall u for a while longer. as i see it, if hes already willing to settle then filing now will only ensure he knows u mean business when u reply to his request. otherwise, u could send the breakdown and not file and he could just think he can pop it in his in-tray for a few weeks til u wise up and file, thus forcing their arm. thats only what i would do but i think i have a good point lol.

As for spending, aside from the donation to this site and a cheap get-away deal for my 30th birthday in january. taking hubby and kids to disney paris for 5 days(only £400 - even with the cold weather Im thinking "BARGAIN!!". other than that though, Im sticking the rest in my savings account. Maybe boring I know but approaching the big 3 0 makes me think i should be acting a little more responsible with my dosh and never again letting snowball charges make me feel miserable about opening my statements lol. This money can prehaps make sure I never end up in this state again (i sincerely hope!) dont quote me on it or anything tho....

the most likely event is that when they recieve your breakdown (again) they will send u an offer to settle. u r nearly there! had my full refund offer this morning and their 28 days are up on tuesday for me so u aint far behind

WOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!! full offer of £3443.85 recieved in this mornings post!!! they havent added the daily interest since filing mcol. it comes to around £45. should i argue the toss or just sign and send back? ive had another £25 charge applied since as well...is it worth asking for it back in with the agreement? these total another £70 so i am tempted to argue lol. any suggestions?

its another stalling tactic employed by them (you know the routine by now lol) so yes, they have 28 days extra but as they have no real defense that would stand up in court, you can expect a letter from DG asking for a breakdown of charges shortly (ANOTHER stalling tactic) but once this is done the only avenue they have to stall is a part offer or full settlement. might sound like a long time but it will all happen quite quickly. Their only alternative is that they decide the would like to go to court afterall and explain how an automated system costs £30 a go. I'll eat my hat if they willingly do that lol. it wont be long now and u will be paud back. best wishes with it

not sure about 1st question but someone else on here will help with that. As for the "withdrawn" amount on statement, I believe that means money you have taken out of your account over the counter so that would not be claimable. hope that bit helps at least

Ive seen lots of threads about people making multiple claims against the same or various accounts in the same Bank and do so successfully. however, hsbc would most certainly close the account which is fine as u are prepared to do that anyways! in your shoes, i would figure the charges are just as unlawful as they were earlier in the year so i'd go for it!

Hi All, Not sure if this has been suggested before but I was chatting to my husband tonight about how poorly the donation situation is with this site. He wondered if Dave or BF had considered using google search or something very similar. With the turn over of hits this site gets it could really do wonders for helping with site costs, training for mods/helpers & expansion etc. A wonderful site such as this should be expanding to the demand and the admins do a supurb job so it baffles me why more people aren't passionate about helping others help themselves. There may be many reasons why Dave & BF aren't keen on this suggestion that haven't occured to me but if it does stir some interest, my hubby would be happy to help in any way. God knows we've (almost) gained from the info here and feel strongly that all the help to keep this going and growing is a must! Hubby is a professional puter geek (not his actual job title but amounts to the same) and feels if he could contribute in any positive way with his knowledge then he would be more than willing. of course, as mentioned before, you may have reasons for not liking this idea and may already have enough IT help/knowledge.

I rang DG this morning to clarify that they have recieved my breakdown of charges (i went against my own advice and didnt record delivery it...tut! tut!) Spoke to Julies voicemail and my call was returned by a fella whose name i did not catch. think he purposely said it all obscure so that i cannot make him my future point of contact anyhoo...he confirmed that they have recieved my breakdown and that they are sending out a letter today. Am hoping its a full offer but assuming it will be a part offer and that the saga will continue for a while longer. Ho-hum

Have now popped sar along with £10 cheque into an envelope and will record delivery it in the morning.
