  1. Hi, My Manager has just gone on leave for 1 yr. Her post was advertised internally for a 6 month contract. the internal email advertising the post came out on 5th Aug with a closing date of 12th Aug. it took 4 emails and 3 phone calls before the app form was eventually sent to me via email on the 11th Aug. i submitted the app form on time tho i only had one day to complete it. I then discovered that the post had also been advertised through a recruitment agency from the 3rd Aug.I was the only internal applicant and was interviewed last thursday. 4 other recruitment agency applicants were also interviewed. they did not have to go through the same application process as me and only had to submit a CV. the salary advertised on the recruitment website is lower than the salary paid through my employers. I recieved a call from HR this morning to say i had not been successful. There is nothing i can do if someone genuinely scored higher than me on interview but i would be interested in knowing if all is above board in the recruitment process. just 2 months ago, another person was promoted to another project and that post was not advertised at all. that person did not enjoy the post and requested to go back to her original post and there has been another person promoted within the team and once again that post was not advertised at all. Thanks for taking the time to read this and though i dont hold out much hope that i will have any legal recourse here but i look forward to your comments.
  2. will def be in touch with barclays but again i dont hold out much hope. thanks very much for your help Conniff
  3. Hi Conniff the debit card they paid to was cancelled at least a yr ago when i lost it. i was issued another card with completely different number but Wink are saying Barclays have accepted the money. am not sure if this means it has just gone into the account regardless of debit card number. also not sure how Barclays have accepted money into an account which has been officially closed. but well..... we are talking about barclays lol
  4. thanks sillygirl! have made an online complaint with consumerline. i am really annoyed about this but dont hold out much hope :-|
  5. hi all i am a member of wink bingo and on 6/6/10 i won £300.02. i made a withdrawal but had still not recieved the money in my account. i logged into live chat an hour ago and was told that the money had been paid to an account with a bank that i no longer use. they apparantly paid it into that account simply because they chose to. i had the debit card as a registered card but when i changed banks i just registered the new card and have been funding from that card for the last 7/8 months. the T&C say that they will pay into account that is funded from. i argued the point that they should have paid into the account i had used to win the £300+ but they say they didnt have to and its my fault for not asking them to delete the old card. i asked where in T&C it says you must tell them to do this and i was told it was a matter of logic and they expected people to know this. obviously i am an idiot because i genuinely didnt realise they wouldnt use the card i have been using for months. the problem i have now is that the money has gone into an account that was closed by barclays for being £500 overdrawn. i had letter from them saying i can no longer use the account. wink bingo are saying that the money was recieved by barclays. there is no way barclays are going to give me the money back! do i have a leg to stand on? more annoyed at wink staff tellin me to have a good day when i had just explained how upset i was! many thanks for taking time to read meecha
  6. hi everyone sorry for hijacking!! i recently moved to Ulster bank as i now live in Northern Ireland and no Barclays near me, i left my Barclays account open but but was overdrawn by £14, i hadnt realised and now i owe them £594 in charges. i had not told them of my new address but they have sent letters to it and nor did they know my workplace but are know phoning on daily basis, i have been off on annual leave and returned to work to find dozens of messages from them. my question is, how did they find out my new address and workplace number? the ulster bank knew i had a barclays account but not the details and only other official company who know my address are northern ireland electrcity. what about the Data Protection Act? have they found out my information legally? i am not currently on electoral register. many thanks for reading and once again sorry for hijacking! regards Meecha
  7. hi hope im not hijacking here but just wanted to tell about the probs we face at work. i work in a hostel for people who are homeless in northern ireland. there is a local health centre with 3 surgeries in the building but none of them will take our service users as permanant patients as we are temporary accommodation. this is despite the fact that a person can stay with us for a max of 2 years. we ARE able to get appointments but only as temp patients and that is ok but does mean they are not getting offered the additional services eg swine flu jab. most of our service users are chronic alcoholics who have serious underlying health issues but do not get offered the same service as permanantly registered patients. i personally do not think this is fair. is there anything that can be done?
  8. hi everyone JMW becareful with wonga, they will put interest on every couple of days! try to get written agreement (email) to put interest on hold. they added £57 to mine after being 1 day late despite telling me on phone that they wouldnt. DAYLIGHT ROBBERY! keep on at them! hope you can get it sorted! ROB, will speak with QQ and just hope they will send to dca, but how do i go about asking them for a CCA? i opened a new bank account today, couldnt believe how easy it was!! finally told a friend/colleague what has been going on, she is being really supportive and it feels great to finally open up about my problems. i have to say, if it wasnt for her, you guys and this site, i would not be feeling as positive as i am now. i can really feel that im starting to get control back for the first time in over a year and its an amazing feeling! i know its not over yet but i can finally see the light lol keep fighting everyone! please let me know how you are all doing x
  9. Thanks Rob! my QQ loan will default on 26th Nov, i know they will call me at work and am feelin reasonably confident in saying i cant talk at work but do you know how long they are going to keep trying to contact me before passing onto a dca?
  10. i have got an email from Keyes today asking me for a breakdown of incomings and outgoings, i have no prob with this and hope this means i can finally sort out a proper payment plan! still no calls from them and that just makes life much easier to deal with! i still have other loans outstanding an now am not sure if its best to deal with them all individually or whether to set up a proper debt management plan with someone......but who?? any recommendations??
  11. hey Spike good thing you getting a new debit card but reckon to be completely sure they dont get their grubby hands on your hard earned cash i would totally recommend you ask you bank not to authorise any payments. PDUK tried to on my account despite me having a new card. wish i could tell you that they dont call you at work but unfortunately they did call me a couple of times, only good thing is, they ask if you are free to talk, if you dont want to get into anythin at work just say you are not free, they will ask when they can call you, it may be best to tell them a time when you know you will be able to have a proper conversation and thats the time to say everything is to be via email/letter in future. they quickly passed my debt on to Keyes Whitlock who so far have stuck to the request not to phone good luck and keep us posted
  12. hey JM just checkin in to see how you are doin? not much change my end, had a flurry of activity with Keyes when i defaulted on PDUK and i sent email requesting only email/letter to deal with the debt which i fully acknowleged. they sent email asking how much i wanted to set up agreement for, i responded with offer then another flurry of txt's/emails telling me they were trying to call me. i emailed them back stating that i had previously asked them not to phone and reiterated that i am totally willing to pay the debt off but at a reasonable and mutually acceptable amount but will not enter into phone convo with them. that was 5 days ago and heard nothing since. you never know........i might actually have a peaceful weekend lol hope all is cool with you meecha
  13. hi, can anyone tell me how door step collections work in northern ireland? i have been told that bailiffs are illegal here but not sure what other rules apply that would be different from england, scotland and wales many thanks for any advice given
  14. hi sorry to hijack but can someone tell me how to start a thread? thanks!
  15. sorry, i dont know QQ bank details, might be worth asking that on another thread, seems be just you and me on this one lol. no reply as yet to my email to keyes, will keep you posted good luck!
  16. hiya JM i have emailed Keyes this morn saying i acknowledge my debt and would like the opportunity to to set up a mutually acceptable repayment schedule. i have also said 3 times in my mail that i will only accept correspondance via email/letter and cannot take calls. hopefully they will follow through with this! good luck with Wonga, hopefully you get someone nice to sort this out for you. i have heard nothing from them re debt of £0.00 lol
  17. Hi JM am glad you have got sorted with QQ and PDE, hope thats a weight off for you not sure bout Wonga, have to say i found the guy i spoke to really rude and unhelpful and that was just for £40. i have paid them off but i got a nasty email from them on fri threatening all sorts if i didnt pay them the grand total of......wait for it..... £0.00 lol i have mailed them back asking them to kindly sort this out. whenever i read threads about payday lenders there is always a lot about QQ, PDE,PDUK but not much about Wonga, maybe one phone call will be enough to tell you what they are gonna be like to deal with and if they are really unhelpful then maybe just stick to emails and tell them not to ring you. i defaulted on PDUK on sat and by time i got home from work and checked emails i had already recieved one from keyes whitlock. i am going to mail them saying i have every intention of paying this loan off but will need time and a suitable arrangement, hope it goes ok!
  18. hi there just an update about current situation. first tho, thanks to JMW69 for the reply, its really helpful to know am not alone. paydayuk have given me until saturday to pay half my debt (207) or they will pass on to Keyes Whitlock. i cannot pay it so can anyone tell me what Keyes first step will be and how long before i hear from them? also what is the best way to sort it out? i now have a new issue with Wonga, i thought my debt of £324 had been cleared on saturday, my wages had gone in my account but i discovered yesterday that they had made 6 seperate transactions and still left a debt of £43. i emailed them asking why as my wages had gone in and they would not have been able to take the other money if my wages were not in the account. i got a short reply telling me to phone the collections dept, i did this and got speaking to an exceptionally rude man who insisted that i did not have the funds to pay the rest of the debt. what was worse is that my bank froze my online banking because they thought i was being defrauded. the man at wonga said if i did not pay the £43 on the day (yesterday) i would get an additional charge of £40 put on my account. i had phoned from work and when i got home i sorted out my banking at approx 5pm and went straightaway online to pay the £43 only to find they had already put the additional £40 on except it was actually now £88 so they found an extra fiver from somewhere! i emailed them via the "contact us" bit on their site asking why this had happened and that i hoped their calls were recorded so i could prove i had been told the charges were not eligible until today. but no reply! i checked my wonga account this morning and found the debt had now gone up to £90! yet another mysterious charge! i could not get the opportuniy to phone them from work today and now i have come home and found they have just taken the whole £90 from my account!! do i have any rights about this?? interestingly enough i have not been offered the opportunity to apply for another loan lol
  19. hi i thought i was the only person with payday loan worries until i stumbled onto this seriously great site! i have been sick with worry but already from the posts i have read now know im not alone and that maybe there is a way out. i have 3 payday accounts paydayuk £415 quickquid £324 wonga (now paid) i cant afford to pay and have already rolled over, QQ were really nice and gave me a further month without additional charges but paydayuk are really harsh and to buy myself 24hrs to work out what to do i foolishly said i will go into bank tomorrow and pay in full. they have been ringing me at work and telling my colleagues who they are, giving ref No and telling them i need to contact them urgently which is really embarrassing. to get to the point, does anyone have any suggestions on what i should say tomox when they ring to find out why i havent paid?? they do not have my card details due to new issue debit card so they cannot just take money from my account..... can they?? thank you!!
