  1. Hi I am in a predicament and hope someone can advise me what to do !!!! I sent welcome the section 99 VT on 19 June, as i decided to leave the UK which was a last minute descision as i left on 20th June. I gave them an address & telephone number to collect. Told them i would insure until 4th or 5th July to give them time to collect, and i notified DVLA of them now being the legal owners via the V5. My son, called them as they did not collect, they said they cant as i need to voluntarily surrender, i said no as i knew this would give them reason to chase me for the balance. I called the Blackburn office & spoke to someone (have his name but not sure if i can post it), who told me that i had a default in 2010. I have never ever received a default from Welcome, nor have i had any statements from them. He insisted i had, and that it was on record. I asked him who signed for the letter, it was not sent recorded. To cut it shorter, he told me that they won't collect unless i voluntarily surrender, and it will just have to stay there until the police tow it away as uninsured and i get a fine for it. I have thought about my son taking it to their car park and handing in the keys. Can anyone advise? thanks

  3. it would be easily explained if i could get through, the letter was dated 9th got it 18th and had to reply by 19th, which was sat and closed, the number constantly engaged and when not ans machine to say leave a number they will ring officce hours, which i work, and they treating as if they correct if i dont reply so catch 22. ive emailed my mp as you cant reply if something is impossible to reply to, but yet they can stop my money if i dont reply. what a fab system we run eh !!!
  4. hi today i have had a letter pretty much the same, but not outright accusing, just saying that their information indicates another adult living at my address and it indicates im living as part of a couple. I really dont know what information they have and where from and they have given me until tomorrow 19th to contact them. I got the letter today the 18th though dated 9th. I feel sick!!! i am seperated from my husband but we are good friends just cant live together, he comes here regular to see our daughter and only lives across the road with his parents. If he does ever stay over to help out with her, its in the spare room ie during time when hes off work to take her to school. He is not on my electoral role and is on his mums. I have my account he has his. My son registered his business here before he left i october to get married, could that be it? i really am worried sick, its making me ill and i work in civil service so im scared to death of losing my job as i hear hmrc are guilty until you prove innocent, please advise
  5. doesnt show amounts just benefit and dates from and if they ended when
  6. the cis i have seen shows all the claims you have had and are getting, marital details. if your linked with anyone else ie someone is gettin carers allowance etc for looking after you, when a claim started and ended, address tel no previous ones sometimes. dates of birth/death, but other benefit departments ring each other to confirm thing also,
  7. the claim form does ask if the claimant has savings themselves over 16k so this could also be the case. It is usually recoverable out of the deceased estate and if the claimant is on pension credit and deceased had no estate should not be recoverable to my understanding.

  9. Hi I am in the same boat more or less, got loan for my son for wedding, he came out work, i couldnt afford it, and yes i know im responsible. I asked for a payment plan, they refused without even looking into it at all, said im not eligable as it was for my son. Took the payment on a lost card, which bank cleared as they used it before, left me overdrawn without a penny, are going to do same 6th feb and wont budge, i cant close account as other stuff uses it. They wont do any kind of plan, rude when you speak to them as though mean nothing, talk over you (Anthony Xavier), complaints dept agree with what they say, so catch 22, cant pay, gonna take anyway, make overdrawn and even more month after. I know i have to pay it and want to, but cant afford what they want. Im single mum with 6year old who had to borrow money for elec and some food, so goodness knows what i do on 6th feb when they take my rent money. Ive written complaint letter with all the emails of me asking for help within plenty of time before the payment was due, which they ignored totally until money became due and wasnt there. Addressed letter to managing director at address on debt-line website, it was undelivered. I really dont know what i can do. debtline says they cant take if speak to them and advise in trouble, they say they can and have done so must be able to. Any advise welcome
