  1. Many thanks for those kind responses, I,ll pursue the matter further on Monday, fingers crossed we get a good result!
  2. My wife passed away recently and I have been putting her affairs in order. I came across a Barclays partner Finance for £50 per month on an outstanding debt. I contacted Barclays and explained the situation, however they are insistent that the debt has passed to me as I was her husband. I objected to this as I have no prior knowledge of the debt and most certainly did not sign any contract with regard to this. Any advice would be gratefully received, it's hard enough coping with my bereavement without banks being so awkward and unwilling to help.
  3. Thank you Ell-en, No I don't recall any letter offering me the position or other information, i.e rate of pay, hours etc. Grotesque, I do have access to a company handbook containing terms and conditions and also policies and procedure files. I suppose I don't exist really!! it is concerning though because we have a new manager and she has just about disciplined all of the senior staff except me, all for minor breaches of policy or procedure if Im next in the firing line I want to be sure of any facts I may need.
  4. can anyone advise on the following, I have been working for a company for three years and to date have not seen or signed a contract of employment. I asked my manager why and she replied that a contract was left on my desk 2 years ago,! I asked for a copy but to date they have not provided me with one. I have my wage slips from 2011 still. Im just concerns that should I ever have to face any disciplinary issues I have no contract with which I can refer to. Many thanks
  5. Update to my post of 26 feb, although CitiFinance have agreed that they will refund me £800 for a misold PPI they have refused to issue the cheque because they say the address on the agreement does not match their records, I have received two further letters this morning saying that the complaint cannot be upheld because my current address does not match their records and then gives a list of confirmations of change of address and a whole host of other seemingly impossible information they need!! Surely if they have upheld the complaint that should stand, and why on earth a change of address, which I have confirmed with them, is not a reason to reject the claim or indeed not pay out for the claim!! exasperated is to small a word to use with these people, can anyone help or advise?
  6. Hi everyone, I have to attend a disciplinary hearing at my employers, they rushed out the letters to say that I had been suspended, (letter one) and that I had to attend a disciplinary hearing (letter 2) letter 2 states that the disciplinary hearing will be on 06/02/14, that's right 06/02/14, I presume they mean 06/03/14, shall I ring them and point out their mistake? both the letters were typed on the same day but came in separate envelopes in an attempt to conceal that letter one had been sent first, however the post mark (registered mail) on both are the same. I was suspended on the 18th, date on the letter states it was typed on the 20th, posted on the 22nd. Any comments would be appreciated.
  7. Hi folks, any advice on the following would be appreciated, sent a claim in to CitiFinancial for PPI refund, they have agreed to refund approx. £800. However they are now saying that they notice from their records that my address has changed. Ive very recently moved back home to my parents so cannot provide them with current bills, council tax etc which they are requesting. However I am positive that I gave my parents current address when I took out the loan for which the PPi settlement has been agreed. MY parents are willing to provide the details they requested with their names on them and written confirmation that I reside at their address but CitiFinancial are not accepting this! Any ideas on how to proceed anyone. Thanks
  8. Space Crusader, is it worth you looking at your insurance policies to see if you are eligible for legal advice and costs, even car insurances sometimes cover employment issues, mortgage insurance definately does, just worth a look might come up trumps. Even at this late stage you will find a law firm will be willing to help and it helps during your tribunal hearing to have somebody who knows the way round.
  9. Bombhead, Im going through a similar scenario at the moment, I can really sympathise with how you are feeling, The policeman would have looked for significant indicators such as times, dates, who, what and where. If he feels that the information is too sparse to be relied upon he will not persue it because there is no definate evidence on which to proceed. Your employer must also take the same route, although they do not have to be as specific and may make a judgement on the balance of probabilities it is good news and a bonus in your defence. The next step is now up to your employers. Good Luck.
