A long long way down the line since all this went on but I thought I would let you know what really happened back then. I was helping someone from work by looking at her debt problem and she used my phone, once, to call the company she owed money to, trying to make an offer of payment, which they refused. Following that I was getting calls for her, and they would not believe she was not here. Eventually a debt collection company, Lowells, got involved and they also called me, several times a day. I was not able to answer their security questions, or give a reference number and they refused to put me through to a supervisor. I wrote to Lowell, I got a solicitor on the job, and eventually the calls stopped. In the meantime, I found I was being slagged off on the Who Calls Me site by this Kacey character and I played the game a bit, but stopped when asked to by the site admin. I wanted to make a claim for defamation and, many months later, my solicitor advised that it would now be very difficult to prove any of the nasty comments even existed, as they've been taken off that site. I'm used to it taking an age for anything to be done, I work in the NHS, but this is over a year and a half ago now, and I only got the solicitors letter today. OK, so there may not be much I can do at this late stage, at least the ongoing ranting has stopped over there.

Golly, how many trolls are there over there now? As people have already said, I have not posted for some time and will not do on whocallsme.com as I have respect for the people who are trying to run that site. Some time ago I added a message over there about leaving it be, as there are lots of good messages about Lowell and how to find help here on CAG. I do not see the point of all the junk that has been added in my name, and others, but I am not about to retaliate or try and get their moderators to remove it every time. CAG has a role to play in putting Lowell in their place and is is dissapointing to see people wasting their time with the trolls on another site. I know someone is going to say that I am not the real Polly, despite the length of time I have been on CAG. It's not a new username. There are people in this thread who know the truth. I agree with what Hillards has put about the legality of these dubious companies, who make a small fortune with their tactics. I can only hope that 2010 will see some positive action in stopping them making money out of some people's misery. I also feel strongly about those who mis-use CAG to get out of paying for the sake of it, this site is here to help those who really need assistance in sorting out debt problems. It's just unfortunate that Lowell and others cannot see beyond the pound signs. Happy New Year to my friends on here and please, don't feed the trolls.

Hello from the real Polly! There have been lots of posts on the whocallsme.com board that claimed to be from me, but were not. I've stayed out of it for a while now as that place is not the ideal forum for discussion about the Leeds Losers. The site admin over there have done a lot of work to remove duplicated and offensive posts to return the thread to what it should be, 'who calls me' information and comments by people about what to do next to find help and advice. I've added a comment today to ask people to respect the site admin of whocallsme.com in not cluttering the place up with the ongoing slanging match, that should stop the troll from continuing if we just ignore him/her. Messages were sent directly to Lowell last week about the hassle, and informing them how their company name was being misrepresented on that site. Going by a post made recently, they may actually be doing something about it. 'Polly' may not be my real name, but would I be stupid enough to give Lowell, or anyone else, any information on a public site? The story has been posted here about how they came to have my number, let them dispute it if they like, but they hassled me for months until I got it stopped. I don't have any debt with them, but they choose to follow the company rules that they must have the right information ('cos it's an offence to pursue if they don't) and will call over and over. It's wrong, something needs to be done to correct these 'mistakes'. It's down to the Data Protection Act not working in the interests of the consumer yet again, Lowell and other DCA's will hide behind the DPA and refuse to talk to anyone who cannot give them a reference number and clear 'security' questions. They denied receiving letters and email from myself and my representitive, I didn't need the hassle and I'm simply repaying them for the trouble they caused by helping out here and there in pointing people to CAG. Having looked into the law, I think it stinks that they can run a multi-million pound business based on buying debts under an outdated law and using threats and intimidation to 'collect'. I am a community worker, it is in my own interests to know about these things to help those I come into contact with on a daily basis. Thanks to all those who gave support, but for the sake of giving the admin some peace, can we stop the whocallsme.com dialogue and kill the troll that way? 'Polly'

I got Cagbotted last time I posted, oh dear, they don't like me using smilies. Sorry CAG. My battle with Lowell seems to have ended. They stopped calling me and I can't even have a chat with Kacey on the other site as she seems to have stopped posting there. The only terminal thing I was thinking of was putting her on the Orient Express - one way! I will be back at some tim I reckon, just looking to see what the latest was about Lowell here, not a lot by the look of it. Hope everyone has a good 2009.

Hello! I've been a long-time browser on this site, and love what you guys do. I was the one who mentioned this site on the WhoCallsMe site and I hate Lowells. I don't owe them anything, they've never written to me, but I've had loads of phone calls from them. They've stopped now, thankfully. I work for the NHS so have just added a few notes in law for the wonderful Kacey.
