  2. Thanks for that chaps. He has spoken to company direct and they have advised him of the same thing. Payment in full or court action. He does not have the funds to do this. Can not pay online as when he enters his details it just kicks him out, so I would say the account is closed as it been pased to DCA. What next?
  3. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone can help. My brother owes £160 for a mobile phone bill. 1st credit are now chasing on their be half. He has offered to pay £20 per month but they are refusing to agree the payment plan saying their client's (telephone company) will only accepy payment in full or they will issue court proceedings. 4. Hi CB, Yes got all my paperwork sorted yesterday. Just got to pop in to court with my paperwork and the stat demand, swear an oath and away we go! Will keep you upto date. Smithy. X
  5. Hi there ElevatorFour, !st credit are becoming increasingly agressive with their tactics. I received a stat demand from them a couple of weeks ago. As a previous post explained its best not to ignore it as it will bite you in the arse. From the issue date you have 18 days to respond to it. You will need to apply to the court have it set aside. There is a form to fill out called Form 6.4 - Application to set aside a statutory demand and also in conjunction Form 6.5 - Affidavit in support of Application to set aside statutory demand. If you google these you will be able to download and print them off. Some advice on filling form 6.5 can be found on a sticky called debt collection agencies & statutory demands a few strategies. Debt Collection Agencies & Statutory Demands, a few strategies(1 Viewing). Not sure if that link i have put in will work, not the best with technology!!! It would also be worth requesting a copy of the CCA because if they can not produce it they will not be able to en force the debt. Hope this was of help. If you need any help with forms let me know. Will only be available today till 12.00 then back on line wed next week. regards, Smithy:)
  6. Hi CB, No problem. As I said its not a bad card. I know about ten people who are using them. They had a few teething problems initially but they seem to have gradually ironed them out. x
  7. Hi CitizenB, Just having a nose through some of the threads you started and noticed this one. I have just got a prepaid card and its pretty good. It costs £4.99 per month and you can use it anywhere. Details can be found at (edit). You can top your card up at any paypal location and pay money in at any Barclays branch. As pre paid cards go this is one of the better ones. It also provides a good sms service where you can just send a text to check balance or transfer funds between cards. regards, Smithy.
  8. Hi CitizenB, Fantastic, thanks again!! Smithy.
  9. Hi there CitizenB, Thanks for that info it has been a great help. I had a statutory demand land on the 14/05 from 1st Credit reference a Barclaycard debt. I have today sent a CCA request. How do I stand in setting aside the SD until I have received the info. as it could be past the 18 day period to have it set aside when I receive the information back from 1st Credit. Do I just need to state in the affidavit to the court I have requested this information??
  10. Hi All, Dont mean to hijack this thread but just after a bit of info. I have today sent a CCA request to 1st credit. What day do they have to respond by? am I correct in thinking they need to reply by the 6th June 2008. Sorry again to but in. PS This site is legendary. Keep on sticking it to them chaps.
  11. Hi All, I am new to this site so please bear with me. I took out a loan with Paragon back in 1999 for £15000. The debt was then sold to Arrow Global Receivables Management Ltd in 2007. It was then passed to CBS Transcom and now Copes solicitors are chasing a balance of £29800. I am requesting a Subject Access Request. I have the following questions if anyone can help:- 1. How long do they have to reply to my request? 2. Who do I send the letter to Arrow, Transcom or Copes? Thanks in advance. Any advice will be gratefully received as I need to sort this out its driving me nuts now!!!!:-?
