  1. What for do they have time limtis then? The dentist acknowledgeed the claim, has 28 days time and still after 6 weeks it is all right to put a defence into it? That means I can not trust that "default judgement" and have to prep. for a real court process with experts?
  2. Hi got a little problem. I sued my dentist for pain and ask for judgement by default. That was issued on the 28th of April. Yesterday came a letter from the Money Claim Online court that the dentist was asking to stop the judgement. I think it is too late now. However, the Northampton court decided to put the file to the local court. Do I face a court hearing now or can I ask the local judge to refuse her application because it came too late? What chances do I have.
  3. I am new to this. My friend got an "earnings order" because of unpaid council tax. He only found out 6 weeks ago and requested a full statement for the time in question. However, he never got the information required and instead they send an earnings order today to his employer. According to the bailiffs (tel. conversation) he paid everything. What can he do now?
  4. I got a cheque for the difference between 12 and 35 Pounds. On the cheque it states "not negotiable". Although I have written to them and told that I accept this as partly offer they have not replied but their own time limit. Is that cheque "not negotiable" binding and does that mean when I put it to the bank that there is no more chance to go to court for the rest of the money or is this not binding?
  5. I am trying to reclaim credit card charges from MBNA. They only paid the difference between 12 and 35 pounds back. If I push them through the small claims court how likely is it that I will win this? Do they have to disclose the real costs?
  6. I have been trying to open a bank account with First Direct. They deleyed this by 2 months and then telling me they want more details about my identity. They were unable to specify this. I had enough of this and put a compensation claim to the FOS. Shortly after this I received a letter from the bank declining my application on the grounds of bad credit rating. I requested this information but the bank refuses to make their decision transparent. I just got a credit card recently. So obviously they are not telling the truth. Can I claim compensation against this bank and force them to make their decision transparent? Thank you very much for your thoughts and answers.
