  1. Hi Myself and my parrtner are going to be made redundant in the next few months. Together we will have a payout of around £20,000. We want to use this money to clear ALL of our depts in full. By doing this will it stop a claim for housing benefit and council tax benefit??
  2. Surely they should hold some data, at least the application data?? If they don't how can they compare it??
  3. Definitely just sit tight and do nothing in my opinion!
  4. 'just a number of late payments' Could this be the problem!!
  5. It is against the DPA for them to store, process and share 'incorrect' data about you. Send them a letter advising you will take this further if they do not resolve the issue.
  6. Aktiv Kapital are a complete joke. Don't worry yourself over these idiot's, just deal with them in writing and go through the motions. Same happened to me and they recorded a default against my file for an account that I didn't recognise. I issued a County Court Claim against them in the end and they backed down and settled out of court. Don't put up with any nonsense from them, just do it by the book and use the law against them.
  7. They can carry out these searches if they have reasonable confidence that you owe the dept and that you are who they think you are. They should really only carry out a table 2 search if they are reasonably sure (this is only seen by you).
  8. They definitely won't be barred if they are CCJs. As the Court has awarded judgement they will never be barred, however the company would have to apply to the court again to enforce action.
  9. It will definitely have an adverse impact on your credit score. It is in effect telling lenders that you are currently in trouble financially, to the extent that another lender now has to make an arrangement with you as you are unable to maintain the products agreed terms of repayment. It's surely going to stop new lenders providing you with more credit, when you can't afford to pay for what you already have.
  10. There seems to be a bit of a theme here. I also applied to Lloyds TSB and was accepted, to find a few days later they closed the account and placed a CIFAS warning on my credit files. I wrote to the CEO and asked what had happened and received a response saying that I had given an incorrect length of time at my address to hide adverse data held at a previous address. I was furious with this as the Advisor never asked me how long I had lived there and on the application they told me she had entered 6 years and 1 month. I wrote to the CEO again advising that this was complete nonsense and demanded the incorrect data be removed. I finally had a response and they agreed to do this. I will post their response shortly.
  11. Has anyone received their data info after a SAR to N Hunter LTD. Was it useful and what was the format???
  12. Hi On your credit file with Experian is it marked as: 'Special Instruction Indicator' : 'Arrangement' ???? If so then yes this will be having an effect on your credit score as it's telling lenders that you have failed to keep to the products term's of repayment and as such they have had to agree a plan for the repayment of the debt.
  13. All I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the guys that supply the advice and information on this forum. I can now say that the advice is absolutely spot on and since my original post the following has happened: Red Dept Collection Services: HSBC Mastercard - £1221 - CLOSED AND WRITTEN OFF HSBC Current A/C - £5620 - CLOSED AND WRITTEN OFF Egg Visa - £670 - NO RESPONSE FROM DCA IN OVER A MONTH!! CapQuest Dept Recovery: Tesco Loan - £4500 - CLOSED AND WRITTEN OFF Littlewoods Catalogue - £630 - CLOSED AND WRITTEN OFF NatWest Mastercard - £1000 - CLOSED AND WRITTEN OFF Littlewoods Catalogue - £560 - CLOSED AND WRITTEN OFF I have now requested that the defaults be removed, will update you when I get a response.
  14. Guys can anyone help here. I have received a response to my CCA request to Thames Credit today and it states that as they are not the original creditor and they have purchased the dept they have no obligation to provide me with a copy of the CCA. They also state that they will continue with their debt collection activity. What should I respond with here or are they right in what they are saying??
  15. Thanks. What sort of proof should I request that they send me?? Will it be the same for the Littlewoods catalogue??
  16. Hi Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum, I am new to these. I have for years ignored my outstanding dept in the hope that it would go away and I could start a clean slate in years to come. Stupid I know but when it's all on top of you, you just try to brush it to the side. Anyway over the past week or so I have decided to see where I stand and what I have outstanding. The information I have obtained is as follows: Red Dept Collection Services: HSBC Mastercard - £1221 - Dept has been purchased HSBC Current A/C - £5620 - Dept has been purchased Egg Visa - £670 - Dept has been purchased CapQuest Dept Recovery: Tesco Loan - £4500 - Dept has been purchased Littlewoods Catalogue - £630 - Dept has been purchased Natwest Mastercard - £1000 - Dept has been purchased Littlewoods Catalogue - £560 - Dept has been purchased After looking on these forums I decided that I would issue a CCA request for all the above accounts and have done so yesterday via recorded delivery. Red Dept have sent me 2 letter's last week advising that they are not going to write with any more warnings about the HSBC accounts and the next communication will be a bankruptcy petition. Do they have to supply a CCA for all of the above?? And if they don't what will happen from here?? Thanks in advance guys I have a feeling I am going to need a lot of help to see all this through.
