  4. I've had these letters a couple of times. I just call up and set up an installment arrangement and that's the end of it.
  5. I'm thinking of going down the route of appealing by saying since on the 3 occasions I was continually not aware the road was restricted entry after 7:30am technically it is not 3 separate offences, it is 1 offence. Therefore the penalty exceeds the amount applicable in the circumstances of the case and I should only pay one of the pcn's.
  6. Hi, thanks for your reply. The signage was placed in a way I would not have looked when looking for an entry restriction. But in the letter the council have stated about another case where someone in the borough tried to say in court that the signs were not clear enough and that the judge did not accept that. my issue was that the sign was on the right hand side of the road not where a motorist would look. They have said the right hand sign is not the main sign and has only been placed as an addition to the left hand sign (there isnt a left hand sign Ive checked) and that they think motorists should not use signs as a way of working out if roads are restricted and should instead know their journeys restrictions beforehand. If that is the case then why have signs at all I wonder. I cant even afford to get my cooker fixed and Im driving to work trying to make an honest living and just get by and this happens.
  7. Im fuming. It just seems to me that car owners are one big cash machine for councils. Stick some cameras up and let the money roll in. I recently moved to a new area and started driving to work. Unbeknown to me one of the roads I was turning into on my way to work each morning at 7:30am has a time restriction in place that you cant turn into it after 7:30am. Its dark, its christmas , the streets are empty, no one was killed, no traffic was caused. But yet I have appealed against these tickets and am told by the council they are 'certain an offense has taken place' and I need to pay £390 thankyou very much. That is like almost half a months wages. For making a mistake that has harmed no one. Does anyone know how I can fight this?
  8. Hi, I find it interesting that you assumed I was a woman? I am actually a man. Thanks
  9. I have a question about the annual assessment for working families tax credits. I had a claim running last year that I cancelled in October as my earnings went above the threshold. I now have a form for annual assessment 2014/2015 and they are asking for my income for the full tax year. What I want to know is why they need to know the full year? As far as Im concerned I ended my claim in October and my finances from that point onwards is none of their damn business. I get really sick of these government agencies prying into my finances & thought that when I ended my claim I would finally be free of these people.
  10. Hi, Priorities are subjective. But I assume the government has some list somewhere that tells me what my debt priorities are. I am sick of the government telling me how much money I need to live on, how much they can take from my wages, how much debt they consider to be financial hardship. I am capable of working out my finances I dont need them deciding this for me. If I tell them I cannot afford £60 per month then I cannot afford it.
  11. I have been paying off a social loan I had many years ago at £1 per week. I am working but my finances are at breaking point & that is all I can afford. Now the DWP have sent me a letter saying they have contacted my employer & asking for them to take money out of my wages based on a percentage. (I feel this letter was a scare tactic to get me on the phone) I called up DWP to question this and was told although I was making payments there was no official payment plan in place, and they would not accept any less that £60 per month. Firstly how can the government take money out of my wages without knowing anything about my financial circumstances? Secondly how can they do this when I was paying the debt? Thirdly how can they force me to make payments that will cause me financial hardship? I cannot afford £60 per month. How can I reduce the payment amount? The woman on the phone would not budge. I am paying so many debts and trying to get my life back on track but they just keep piling on. I had a nervous breakdown due to debt a few years ago and am starting to feel again like I cant carry on. I take 1 step forwards 2 steps back.
  12. Hi, oh I see. Why has it taken them so long to decide they are going to take me to court? I was interviewed well over a year ago. They have sent some files they will be using as evidence. I dont remember receiving the leaflet after the interview but it was ages ago. So is this court date an opportunity for me to give my side or am I already condemned and they just want to tell me in an official capacity. I dont know whether I need a solicitor or not?
  13. A few years ago I was self employed but not earning much so I was receiving housing benefits top-up. I decided to improve my prospects & enrolled in university for a degree. I applied for the full whack of student loans. As I was finishing my final year at uni I was interviewed for benefit fraud. My view at the time was, I was self employed if I want to go to uni and get a degree in my spare time that is my business, as I was paying the student loan back it is no different to me getting any other type of loan - apparently the law doesnt agree and a payment arrangement was set-up for me to repay the overpayment. I have been happily repaying the overpayment for well over a year now. So I was surprised when I received a court summons today about this very matter. I think I need legal advice now,can anyone help?
