  1. The Sia Have A Good Website Were It Tells You If Individuals Or Companies Are Banned Please Check It Out. It Might Not Seem Much But Everything Helps.
  2. Your Quote About The Sia Is Wrong. Ive Been In The Industry For Over 10 Years Done My Sia Course. Definately By Law The Person Who Is Putting The Clamp On The Vehicle Must Be Licenced. Unless Your Employed For Example By Log Book Direct Then and Clamper Must Have The Security Industy Authority Badge
  3. ********DONT FORGET******* IF THE THUGS COME TO THE DOOR AFTER YOUR CAR HAS BEEN CLAMPED REMEMBER TO LOOK FOR THEIR SIA BADGE THEY MUST HAVE IT IF THERE ARE WORKING FOR A CONTRACTOR OR SELF EMPLOYED. IF THEY DONT HAVE A BADGE ASK THEM FOR THEIR LICENCE DISPENSATION NUMBER (apologies for the spelling). IF THEY DONT HAVE EITHER THEN ITS AN ILLEGAL PICK UP. IF THEY DO GET THEIR LICENCE NUMBER PUT IT INTO THE SIA WEBSITE AND MAKE SURE ITS VALID. THE LICENCE MUST SAY VEHICLE IMMOBILISER OR THEY MUST HAVE A LETTER ON THEM WITH THE DISPENSATION NUMBER ON IT. ITS THE LAW. APOLOGIES FOR THE LONG MESSAGE BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE FORGETTING ABOUT THIS GOOD LUCK. PHONE THE POLICE WHO ARE SLOW TO ACT AND DO REPORT THEM TO THE SIA.

  5. sometimes the posts are getting really technical. can you tone it down for us hard of thinking people.
  6. keep up the fight lads and lassies. even though i lost the car i got two of the baliffs sacked and fined and got lbl fined for using a an unlicensed security staff although the fine was only £1500 its still money out there pockets. remember the procedures of the bailiffs i mentioned earlier. THEY MUST BE LICENCED AND HAVE VISIBLE ID ON THEM OR A LETTER ON THEM WITH A LICENCE DISPENSATION NUMBER-temporary licence.*****YOUR ARE ENTITLED TO ASK AND SEE THIS********* if they have nothing phone the police, unfortunately the police no nothing about this or very little. SEE www.the-sia.org.uk further info.it might just by that time thats needed p.s. THEY WILL TELL IT IS NOT VALID IN SCOTLAND. IT DEFINATELY IS. ITS UK WIDE
  7. let us know please what happens if you sell it.......im in the same boat and its slowly sinking. thanks
  8. did you ask the tossers for the SIA BADGE see previous thread.
  9. i trying to plaster this message to as many people as possible. its a wee bit technical. if the thugs sorry baliffs come to the door they should have a visible blue badge with the SIA logo on it + photo. SIA stands for Security industry Authority this a legal requirement that they must have. if they dont ask them if have a licence dispensation number (this is what they get when they are waiting on their badge to arrive) if the dont have ldn then contact the local police *******THEY ARE WORKING ILLEGAL************ sometimes the police are slow to get involved as they think it is a private matter. Quote - the security industry act 2001. also contact the SIA they have the legal powers to prosecute and fine the individual and company. the SIA has been in England and Wales for approx. 2 years and only in scotland a couple of months. i had the baliffs out at 0500 to clamp the car back out at 0800 to lift and when i mentioned the SIA they gave me till 1700 to get a reduced figure from £900 to £500

  11. I Am Plastering This All Over The Place. When The Baliffs Come Out To Repo The Car. Ask!!!!! Them For Their Sia Badge (security Industry Authority) It Is A L E G A L Requirement To Have This Unless They Are Applying For One They Will Have A Licence Dispensation Number. If They Look At You, Scratch There Head (mine Did When He Came To Visit) And Says They Dont Need One Contact Your Local Police And Insist They Take Action. Or Contact The Sia Website For Info The Have The Power To Prosecute The Baliffs If Enough People Do It. Good Luck
  12. Remember To Ask The Baliffs For The Sia Badge. If They Dont Have One. Ask Them If They Have An Licence Dispensation Number. If They Dont Have That They Are Working Illegal. Phone Your Local Police And Insist They Take Action. Also Phone Sia (security Industry Authority) Contact Details From Any Google Search Engine. Good Luck. I Had The Bailiffs At 0530 To Clamp The Car Came Back At 0800 For £500 When I Mentioned The Badge They Didnt Come Back Till 1700.
  13. Remember Remember Remember Log Book Loans Must Have A Visible Sia (security Industry Authority) Valid Badge. If They Dont Have One They Are Allowed A Licence Dispensation Number. Mention This To Them If They Dont Have It Phone Phone Phone The Sia-contact Details From Google Search Engine. This Badge Is A Legal Requirement. I Am Pulling My Hair Out In Frustration That No-one Knows About This. It Has Been In England And Wales For Approx 2 Years But Its Very New In Scotland. I Asked The Bailiff That Came To My Door At 0800, Where His Badge Was. He Gave Me To 1530 To Get The Money. Remember Remember The Sia
  14. :o if any bailliffs turn up at the door. make sure they have there SIA LICENCE (SECURITY INDUSTRY AUTHORITY) IT IS A LEGAL BADGE AND MUST BE DISPLAYED. IF NOT THERE BREAKING THE LAW. REPORTING THEM TO THE LOCAL POLICE CAN BE CONSIDERED OR PHONING THE SIA IS MUCH BETTER. GIVE THEM ANY CONTACT DETAILS AND THEY ARE LIABLE TO A POLICE CAUTION AND ANYTHING UP TO A £5K FINE.
