  1. The mobile phone number on the envelope is 07976150523 I have not called it to see what name they give when they answer.
  2. I don't know if they work under other names, or if the blokes that they employ also work for other enforcement companies. Best thing to do to see if there is any connection is to compare contact details; addresses and postcodes. OR if you can find the company registration number or details, (like I said some of them are not registered and so operating illegally) to look at who the directors are on the Companies House register. All companies in the UK have to be registered with Companies House. Even comparing the mobile phone numbers might show some link. 3. I have found stuff on the "National Warrant Service". Remember when searching to put inverted commas around the term so that it comes up with the exact title. All the information indicates it is a very dodgy outfit. Most importantly, they appear to present themselves as some kind of official (National!) body, but operate from a residential street on the outskirts of London. The faux crown crest on their letters means nothing. They do not appear to be registered as a company with Companies House - at least nothing came up on the searches. Does this mean they are trading illegally? They hammered on my door early one morning shouting that it was "A warrant officer who had come to arrest me for non payment of ~~" I did not answer as the police do not do that. They either are polite and wait till you open the door before speaking, or they just break it down straight off without asking. As for "officer", that also means nothing. I have a friend who is a Senior Reprographics Officer; it means he is in charge of the photocopier. I can only assume that the debts have been sold on from one company to another until they get to the very bottom of the evolutionary scales of bailiff and we have lying thugs from pretend companies at our doors. The selling on or subcontracting of debts from one organisation to another really should be outlawed.
  4. I have found our that MIND are doing a campaign on bailiff regulation, and also research/survey on people who have had experiences with bailiffs or debt collectors. Anyone who has had these dogs at the door will know what a bad effect on our mental health it can have, and so I would encourage everyone to take part in the survey. 1 in 4 people in the UK actually have a diagnosable mental health issue and being harassed by bailiffs and debt collectors has pushed more than a few right over the edge. You can email your stories to [email protected], call 0208 215 2424, or visit the website: www.mind.org.uk/campaigns_and_issues/current_campaigns/in_the_red/bailiffs_survey Please note that they are not offering advocacy or counselling on this matter, but are doing research with a view to action being taken to help us all. IF you need emotional support it's best to contact your usual local services or GP. Cheers and Chin Up. don't let them ruin your life with fear - most of it is hot air and threats in my experience.
  5. Our Housing Assoc. demanded 2 forms of primary ID from each of the tenants - some of whom were secure and had not been contacted by the HA for over 20 years! If you dind't bother you got a notice to seek posession. Now having got all kinds of date from us they sell the info to marketing companies. We know this because of the jointly addressed mail that comes to us. We only happen to flat share and have our own lives, so our names do not appear together anywhere else. I think its really troubling that they are profiting from us in this way.
  6. Are there any case laws you know of regarding housing associations who have failed to sucessfully carry out repairs to the heating and hot wataer system, leaving a sick man without either for most part of the year? Our solicitor is rubbish and says there is not but i can't beleive that.
