Kingston Communications Spying on P2P!?
keypulse replied to gpbrown81's topic in Broadband and other Internet issues
I have difficulty believing anything BT says at the best of times; however I do think they've summed up their position pretty accurately in this case. They don't own any infrastructure whatsoever in Hull AFAIK. No exchanges, no equipment, no poles, no ducts, no cabling. The amount of work involved in supplying that would be vast and unlike the cable companies, at the end of the day they wouldn't even have a virtual monopoly over this type of infrastructure (as they do in the rest of the UK). It does make me wonder though why KCom haven't been forced to open their exchanges to other Telcos/ISPs and allow them to use their infrastructure to provide services as BT have had to accross the UK :-? -

Cannaught Collections - STATUTORY DEMAND - help!
keypulse replied to elsdon.sarah's topic in General Debt Issues
Quick update. 2 months after receiving my genuine looking SD, I have been sent a letter telling me that "...we may pass your account back to our client to consider a doorstep visit" () and "Contact us immediately to state your intention to pay and take advantage of a discount of up to 50%" () amongst other things. Should I indulge them with a CCA request now, or just leave them to it? I owe them precisely £0 and am half interested in actually letting them take me to court as long as I get my costs paid. Could make a nice day out of it. -
Cannaught Collections - STATUTORY DEMAND - help!

Hi First post, but been lurking for a while. I recently received a stat dec from this lot and am in two minds whether to respond. It's for a debt I don't acknowledge and I explained this to them by letter a few years ago before moving house and not hearing anything else till a few months ago, when I began getting letters and a few hand delivered cards from "doorstep collectors". I have ignored all of these as I haven't been well and can't deal with the stress of even getting into a dialogue with these people. Is there any chance that they've sent this out as some sort of bluffing technique as straftat thinks? I know I should just go and get this set aside but I'm a bit concerned that in responding to it they'll start stepping up the harrassment to the level it was a few years back (loads of phone calls daily, letters, doorstep collectors)...
