  1. Hi, NORNIRONGIRL08 , I received a similar letter today giving me until the 13th July, I'm sending them a dispute letter as well but I'm not sure if there's a templete for complaining to OFT, does anyone know where I may obtain this? Thanks.
  2. Ok, so their time expired on 22/08, it's now the 31st and I'm yet to hear from them, I guess I should be reporting them to the OFT right about now, does anyone have any suggestions on what my next move should be??
  3. It does say full and final settlement though..
  4. Check out Shields up peeps, it scans your network checking how secure it is, what you want to achieve is a Stealth network really, give it a try, it's pretty good, there are some ohter tools on the site which be of interest to you..
  5. Hey CB, everyone, sent letters off this evening SPD so they should have them by Fri, shame RMail don't give you the details of whoever signs for the package anymore. I'll start counting 12 days from Monday although I stated in the CCA request, I'll take the notice as received by Friday, deadline by my reckoning is 22/08, is this accurate?? Watch this space.........
  6. Word of warning, NAV isn't easy to completely uninstall, do a search on Google to find you a proper unistaller. Symantec like Microsoft have a habit of wanting to own your machine, Norton in my experience used to be really good but in the last 4 years have turned bad, the sw completely grinds your machine to a halt. Windows Defender isn't too bad and you can also download CA's offering which works OK, Ad-Aware have a new version which will scan automatically but in my experience, if you were to scan the same machine with Spybot S&D, you'll still find something lurking. Oh yes and never touch your registry if you're not familiar with it, that'll be the death of your machine..
  7. I recently sent a request for my statements, Barclays replied but before I could even send them my claim they made me an offer which is short of the amount I would have claimed. The strange thing is I would have claimed for 2 accounts, a joint and personal account, the O/D on the personal account exceeds the claim amount so I was going to let it slide for the time being, however, they have offered me a settlement on both accounts albeit £665 short of the amount I would have claimed for. Of course the wording states they're accepting no liabiltiy and this is a full and final settlement Any advice on my next move, I've read the OFT are looking into a test cae and they advise anyone with an offer letter should accept the offer as they could be waiting a while seeing as the case will not be tried until October. Also can I ask them to rectify our credit records ? Any advice would be most appreciated
  8. Thanks for all your adds, I'm firing the letters off today, keep you posted...
  9. Say Curlyben, I was just thinking, should I write to them reminding them of the Harassment act in an initial letter prior to the CCA
  10. Spoke to Consumer Direct this morning, they are going to advise TS and suggested I get my details registered on TPS TPS Registration
  11. Hi there, this is my 1st thread so I guess this makes me a newbie. I've been visiting CAG for some time now. To the matter at hand, I've been receiving phone calls from Alliance International Credit for a few weeks now as advised by my wife who happened to be home on a few occassions. I was home one evening 2 weeks ago when the phone rang (witheld number of course), converstation went along the lines of Caller: "Can I speak to such and such person". Me: "Speaking" (As you do) Caller: "My name is Mr McConnochie (Scottish accent), can I ask you some security questions" Me: "No you can't, what's this about?" McC: It's about your Associates (or something to that effect) A/C Me: I've never had one of those, I don't know what you're talking about MC: "Yes you do", Answer some security questions and I'll tell you what's it's about" Me: I don't know what you're on about and I promptly hung up. Seconds later he calls back and I promptly tell him in no uncertain terms my number's ex-directory so he shouldn't have it in the first instance, I also advise him this is harrassment, he responded "It is Not", I then told him to write me if he needed to contact me and never to call my house again, then hung up. I then receive a card on Satruday the 21st requesting immediate payment of £431.44 for something I have no idea of, I've never owned an Associates card. He left me a v-mail today at 14:14, can anyone point me in the right direction of the Telephone Harrassment letter as I'm geting quite miffed with this character, I intend to send it to every office AIC has. I'l be contacting TS, Consumer Direct and anyone who'll listen tomorrow, oh yes and another thing, I intend to be waiting outside Maplins when they open tomorrow.. Is there anything else I should be doing?? Arrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!
