  1. Thanks Miss M As you say the Mike V Blair stuff is useful. Let us know if you find anything else.
  2. Hi All - I've found and used the template CCA request letter. What I (and I imagine others) would find helpful would be a pointer or forum specifically detailing other template letters (when the 12 days is up, and then the 30 for instance) in respect of CCA requests/tactics etc. If this already exists - can someone point me to it. Thanks All
  3. Statements back to March 2001 now received from NW!!
  4. I think that is a Great idea Bella - hopefully a new thread can be set up. PS Barclays/Barclaycard are by far the worst in my book. They don't respond to anything - the clock is ticking though!!
  5. Can I jump into this and ask, if, in my case, I need to send two seperate CCA letters to NatWest Cards- as I have 2 credit card accounts (Gold and ordinary mastercard) with them. I was planning to send one letter - detailing both accounts (and enclosing two £1 postal orders). Can I also be cheeky and ask why it is important to include "'I do not acknowledge any debt to your company". In my case - I have missed a number of payments and they seem unwilling to listen to any request to establish a DMP - I was going to take them to task on their failure to respond to my five letters and CCA them at the same time. Is this wise ? Thanks All !!
  6. I may be in touch - Many thanks v useful !!

  8. Good thinking - I've, to date, made my token payments (with those who haven't agreed) using the paying slip on my statements. They haven't refunded it - so I guess you could argue (somewhat weakly I admit) that they have accepted ?
  9. Or of course they are just incompetent ? I’m trying to get them to agree to a token repayment plan (most of my other card providers have agreed to this – and some time ago as well it must be said) as I don't have any PPI on my Barclaycards. Thanks for your thoughts though !!
  10. Thanks and Good Luck - Keep us all posted !!
  11. Couldn't find anything much thread wise re the FOS - so in for a penny as they say........ I am about to write to the FOS in respect of Barclaycard - who, to put it simply, do not reply to correspondence (I've written 4 letters and sent countless 'secure' E-Mails via their website- which they acknowledge and then ignore). In my last letter (sent recorded delivery and signed for at 10.18 on 27 March 2007) I informed them, that I would be making a formal complaint and contacting FOS if I did not receive a considered response to my previous correspondence within five working days (4 April). I've had nothing - so before I put finger to keyboard, I wondered if there was a template(s) or advice in respect of contacting the FOS. Thank You !!
  12. Thanks I had a feeling you might say that - Shucks !! So can this mean the DCA (or whoever 'takes over' the debt (if that's what happens?) going down the CCJ/ Balliff's road ? Sorry to be a pain
  13. Useful - Thank You. Can they pass/sell the 'debt' on to as DCA or similar even if they are in breach ??
  14. dont know why my post had 2 cool logos on it - numbers should read 28 (in both cases)
  15. Those are my thoughts - be interesting to see if anyone knows anymore or has any more details though. A quick look at the Companies House Website..... WebCHeck - Select and Access Company Information shows that Mercers were up until 10/7/1991 called BARSHELFCO (NUMBER 49) LIMITED and Barclaycard have the names BARSHELFCO (NUMBER 28) LIMITED and BARSHELFCO (NUMBER 28) LIMITED shown against them on 8/2/1991 and again on 10/7/1992. It may mean nothing (I'm no expert on Company Registrations) - but someone out there may know.
  16. As far as I understand it Mercers debt collections limited (that is how their letterhead is printed), who give their address as PO Box No 55, Liverpool, L32 8XX (Registered Office Citypoint, One Ropemaker Street, London, EC2Y 9SS) are part of / or are Barclaycard. They use envelopes (always 2nd class business postage paid) with PO Box 54 Northampton on the reverse. They usually also enclose an pre-printed envelope (non pre-paid of course) addressed to Barclaycard, Dept PP, Bolton, Great Britain, BL11 1XX. Any 'correspondence' from them seems always to be dated at least 4 working days before it enters the postal system - where it is often postmarked to show this. They are also fond of asking you to call them on 0870 410 0385 which of course is a premium rate (4p a minute at least plus 3p connection charge) number. They never give you their regional number 01514732528, which, of course, is considerably cheaper. I would be interested to know from others on here if they know how Mercers fit into the scheme of things - are they Barclaycard or DCA's for Barclaycard, or ???? Thanks in advance Ladies & Gentlemen !!
  17. Did a Moderator get back to you ? I'd also be interested in this advice !!
  18. Thanks Standing !!! Hopefully I won't need to try it - but I'm not holding my breath!!
  19. Nice One :D I find also that auto blocking all witheld and private numbers from my land line (cost 75p a month) and transferring all calls to my mobile (from anyone not listed as a friend or family in my contacts) works a treat. Stops all the double glazing sales calls as well Gets them to put things in writing - which of course none of them seem keen to do for some strange reason
  20. This site is a good one for finding out who any 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845, 0870 or 0871 numbers belong to (also gives you (in most cases) either a freephone number or local area code number (should you wish to call them - I'd advise only communicating in writing): SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers Tell your chums all about it !!!
