  1. petcat I quoted this and have had my money back but don't know which bit of my letter made them take action, good luck
  2. Hey enolar, i sent prelim to helifax on 29.3.07 and got an offer letter today ! quick phonecall thanking and rejecting the part refund and within minutes full amount offered and no need to do an lba or file, wishing you luck and a speedy resolution. I wish i'd learnt my lesson at 20 re charges they didn't threaten to close my account or attach any conditions except a reminder that i'm liable for charges blah blah a leaflet on how they work etc etc. as always its safest to have another option just in case. good luck
  3. Hi Lulu, i got the statements and a week or so later a copy of charges they tallied up so you would be okay with either i'm sure. Good luck with your claim
  4. Hi Tracy, good luck with your claim, mine was offered today in full so persevere, i sent my original letter to my branch, had no response, rang when the timescale up and explained claiming charges and wanted statements, they sent them out and didn't cash the cheque, I then sent Prelim letter to trinity road and they sent offer letter which i got this morning , i'd send registered or recorded too then you can prove the deadlines.
  5. I know it's weird , they took ages to send me copy of charges and statements and i got the 8 week response aswell as they said they had been inundated with request for repayments, my letter was also a standard thank you for your complaint lol I'm sure they'll get back to you soon, fingers crossed.
  6. WOW I can't beleive how easy this was, i took advice from this forum and some others and sent a prelim letter 29th march, got an offer this morning for £948 as a goodwill, rang the number , thanked for offer but declined, immediately offered me £1000 again said thanks appreciate it but want the full amount especially as monies were taken from my account that were made up of child benefit and under social security act they weren't able to do that, without comment she immediately offered full amount of £1466 and said with me in bank in next 14 days, she was friendly helpful and even better i'm £1500 richer after 1 phone call and one letter and yes i know it's my responsibility to manage my money but as we all know on here stuff happens, good luck to all who are pursuing this and to those who haven't yet do it !
  7. I sent mine on the 29th , don't forget the bank hols as this morning postie brought a letter from halifax offering partial payment as goodwill, rang the number said thanks but no thanks and appreciated the offer but wanted full amount , she upped the offer immediately, i again said no thanks that i wanted full amount especially as charges taken from account when the money in it was child benefit, she offered full amount without quibble and said letter on way and amount would be in bank within 14 days, hope you get the response you want. good luck
  8. just to let you know the postman this very hour delivered an offer of goodwill from halifax after one prelim letter, i rang the number on the letter and said thanks but not accepting as full payment, she upped the offer without question and again i said thanks but no thanks that i really did want the full amount especially as charges had been taken from my bank that were from child benefit etc, straight away she offered the full amount and said a letter would come out and the money would go straigt in my bank !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW one letter and one 5 min phone call and £1500 better off, stick with it they do pay up. Good Luck
  9. I don't think you will have, just reissue the new letter with the correct dates on and see what happens. Good luck
