  1. Long story short. I had a bank account with Nat West and went £5 overdrawn. Immediately Nat West put charges on, and immediately I opened an account with a different bank, and got my money put in there instead. Anyhow, the charges kept coming until they reached £440 odd quid then Nat West closed my account without notice. Had a letter from Moorcrap today. It is the "we are now the agents for Nat West" letter and is requesting full payment. Am a bit rusty in the proceedures with this now. Can anyone remind me what I should do now?
  2. Thank you. Am having brain-freeze at the moment.
  3. Do they have "experts" who can verify signatures btw? I would imagine it's easy to forge a signature, saying that you would think theybwould forge the correct one. So should I do a "send me everything you hold about me" request with a tenna? Can't remember what it's called.
  4. So do i bother sending any more letters or should I just leave it? They have said that my initial complaint has been dismissed and that I should go to the Financial Ombudsman. Should I wait and see what threats come now, or what?
  5. Oh and she offered me money off to pay off the account
  6. Phoned them up, asked when they were going to supply me with a CCA and if they were allowed to put another default on my credit file when they had already put one on in 2007. Got told that they had checked my CCA with a "handwriting expert" who had confirmed that the signature matched the 2000 CCA (don't think this is true, plus it must be copied as I definitely didn't sign it in my old married name in 2004). Then the woman went off on a rant about how in her opinion she wouldn't have ruined her credit record by trying to avoid making a payment. I asked her if that was HFC's opinion or hers. She said it was hers, and so I said "What right do you have to make any assumptions or opinions of me? Is that HFC's policy? To allow employees to have a go at people based on their personal opinions?" Ended up speaking to her manager who said the default notice was not a default notice but a warning of a default notice. Also said it didn't matter that the details on the CCA were wrong as I was just trying to avoid my debts. I told her that my main worry wasn't about paying off the account, but how HFC had a CCA with the wrong name and what I suspect to be a forged copy of my signature on it.
  7. Got a default letter today. They must have searched my credit file as i moved in March. Anyway, the account was defaulted in 2007, so surely they cannot default it again? Also they are still saying that the CCA with my maiden name on is valid, despite me having changed my name over 10 months earlier and having legal documentation saying this.
  8. It has enough to keep me happy tbh. I am seriously made up.
  9. What a result! I went in there today and basically raised the place. Told them I was going to speak to my solicitor, and phone BBC Watchdog, that none of the machines had been of merchantable quality. Three managers came over and I was grovelled to, and offered a 32Gb Ipad. I am absolutely over the moon!!!
  10. Hi there. Anyone able to help? I am going to try and get hold of the manager tomorrow.
  11. Thanks very much. It probably does need moving.
  12. Last september I stupidly went to PC world and got a laptop. It was bought as a package where you pay for the mobile dongle and get the laptop free and it was taken out in my mam's name. Within days I was having problems with the graphics card and I took the laptop back to the store. They took it, said they had fixed it and so I took it home. I checked the maintenantce log when I got home and an error was logged for before I had picked it back up. Within hours I was having the same problems as before. I took the laptop back and they changed it for a different unit of the same model. Within days this unit was playing up. So I took the laptop back and the store changed it for a different model replacement. This laptop continued working fine until November when one morning I got up and the unit wouldn't switch on at all. I had taken out the "anything happens" insurance and so they phoned for them to pick up the laptop. They came twice to the wrong address (they were specifically told to pick it up from my mam's house but came twice to my home to pick it up despite them confirming twice that they were going to pick it up from my mams). They finally collected the laptop on the third attempt, and took it to be repaired. After 28 days they couldn't repair the unit and so I went to PC world where they gave me another different model replacement laptop. I also upgraded the "anything happens" insurance with this new unit to ensure I had a laptop to loan from PC world if for any reason my new laptop needed to be taken and repaired. This was in December. Just before Easter this new laptop stopped working and a hard-drive error was diagnosed. The laptop was picked up and a tatty old laptop was loaned to me without the plug end of the charger. I went to PC world and they gave me the plug end of the charger. My laptop had been away 10 days and so I phoned to ask what was wrong, and they said they had sorted it and had been trying to contact me on my mobile number to deliver it (which they hadn't as there was no missed calls logged on my phone). The delivery date for my laptop was A WEEK and TWO DAYS!!! They said they couldn't get it to me quicker (from Grantham to Newcastle) and so I had to accept it. I spoke to the store manager and he apologised and said that if there were any more problems to go back to the store. So this morning I went to open up my laptop and the lid/screen snapped a hinge at the back so that you can see exposed wires and the screen won't stop up. I haven't been heavy handed or anything with the laptop, I just opened it normally and it broke. I went back to the store but the manager was apparantly out of the store. I have left the laptop there to be repaired but they haven't said how long it would take or offer me a replacement. I am sick as a chip. All I want is a laptop that works. I am still paying for the mobile broadband and the "anything goes" insurance. What can I insist PC world do? I have never had a laptop from them that has lasted more than a couple of months without a problem since using the store initially back in September.
  13. If the LL has given you 48 hours notice of an appointment is there really any reason why you cannot allow a viewing to take place as long as it really doesn't stop you attending appointments you have made prior to your LL giving you the relevant notice? Surely it is in your best interest to allow potential buyers to view, as then you are more likely to get rid of your current LL?
  14. When I went to hand back the keys the landlady admitted she owed me £185 (which I had put to her in December but she dismissed). She also said that I would get my bond back (and mentioned no deductions - does this mean none will be made?). She did ask me to text her the number for the TDS scheme, but I wasn't sure that I was supposed to do that, so I haven't so far. Should I do that? If not what do I do to get my deposit (bond) back and the £185. I have proof that I have overpaid btw.
  15. The landlord has phoned and she said that the amount was right but when I asked her about being a month in advance and that I thought I only owed £100 she was going to double check and get back to me.
  16. I paid a further payment in February which would take that to 17th march. Am I right in thinking that by paying a month's rent upfront when I moved in and then a payment each month thereafter I am paying a month in advance? I don't dispute £100 of the sum owed. just can't see where the other £165 comes from. When I asked the landlord for a breakdown of that sum she said it was rent I owed her.
  17. I moved out of my house yesterday. My tennancy ran from the 18th of each month, but expired in January and had not been re-signed. I gave my lanlady a months notice from 1st feb. I owed her £100, but she says I owe £265 to the end of the month. But I paid a months rent plus the same amount again as a bond on the day I moved in. Surely I have paid in advance so only owe the £100?
  18. No, cos I was making payments until 2008, it is only 20 months or so into its statute barred period.
  19. Aye, I think I might just send it on monday
  20. Was wondering if anyone has sent the DCA a letter that goes a little like this, (even though they want cash off you). Dear sir, Thank you for your phone call on **/02/10. I really didn't want to know who killed Archie on Eastenders and your perfectly timed called ensured that I am still in the dark with the ongoings of Albert Square. I am delighted that you finally admitted that you saw the case from my point of view, and your representative admitted that I owed your company no monies, and infact you owe me £2.50. I will miss your telephone calls and awaiting your doorstep representative coming to call on me. My social life is so restricted that your presence in my life was the highligh, and I am not sure how I will be filling my days now. I will also miss your invitations to maybe meet up at county court one day. I am sure we could have had a lovely wee chat over a cinnamon latte and possibly a chocolate muffin. I do hope that you spend the time you spent on chasing me chasing another poor sap who made the mistake of asking for the correct paperwork to show they actually owed the money. It's not your fault that we have been made aware of contractual law. Hoping that your bonuses are enough this year to finance a new Porsche. Yours Berrylover.
