  1. Hi again Sea-Side Lady What is the 8 weeks you mentioned. I note you said if I speak to someone ask them for the original £410 plus the additional £140. Have you come across this scenario before? When I ring tomorrow, I might indicate that they have left me no alternative but to reject their £205 offer and will proceed with the claim, claiming for the original plus the additional costs incurred this week. I am hoping that they don't withdraw my overdraft facility and close my account. As although I have got an account at another bank (which I have had for a number of years and my wage goes in there) my hubbys wage and all the direct debits are set up from the Halifax account. It will be a nightmare if this happens. Once again you really are a great inspiration.
  2. Hi Sea-side lady I know if I have said this to you before, but you really are helpful. It is very much appreciated. They have offered me 50% of my claim, (I received the offer on Friday along with another letter advising me I have incurred charges this month - £140 worth) I am thinking about ringing them tomorrow to indicate that if they pay the £410 what I originally claimed I will finish the proceedings, however, if they do not agree to the £410 I will go for that and add on the new £140 worth. What do you think? Have you any idea of how I should word things when I ring them tomorrow?
  3. Sorry to interupt, but have the halifax withdrawn your overdraft facility or closed your account whilst going through this process.
  4. MMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I am going to ring them on Monday, as I am panicking, just reading a few other threads on here and overdraft facilities have been withdrawn and bank accounts closed during the process of claiming back charges. I am soooooooooooo worried, I am worried sick.
  5. Hi Sea-Side Lady Your help and assistance on here is so valuable. I just want to ask - as the Halifax withdrawn any of your overdraft facilities or closed any of your accounts? You may have gathered I really am panicking.
  6. Hi there I am even more worried now having read one of your other threads. To find that the Halifax have closed your account. I really do hope that they have not done this to me as my wages are due to go into the account on Monday.
  7. Thanks for replying Sea-Side Lady I am in such a state about all of this and I have just read Greendykes thread about what the BOS have done to her son. I am panicking even more now as my wages are due to go into the bank on Monday. I really do feel ill about it all.
  8. Helo Greendykes Was all the other claims with the Halifax or not? I have received an offer and my wages are due to go into the bank on Monday. I am now concerned that my wages will be swallowed up with the Halifax. I feel so sick now.
  9. Following my LBA letter I received a couple of "fobbing off" letters from the Halifax, and I have just received another this morning offering my £205.00 as a good gesture offer (my original claim was for £410.00. I have another slight problem now though, this month I have miscalculated my monies and incurred some more charges on my account. Can I now add these on to my claim before I register the claim with Moneyclaim? As I have rang the Halifax call centre this morning and because I have this pending the usual staff are not in a position to help me and agree to revoke this new costs. I have to wait until Monday and speak to Customer Services. Obviously with me being in this state - I do not want to risk not getting paid out. Should I hold out for it all including adding the extras. Is there anyone that can give me any assistance amongst you all?? My whole money situation really is starting to get me down it will be the death of me. Any opinions welcome!!!!
  10. Hi there Just received a letter offering me 50% (£205) of my original claim. However, this month I have made a right boo-boo in mu calculations and yes!!! have gone overdrawn again. I know (after ringing the Halifax this morning) that the the ususal members of staff on the switch board canot asist me with revoking these new recent charges, I have to wait until Monday to speak to the Customer Services in Head Office. If they will not revoke these new charges of this week, can I add these charges onto my existing claim prior to filing in the Money Claim in onlime for court?? This is starting to make me ill, will I ever turn the corner and not have bank charges and have some money in the bank?
  11. Hi Dave 777 I sent my SAR letter request on the 7th January and I still have not received any statements, I have received a letter dated 25th January indicating that I should have the statements within the next 10 Days (expired on 8th Feb), I am also wondering what if anything I need to be doing. IMO if they do not keep to their words and their obligations, this surely does not look good should my case go to court, I am waiting with bated breath.
  12. Sent my SAR letter to the Halifax on 7.1.2007. Received a letter back from them dated 25th January 2007 indicating that the duplicate statements have been ordered and if I have not received them within the next 10 working days (expired 8.2.07) to contact them via telephone. I still have not received anything. It also state in the letter that HBOS is under no statutory obligation to record information with regards to manual intervention on my account is this also correct? Should I ring them or just continue to wait? I look forward to hearing from anyone.
  13. Hi there Was advised of this process by a lady from school who has recently began down this route. I am too attempting to go down the route. Very much on the nervous side, quite worried aswell. Seen that alot of people have had successes, has anyone that has challenged the Halifax been dealt with on the nasty side (ie withdrawing the overdraft facility and closing their accounts down)??? My first letter is in the envelope, dubious about posting!!!! A Yorkshire Lass:-| :?
