Hello all it's my first time on these forums and I wondered if I could run this by someone: I have a flexible p-time job and I required a short low advance cash injection, I looked at different same day lenders, visited there sites, read t&c's, scrutinized there extortionate APR's % and settled for a twelve day £200 loan from Wonga on 13/01/2013 - 25/01/2013. I re-paid £249 inc. a transmission fee of £5.50. The issue I am attempting to highlight here is that Wonga charged me an extra £20 fee because I did not have sufficient funds in my nominated account on the due date at the stated 5am / 5pm collection? cycles. After a lot of faffing about I realized I had mistakenly (much earlier in the day) transferred funds to cover the total loan amount into a different account (sigh). Hours of waiting on a Friday, feverishly checking my nominated banks online service wondering when and where the payment had got to and it had already passed 5pm. I quickly noted in my Wonga account the £20 charge added to the repayable amount @ (17:01). Did I make the right choice in paying the amount off in full and not escalating this case with Wonga (as time ticked away I frantically searched there site for contact information to no avail) in the hope of the £20 fee being wavered. (Do I have any recourse to waive the £20 charge? I feel it is unjust that I must pay a £20 charge for fully paying off the debt on the designated payment date, albeit regardless of a 5am/pm cutoff, do you agree?). Ah well I know for the future now Mike F

hello there : ) I was recently paying £7.50 a month to santander, but now it has just shot up to £20. (£240 a year) for £700 max overdraft. I am on incapacity benefit and am trapped in my overdraft. I wonder does anyone know of a decent bank that will transfer my overdraft and offer a better rate? I am sure allot of people are planning to move away from this bank in the following months. thanks for your help : )
