I'm not 100% sure but I don't think they can do this as the account is in dispute. Hopefully someone who knows better will come along. Jim

I have had problems in the past. It seems to me that it depends who you talk to. I was told my last charge would be removed then a few days later I had a phone call demanding payment. I didn't pay then a week later I got another call saying the charge had been removed and my balance was clear. If I were you I would probably go ahead for the rest. Jim

Yes send an SAR first and find out exactly how much the charges are then follow the same procedure as you would with a bank. Good luck Jim

Not 100% sure but I think it's a chain. I think it should be changed about 100 - 120 000 but again not sure. I would change it now for peace of mind. Jim

Hi you need to take some time to read the FAQ's everything is explained step by step there. -
Hi read all the FAQ's and the letter templates are in the library. It's the subject access request you're looking for and you send this to your bank.

Question - How is the final payment made? Cheque or into the bank account?

I'm not sure when you have to tell them how you want payment, probably with prelim letter but not sure. Someone will know. -

It is your money so they have to pay it back to you on your terms! If you decide you want a cheque from them then any uther form of payment can be refused. -
Hi folks I am also just starting my claim. Printed out the SAR letter today and will post recorded delivery tomorrow morning. Can'y wait to see how much they owe me!

Thanks I'm finding the forums quite addictive, was up half of last night! It's also quite funny how I found this site. About 2 days ago I received a statement from Argos with nothing on it except a charge so I phoned the number on the statement and asked what it was for. I was told it was for a late payment last month but when I pointed out that the payment was late because my statement was late(I paid it the same day I received it) the woman changed her story and said it was for a late payment in June(entirely my fault). I was getting nowhere so I hung up and looked on a search engine for an email address to complain to. This site came up in the results and here I am now. Just think, if that woman had been more helpful or cancelled the charge I wouldn't be here now!

Hi I have just spent the last 2 days reading info and the forums and feel I am now ready to take action against RBS and Argos Card Services. Just printed off SAR's to both of them and will post them ASAP.
