  1. I was caught by a camera going over one of the many bridges across the Thames. I had bought a CC at the local garage before I set out when the photo came I checked my receipt from the garage and they had typed my reg in wrong. I phone them straight away and was told "You only get one chance on this, it's up to you to check your reg when buying the CC, if it happens again you will be charged with no appeal" I go to London quite regular and now I always check my receipt!
  2. ok what ever gets a result is all that matters
  3. I would send a SAR letter registered post that way you have proof they got it and can keep track of it.
  4. 1.5 million have signed and rising, but the the mp's don't like it and are saying they'll ignore it!
  5. Thank God Air and Sex can't be taxed! Come on all sign up
  6. The BP by the North terminal allows you 40 mins with no return for 2 hours, but during the day the limited parking is usually full. That 40 mins is from the time you enter the garage so if you put fuel in your being timed. They have changed the signs to make them bigger. Next time I go up I'll check the Mc D's at the South Terminal.
  7. Gatwick has become a nightmare for anyone waiting to pick up passengers at both the BP services and the Mc Donalds. Or even just to have a break. If your waiting to pick up the better idea is to drive 7 miles down the M23 southbound to the services at Pease Pottage where you get 2 hours free parking. The foods better too
  8. Nice one Seahorse Got it all sorted, Thomson Directories did a few checks phoned both the taxi firm and me to confirm we wanted my number removed from the database. And this weekend was the quietest I've had in months. They couldn't explain how my number got linked to the Taxi firm though Ho Hum back to the silo SD
  9. Hi I booked my car into a local Mr Clutch for a clutch replacement at 1030. The service manager said he'd phone me when it was ready as it was a 4.5 hour job. I phoned him at 1600 to find out if my car was ready and he said the release bearing on the clutch he had on the shelf was faulty and he had to source one from another branch and it wouldn't be there till the next day. I need my car to earn my living and to have it off the road for a day and a half is just not on. Do I have a good reason to ask for a discount? TIA SD
  10. Vodafone just confirmed they don't put numbers onto the directory unless you ask them to, I haven't. Somehow Thomson Directories has got my number attached to a local Taxi firm and when people phone 118118 to call this firm and the number is busy they give mine out as an alternative off to Thomson Directories now! SD
  11. Well I complained by email and got this in reply We have received your email with reference to your Directory Entry. The Directory Service that we provide lists Customers for all Telephone companies. To ensure all Customers details are handled safely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act we are unable to change the Directory details ourselves for other Service Providers. As a company other than BT provides your telephone service you will need to contact them directly, this will be your mobile telephone company. The Directory Enquiry National Database will reflect the changes shortly after the amendments have been made by your Service Provider. So it's off to Vodafone now to see what they have to say.
  12. Thanks for that, I'll give it a try
  13. Hi every Friday and Saterday night I get phone calls on my mobile from people who want a taxi. When I ask them where they got my number they always say 118118 gave it to them. I contacted 118 and after a very long conversation with a person with a basic command of english I was put through to a supervisor who said basicaly she couldn't help. Any ideas on how to get this stopped? TIA SD

Business banking is another way for the banks to make money out of you, initally they will offer free banking then after the time is up they will hit you for every transaction you make, direct debit, standing order cashing cheques (deposit and credit) paying in cash anything that goes through a business account is charged for.

  17. Hi, Just been reading through all the sucesses and can't help thinking the banks are going to mightily fed up by paying all this money out plus paying their rather inept solicitors. They are going to want to recoup this money somewhere.
