  1. many thanks for the advice, just to add to this i did a bit of snooping in the handover book for our night team and found out while off work sick other employees have reduced there hours and i was promised a new contract was waiting to be signed when i come back but that never happend, resigning might not have been the best move but i felt i was being pushed out and they were just waiting to get me on a disaplinary knowing i couldnt work the hours they wanted. thanks again for the advice
  2. hi all, i did work work a large retail company until last night but had no choice but to resign, i have been looking into the disability discrimination act myself since then and would like some advice, here we go....... october last year i requested with my employer to reduce my shifts from 4 nights a week to 2 shifts per week as i was struggling due to artheritis in my back at that point i was advised as its a busy time of the year with christmas on the horizon they will sort out a new contract for me in january. Come january i spoke to my line manager again and was told this time until they can get cover for my shifts ill have to wait and carry on doing my 4 nights per week, anyway it got to a point in march i was in so much pain i went to see my gp who signed me off work for a total of 4 months, i returned a couple of weeks back.During my time off i have spoken to my line manager who stated that a new contract was waiting for me in work to reduce my hours but cant be signed until i have returned to work, but surprise surprise when i did return to work i was offered to do 2 shifts for the first 2 weeks back then back to 4 nights per week unless i use my hoiliday entitiement to keep my shifts at 2 per week until that runs out i have constantly told my line manager i cant manage 4 nights per week and if i do them i will prob end up off work for another long spell this is from the discrimination act 1995: (3) The following are examples of steps which an employer may have to take in relation to a disabled person in order to comply with subsection (1)— (a) making adjustments to premises; (b) allocating some of the disabled person’s duties to another person; © transferring him to fill an existing vacancy; (d) altering his working hours; (e) assigning him to a different place of work; (f) allowing him to be absent during working hours for rehabilitation, assessment or treatment; (g) giving him, or arranging for him to be given, training; (h) acquiring or modifying equipment; (i) modifying instructions or reference manuals; (j) modifying procedures for testing or assessment; (k) providing a reader or interpreter; (l) providing supervision. i feel they are not doing all they can to accomadate me and my condition,do i have enough grounds to take this further thanks in advance

  5. hi all, just had a visit from a bristow and sutor bailiff who has posted a letter through my letterbox this is it word by word: As you failed to contact me following my last visit i attended your premises today concerning the above and seize your goods for sale by public auction it is my duty to warn you that further visits will be made either early morning, late evening or on a saturday to complete the seizure of your goods. If you are not present goods can be removed in your absence. The visits will be made without notice and if goods are seized you will incur additional costs which are payable in accordance with the law and will be substantial. CORRECT me if im wrong but ive never let these bullies in after being assulted by another company so he cant break in as he implies to take goods thanks in advance sorry its for outstanding council tax:confused:
  6. i had a male from cabot ring me a few weeks back, so i started asking all aboat him and then told him i was gay and i would like to come out for a drink with me sometime so we can get to know eachother a bit more as we can only do so much on the phone, to my surprise he hung up:o and he has not called back since:D
  7. been weeks now since ive had any contact from cabot but have now been flooded with calls from health insurance companies and loan companies, could this be a coincidence or maybe they are claiming to be someone there not or just have passed my details around to **** me off, im ex-directly so how else did these peeps get my number.
  8. hello everyone, looking for some advice, i have had artherits since i was 16 which i will be getting treatment for life, when i applied for my current job 3 years ago i disclosed this info too them and they were happy to take me on,but over the last year or so i have needed to take time off on occastions due to being in alot of pain as this is classed as ill health its not counted towards a dissaplinary , but i have now been told that if i have more than 8 shifts off in a 6 month period due to ill health i would be faced with a dissaplinary , and after asking around with others with ill health that have more time off than me i seem to be the only person put on this restriction, can they really do this:o? also as i work nights, no hot food is provided and we do have vending machines but are usually empty by the time we start by the evening staff and not filled again till the morning, surly thet should provide us with food? thanks in advance for any help in this:confused:

  11. hi everyone, 2 weeks ago i was contacted by these people in relation to a credit card debt of £363.29 which is being disputed, they have been calling numerous times a day and have been very rude and aggressive on the phone towards me and my partner.I have stated to them i work nights and the phone calls are in breech of the telecommunications act and harrasment act as ive already ask to have all correspondence in writting, he then made a comment aboat my mother [ who died when i was younger ] so i told him what i though exactly of him, this was last saturday, on sunday while asleep this same person came to my door on a sunday afternoon demanding to my partner to see me and she should wake me up [ yeah right ], and today i have yet again been contacted via telephone and yes i was a sleep and they claimed to my partner that he was from cabot and he was a bailiff [ confussed now thought they were a debt collection agency ] any advice would be appriciated thanks in advance

  17. hi alice, dont let my case worry you, my partner made the first mistake of answering the door.if you get a visit dont anwer and tell them to leave as its causing distress to you [ as your pregnunt ] and your child, or you will call the police.
  18. hi everyone , i recently had an encounter with a bailiff company reguarding council tax my partner owes, when they knocked at the door my partner answered and they forced there way pass her and demanded full payment upfront or they will take everything we own. at that point i asked them to leave as they have entered unlawfully and they refused and said make us, so i pick his paperwork off the table where he left it and proceeded to the front door to throw it outside where the 2 bailiffs then assulted me in front of my kids and partner, then left. i rang the police and it took 2 and a half hours for someone to come out and they told me the bailiff had been to the police station and states that i assulted him [ not a mark on him ] and that i should not persue my complaint as i will get arrested for assult myself:mad:, so i was forced to drop the complaint. i just wanted to know if there was any other action i could take? thanks
