UPDATE: I've just had a phone call from a very pleasant young lady by the name of Temi. There seems to be a bit of a dispute over my claim amount which I think might relate to some now being older than 6 years (they weren't when I started!!). In this case would I still be entitled to those charges that have gone over the 6 year limit?

If I ever get back through to them, do you think they'll go for the festive angle? As I've now been told by the court manager that I will need to be at the allocation hearing on the 2nd (bang goes my plans and time off!). Anyone know what the story is with allocation hearings? ie what happens, how long etc. Cheers

Hi Saracen, if it goes anything like my case they entered Barclays entered their defence with less than one hour to go to the deadline. They really do like to drag it out as long as possible!

Ok, so Barclays litigation section couldn't find my claim details I only got the hearing notice yesterday, have I jumped the gun a bit?

Ok, so District Judge Wilding has summoned me (and doubtless a number of others) to appear at Bedford County Court on the 2nd of January for an allocation hearing. The letter purely states that this is to decide whether my case is suitable for hearing as a fast track. Now the big problem is that I'm not sure if I'm going to be around on the 2nd what with all of the New Years plans, and I remember reading somewhere that it is not necessary to go to this alocation hearing, is this correct? My claim is for about £700 all in, so should really be small claims track. Can anyone advise whether I imagined this thread? Thank you again! dmb

I received the allocation questionnaire yesterday along with Barclays defence. I particularly liked this section: That's surely going to be difficult to prove without opening up their books to scrutiny!? Anyway, I'm going to get the AQ filled in and sent to the court by monday, but I also want to start getting my files in order. I've seen a couple of references to a very useful post by Jonnie2bad, but haven't been able to find it. Has anyone got a link, or other advice about what documents I shouldn't forget to include? Defence entered 1 hour before the deadline.

Ok, so tomorrow is the deadline for the Woolwich to enter their defence. If they do so, how quickly will it appear on the Moneyclaim site? If they don't shall I start the judgment whilst watching the Ashes on Sunday morning. Trying not to get too far ahead of myself, but I'm also trying to work out if that light at the end of the tunnel is daylight or an oncoming train!

Barclays acknowledged the claim on the 15th November, oh well hurry up and wait again!

Ooh, those nice people at Barclays phoned me at work (where did they get that number?) to increase their offer to £200, and to tell me that the amount according to the Woolwich records was wrong. When I asked them to send me the evidence that it was wrong, they had the convienient excuse that this was based on information provided by the Woolwich which Barclays don't have access to (aren't they the same company now?). Anyway I pointed out to the nice man that the MCOL had been issued, and the only way it would be withdrawn is if the full claim was settled. A very polite an civilised phone conversation, but hopefully I got my message across that I'm serious about this! EDIT: Looking back at other people's experiences, I can't see any other instances of Woolwich/Barclays disputing the claim amount. Should I be worried about this?

I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and waited 48 hours to my phone call requesting full settlement, but (probably unsurprisingly) nothing has been heard. So I have just submitted my MCOL, I'll update as I hear anything. ps If successful, I promise I will donate to this site, it has been absolutely fantastic!!!!! :grin:
