  1. Whoopsie, just seen the other thread
  2. Hi All, I stumbled across these boards some time ago when I recieved a "letter" from Mackenzie Hall asking me to contact them. This was followed by a phone call when I wasn't in, and they left a message with the missus asking me to call back. I never did and instead looked them up. I have not heard from them since and this was 6 weeks ago. However I still look at these boards just in case something was to happen then I would have all the ammunition I need. However, the only reason I am posting now is to share this information with people London Scottish Bank shuts door on new customers | Business | guardian.co.uk Basically, London Scottish are stopping lending to people and are concentrating their efforts on developing Robinson Way, who made a £13.6m profit last year. I think the number of people frequentng these boards with queries is going to rise very sharply indeed, and those pesky phonecalls are going to keep occuring to those people already bothered by them Good Luck to all, as these vultures are starting to circle...
  3. Clint, Im going for a two pronged approach as I have money to claim back as well as defaults to be removed on both a Current account and a Mastercard. Whilst the current account LBA was sent 2 weeks ago, the CC LBA was sent today. Both of which state i want my money back and the deafults removed. I will give them 14 days form today before I make one claim for all charges and defaults. I have also sent SB's letter on Friday, so they have until the end of this week, then I will take things further if I have not heard from them. Will keep you posted on how I get on! Spooge
  4. Excellent, Thanks for that, I have sent my first letter to the company secretary, so shall see what happens. A quick resolution would be great, but as long as they get knocked off I will be chuffed!
  5. Rosie, I have the same situation with a HSBC account closed in 2004. I am also claiming back charges on this account, but will send SB's letter also. What is the best address to send it to? Cheers
  6. Tobes, Congrats on that, but i'm interested in your HSBC case as i am going through the same route as yourself. They defaulted my account after putting charges on it and I am trying to reclaim my charges and get the default removed. The account was closed in 2004 and the debt settled at the same time. Their first reply to my prelim was to say they were in the right and I should speak to the Financial Ombudsman. I then sent them an LBA where the 14 day deadline runs out today. Im not too bothered about the money, as the default is the issue p*ssing me off. Do you have any advice with regards to pursuing this double-claim, as if it goes all the way to the court I will be even more annoyed!! Cheers
  7. Hi Everyone, Not too sure where to go with this, so will start with a background into my dealings with HSBC. Back in 2003 when I graduated from Uni I had a HSBC student account and credit card. I was £2000 into my overdraft with the stident account and had £750 on the credit card. Upon graduation I did not make any payments into the HSBC account (as was looking for a job!) and they closed the account and Credit Card, demanded all the money back and put a default against both. This was within 1 month of graduating. After a quick chat to my parents this was paid off, and both were settled 3 years ago. Apart from these two items I have a perfect credit record, and am desperate to get these off due to difficulties getting loans/mortgage. When they defaulted my account they also charged me £120 for going over my £2000 limit, which I am looking to claim back. My question really, is whether or not I have nay chance of getting these deafults removed, and if so what is the best way to go about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers Spooge
  8. Hi Everyone, Started my claim last week with barclays - £505 - and received the usual letter saying they will get back to me in 8 weeks. Will wait for the 14 day deadline set out in the original letter before sending LBA. No questions as the moment, but im sure once things start happening there will be a snowball effect and I will be on here asking for advice thick and fast! Wish me luck!!
