  1. GOOD LUCK!!! I've just sent off my S.A.R so i'll be watching your thread with interest. As your a little in front of me. Keep us posted.
  2. Thanks!!! Followed your advice on everything. Have sent an S.A.R to natwest and capital one. Spending the 40 days they have to reply on swotting up on the rest of this site.
  3. Thanks for your help!!! I posted my S.A.R to the bishopsgate address recorded delivery. I checked with royal mail today and it was recieved on the 10th nov so they have until the 19th december to send me my statements. Which no doubt they will arrive well after xmas with an excuse of it being slow because of the xmas post etc etc, Or they could arrive on time and i'll be tucking into my xmas dinner whilst trawling through a pile of statements. Note to self - Make sure the statemants dont get thrown out with the used xmas wrap. Seems a long time 40 days but plenty of time to get up to speed with the process by reading everyone elses threads. Just a quick question though - :? How much are the court costs? It will inevitably get that far so i want to be well prepared for the court fee's as were already cash strapped trying to pay for our wedding next year. Different people seem to be charged different amount ranging from £100 to £250. I've looked on the moneyclaim site and nothings is mentioned there. Might be able to afford a honeymoon if natwest cough up!!!! Here's to hoping.
  4. i just wondered if everyone recieves a letter stating that their request had been noted and is being dealt with or if they just recieved the statements in the post.
  5. Check out jackson vs capone in one of the other threads, he has just been settled in full!! So there is great hope for us all. Stand your ground and don't back down.
  6. Ohhhhh the satisfaction i felt when i posted the S.A.R by recorded delivery this morning. After recieving todays statement for 2 more charges i felt enough was enough. It's great to think that at some point in the not to distant future i will be turning the tables and sending them a bill for a change. From the statements i have and thats only going back a year i have had the card for over 2 they already owe me more than enough to clear my outstanding balance. God knows how many defaullts they have had applied against me for them applying charges, as it's without a doubt that there charges always make me go over my limit i have never done that myself. I cut the card into chunks over a year ago and have paid well over the mimimum payment to clear it off but they keep applying those so called justifialbe charges to my account. It shoud have been paid off months ago if they didn't apply them. So i'm counting the 40 days they have to send me all my requested info which by my quick calculations the deadline should be just before christmas. I have rung up before to question these charges and in the past i have had a couple reduced to half cos i dont give up easy and some times i think they just do that to get me off the phone. Am i right in thinking that i can reclaim the reduced fee's as well? Strangeley i'm looking forward to recieving the statements along with NatWest as they've been robbing me blind for years. Luckily enough the family has just aquired another member who is an accountant so i'll be able to check with him that i've done my sums correctly.
  7. Hi i was gonna wait to do capone until i'd finished with the bank but i have recieved my statement this morning and they have applied 2 charges the first one for a lte payment which i know is untrue as it was paid early as i have a receipt as proof and this have caused the second charge as i has taken me back over my limit. was just wondering if it was the same process as the bank and also which address do i send the SAR too?
  8. hi i was gonna wait to file against capital one until after i had sorted out my bank but i recieved my statement this morning and they have applied 2 charges to my account. 1 for a late payment that i know was paid earlier than the suggested date because i have the receipt and this charge has caused the second one cos it's taken me back over my limit. I'm not happy so i'm gonna hit em where it hurts and get it all back. Just wondering where i start is it the same process as the bank? Which address to i send the SAR too?
  9. Thanks thats great the branch is only around the corner. They'll have no excuse then to say they never got it. Do i still address it to the following address if i take it in personally. National Westminster Bank PLC 135 Bishopsgate London EC2M 3UR OR is there another one?
  10. Do i have to send my letters by recorded delivery so that i have proof that they recieved them??? Can i send a PO or does it have to be a cheque as the only cheque book i have is the one for the account im claining and after the last fiasco with the cheque's and charges i'd rather send a PO.
  11. I've been toying with this site for a while no wondering wether to claim or not then last month i inncurred over £180 in charges for the sake of 1 cheque. I had too cancel a cheque so i rang the bank to cancel it which they charged me a tenner for. to cut a long story short they cancelled the wrong cheque so the original cheque i wanted cancelling bounced (charge incured) which they took out straight away which made me go over drawn (another charge incurred) which had a knock on effect with all my DD and SO. The bank corrected the mistake and cancelled the original cheque and alow the cheque that they had originally cancelled to proceed. Which bounced becuse of them immediately taking the charges without any warning. So now i've decided to fight back. This also happened about 6 months ago at that time i was on benefits and in that 1 month back then i lived on £10 a week because of them taking chrges and then charging me for the charge (if that makes sense). This seems to happen rather regularly with the NatWest as it happenss to my friend to. I'm of the opinion that someone at the bank goes to work and says '' Oh she hasn't had a charge for a while lets cause one for her'' Well there gonna get a shock now cos i'm taking it all back allong with capitalone and barclaycard. Just printed off the S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letters will be in the post tommorrow. I'll keep you posted with my progress.
  12. Hello everyone. I Just found this site thought it would be worth giving it a go. the banks have had way to much of my cash over the last few years and i want it back. Can you clain for credit cards as well. I lost my job last year and i always managed to pay more than the minimum payment before it was due but they always found some excuse to give me a charge each month. I'm back in work now but even though i havent spent on it in a year and have paid all my bills it is still standing at the same amount it was a year ago because of the charges. I've just printed off the letter for subject access to send to the bank i have 2 accounts with them one i dont use anymore but is still active. Do i have to sent them 2 x £10 payments even though the accounts are at the same bank natwest but they are with different branches. cheers and nice to meet you all, i'm thinking i'll be on here a lot asking for your help!!!
