  1. ok, so they sent me a letter saying NOTICE TO KEEPER DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER. I responded by writing back to them telling them that as I had already appealed via email that was all they would get from me and either accept or reject and send me a popla code. Well today i recieved their response, They state that they responded to my emails asking for my address as they cannot consider my appeal without it, as I had failed to give them my address the appeal was rejected and due to that failure, no popla code will be supplied, they also state that as my appeal is outside of the timescale my letter of appeal is not being considered and no popla code given? So what do i do now? I responded the first time via email within 14 days as per the pnc which said i could appeal via email, I responded via post within 14 days of recieving their NOTICE TO KEEPER after they obtained my address from dvla..... so what now? i'm lost? help..... please.
  2. Many thanks, will send letter by first class recorded mail, thanks for all your support, I will respond when/if I hear more.
  3. Hi I did post last month when i first recieved this pcn, it said I could email them and so I did, but they then said they couldn't deal with it via email and I had to provide them with my postal address, I emailed them again with my evidence and asked why they hadn't answered my email and they wrote back saying because I had failed to provide them with a postal adress they had automatically rejected my appeal, I have now recieved a letter saying ' NOTICE TO KEEPER, DO NOT ignore THIS LETTER' what do I do now? do I write back and appeal again? This notice is very unclear as to what I should do? It says if I was not the driver and wish to challenge this pcn, then I have to write to them... I was the driver so what now? totally lost..... it also states under the heading Declaration of owner/driver that If I was not the owner of the vehicle stated herein etc etc Well where is the section saying If I was the driver and owner? that section doesn't exist? What should I do as it says I have 28 days to now pay £100....
  4. Hi, not sure what to do now, they refused to deal with me via email even though the pcn said I could email them so they rejected my appeal, I have now recieved a letter saying ' NOTICE TO KEEPER, DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER' what do I do now? do I write back and appeal again? This notice is very unclear as to what I should do? It says if I was not the driver and wish to challenge this pcn, then I have to write to them... I was the driver so what now? totally lost.....
  5. Everything I do is by the book, receipts, etc tax etc
  6. Many thanks, DVLA confirmed today that if my address is asked for by parkingprotection then they will give it, regardless of The hotel not being a member of BPA as the parking company are BPA approved even though it is a self ticketing operation.? in reply to the post about DVLA.
  7. Hi All, This is what I recieved today: Dear Mr We have responded to you more than once and as you have failed to provide a postal address your appeal has automatically been rejected. Regards Appeals Team No code popla code etc, and 16 days after the initial notice was placed on my car, so what should I do now please?
  8. Thanks for all this advice, I am not going to pay! I have advised dvla of my concerns too.
  9. I believe they are, because after appealing to parkingprotection I also emailed the Hotel in hope that they would see sense, the manager emailed back saying that I parked there for 30 minutes, my car was monitored and the charge has to stand. This led me to believe that indeed they are the same, Hotel and Parkingprotection.
  10. Thank you, I have spoken with popla and they seem to agree with me that my parking notice does state that I can appeal by email, yet parking protection have emailed me to say if I do not give them my address, they will reject my appeal and obtain it from dvla, this sounds like blackmail?
  11. Can anyone tell me please, do I have to give my address to them? thank you
  12. Hi thank you all who are trying to help me, I have appealed to them via email as stated on the ticket, byut they now say I must give them my address or else they will get it from dvla, do i have to give them my address? I haven't been given a code? Also i'm worried if I don't pay today they will put up the charge tomorrow to £100
  13. Other guests have stayed at this Hotel and been charged too by parkingprotect, apparently its the same company.
  14. Hi, my female friend/girl friend paid to stay in a Hotel, she doesn't drive. She asked me to come and see her as she was having trouble at home etc, she said there was parking there and that as she had booked a twin room, I could stay if I wanted to, she told me that her booking informed her there was parking available for guests, the tricky part is one section Booking conditions: it says free private parking is available on site (reservation is not needed) and then another part it says, A) there is no check in desk, remote door access codes are given, B)All reservations will be provided with 1 free car parking space. Guests must provide the car registration when they complete their reservation using the Special Requests box, or before arrival using the contact details found on the booking confirmation. Additional parking spaces must provide car registrations and an additional costs will be applicable. I have told them this, I even showed the copy of her booking, I was only there for approx 15 minutes, the company is NPE Parkingprotection. They say I was there for 30 minutes and I will have to pay the charge, All correspondance has been by email and now they want my address and if I don't give it they will obtain it from DVLA... What should I do as I only have today to pay it before it goes up to £100 then more.....
  15. I am very confused, as reading up on Trading standards they say that the max I am liable for in worse case would be the sum paid for the vehicle, I explained the fault and what the mechanic found, I didn't list the car with Aircon as most of this age tend not to work, the car had 6 months mot and 3 momnths tax. The car had a basic service as explained and also explained to the buyer that it was not stamped in the service book. I was under the impression that discs/pads which were all working satisfactory are wear and tear? any car 16 years or older would need new discs if you took it to a main dealer, in fact a main dealer would probably if asked find lots of things that would need replacing. The fact is and still remains that when I sold this vehicle, I test drove it for 150 miles, I used it myself for another 100 miles, the breaking sytem appeared to work as it should for age, it drove ok and got me from A to B. The only fault being a intermittent stutter from the engine which was diagnosed as a sensor, this was advertised and sold at a price to reflect this. Does this mean, that every 15 to 17 year old car I sell has to be guaranteed to be defect free for 6 months? cars of this age are going to need bits replacing as and when which I always explain to any buyer when they purchase a vehicle of this age. Also surely, if you take a 16 year old car to a Merc main dealer, they are going to charge 3 or 4 times more than your local garage?
  16. Hi, I am a part time car trader, I try to list cars as honest as I can, listing any known faults that I am aware of and telling any buyer of any known issues. I recently sold a 16 year old car for £2000, I had our local mechanic carry out a basic service, ie oil and all filters and all the breathers cleaned out as the car had a fault a sensor, this was all pointed out to the customer and he was happy to purchase the car, I even purchased a new sensor and gave this to the buyer. I sold the car on Ebay through buy it now option listed with sensor fault and 14 day full refund. After 2 weeks the buyer left me positive feedback, after 3 weeks the buyer texts me to say that after taking the car to the main dealer (Mercedes) the car needs to have discs and pads replacing, fan belt is worn, breather pipes are coated in oil and must be replaced, ball joints etc on wheels all worn and need changing, air con not working ,pipes corroded, and a couple of other items that are worn. Apparently this will cost in excess of £3000, I am also told that if the car was serviced I would have known all of these faults? The buyer never informed me that he was not happy with the car, in fact the buyer left me good feedback. So now I am being asked for money etc, What are my rights and do I have any? I have looked up on the internet which doesn't offer a clear insight, but it mentions that wear and tear items are not covered and I mentioned the fault etc? Help please! because I have always been a decent and honest person and I am about to quit dealing with cars but having several young children , mortgage etc I need the money.
