  1. Thanks, I will go on the site today and get all the forms and send off. I will keep this thread updated.
  2. Got my letter from Bh yesterday. They have said because I signed the forms and initialed the explanatory notes that they cannot refund me. Yes it was all signed by me because like a number of other people on this forum I was told I HAD to have them or I couldn't have the products. Is there any further action I could take?
  3. I've just sent another email with those details on and the reference number in the subject line.
  4. Well today was the deadline for brighthouse to reply and nothing was here so I'll be taking it further.
  5. Hi, I sent a letter to head office along with the spreadsheet forms detailing the payments. I received a letter back stating that they had received the form on the 22nd April and were looking into it. When would I be likely to get a reply? Is there a timeframe they have to adhere to? Thanks.
  6. I received my sar this morning from them with all my payment details on. i have paid osc and dlc and late payment charges over 26 months. how do i go about reclaiming these? is there a typical letter i send out? tia
  7. I worded it wrong, I am using one I found on here but wasn't sure if I needed to do two separate ones ( one for each item )
  8. Hi, im currently writing out a sar to brighthouse for my details. I have two items with them, do i have to do a seperate sar for each item and pay 20 pounds or do I put them both on the same sar and just list the reference numbers under each other and only pay ten pounds? thanks
  9. Hi, I recently got some great advice on here when I was being hassled by bh. I was advised to cancel osc so I've been into the store and filled a form in. I've been told I have to go in on Saturday. Any idea why this will be? Also I am going to send of for sar on Tuesday with the intent of reclaiming all previous osc that I have paid. Once I've received the sar what is my next step? I do not have any form of home or contents insurance, do I need dlc or can I cancel that as well? and if I can cancel can I reclaim that? I was told I had to have them or I couldn't have the products with no insurance. Thanks in advance
  10. I will never let anyone in my house from BH now i know my rights. received a lot of helpful advice on here and as soon as kids are in bed i will be writing some letters. i have been told to request a SAR. what is this?
  11. Bit of an update. Manager just phoned. I explained that I'm willing to pay but can't until Tuesday. He's put a note on my account stating that I will go in Tuesday and to leave me until then. There was a huge difference in his attitude from yesterday. Now just need to sort out osc etc
  12. Oh I will have my wits about me, I've been flicking through some of the threads on here and have learnt an awful lot about them. Ann Marie what info should I put in the email?
  13. I've been with them since the beginning of July 2012 so about 18 months now. How do I email you Ann Marie? I'm new to this site.
  14. Hi Ann Marie I have tried discussing it with the manager but he is adamant he will be removing the goods and is unwilling to wait til Tuesday for a payment. According to him they only allow you to be 5 days late before recovering goods. To be honest I'd prefer not to deal with him at all as his rudeness and arrogance is astounding. To the poster who offered help with claiming back osc etc(sorry I can't see your name as I'm on my phone) I have checked my contract and on one item I'm paying £3.55 a week osc and £1.95 dlc on the other item it is £1.50 osc as that's on a statement but I can't find the contract for that item to see how much dlc is. As I understand now osc is optional but what about dlc? I was told I had to have both as I don't have home insurance. I have been paying both since June 2012 if I didn't need any of these can I claim back up to that date?
  15. Thanks for the replies. I thought that was the case but wanted to confirm it. currently trying to get the kids ready for school but later on i will be drafting a couple of letters to claim back osc etc. is there a resource part of this site or anywhere else i can get a sample or template letter from? thanks
  16. Hi i have 2 items with brighthouse that cost 18.40 a week (including osc which after reading this forum i understand i didnt have to take out despite them insisting on it) the account should have been paid on saturday just gone but due to unforeseen circumstances i am unable to make a payment until next tuesday which will make it 2 weeks in arrears the following saturday. I have had a shop manager on my doorstep today telling me that if i dont pay by 12pm tomorrow (thursday 17th jan) that they will be taking my goods. in my contract it states in the repossession part if you do not keep your side of the agreement but you have paid at least one third of the total amount payable under this agreement, that is 438.88 we may not take back the goods against your wished unless we get a court order i have paid this amount and more. when i said this to the manager he told me that because it was worded "may not" instead of "can not" then he could take the goods with out a court order. am i right in thinking this is a load of tosh? i have told him the date i can pay it but hes being very arrogant about it and id like to know my rights in this as it all seems a bit wrong. Ive not received any letters or a default notice in writing only him phoning me but i missed his call and him on my doorstep. when he undoubtedly turns up to try and collect the goods do i have to let him into the property? thanks in advance
