  1. Have a look at the "new charge" thread in the Halifax forum, this person has had more charges since they filed and they have taken advise from the small claims court.
  2. Here are a few threads you may be interested in........... http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4807 http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3587 http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1707
  3. I'm sure if the boot was on the other foot they wouldn't stop the bailiffs going to your house because you "said" you had offered to pay.......
  4. Fantastic! Good for you Might be worth trying to get some media interest, they seem to like stories like that!
  5. I wouldn't worry too much about that, you can show you have asked for the information and you were refused, should it get to court (which is doubtful!)
  6. Hi there, I was concerned about the very same thing! http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1140 I think the answer is no... they can't recall your mortgage. Good luck with your claim!
  7. Not sure of the timescales but you get to send the bailiffs in!!
  8. Hi if you read the FAQ it will tell you where you can find all the relevent info you need. Good luck.
  9. I can totally understand you feeling nervous, I sent my prelim letter last Monday and had a sick feeling in my stomach, until I received the offer from them on Saturday!! Stick at it, read as much as you can and you willl be fine.
  10. The fact that you no longer bank with them with not affect your claim at all!! Good Luck.
  11. I don't know the answer to your question but just wanted to say well done!!!
  12. I would DEMAND they give you new account numbers, that account has obviously been compromised.
  13. TBH I would just let it run its course and then file with Money Claim if you don't hear anything. I wouldn't get into any conversations with them.
  14. Re: above post, must say they were quick in replying!! The have offered £145 ....... obviously not going to accept. Will keep you posted!
  15. Has money been stolen from her account? If yes, I would report it to the police, Halifax would probably take it more seriously then.
  16. Natwest told me they only say no if you are bankrupt, if they can open one for me they can open one for anyone!!
  17. Go ahead and do it anyway, the money you get back could pay your overdraft back without you borrowing!
  18. Read the step by step quide in the FAQ's it will give you a more indepth guide into what you need to do. It is quite daunting but the more knowledge you have the more confident you will feel when claiming.
  19. I've just opened another account with the Natwest (I have a terrible credit score), it may be better to open another account with a bank your not claiming from (yet)! It does get you out of that never ending loop of charges.
