  1. Hi all, Again many thanks for all of you're excellent help and advice. The council in question is Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council Thanks again B
  2. Hi. Thanks I will write to them again asking the questions you mention. Is there a template anywhere I could use?, also do I address it to the bailiff personally or just the company?.. many thanks B
  3. Hi, I have not asked them what items they levy'd upon yet as I only received they're letter this morning. I am self employed within the motor trade so yes they're is usually a few vehicles outside my home so he could have put one of them down, no notice of levy or seizure was posted, just a demand for money.. thnks again B
  4. Renegade, Thanks for the speedy response. He didn't even knock at the door, just posted his big red letter and drove off. No levy was performed as No contact occurred. I currently have my wife searching old paperwork for me as this is not the first time I've been ripped off by these people, 5 or 6 years ago I paid over £500 for a small amount of council tax... How would you suggest I attempt to get my money back?.. Thanks again. B
  5. Hi to you all, Just an update on this matter. I done as you advised and sent the letter to Jacobs requesting times and dates and so on, I didn't bother with the email but just sent the request by registered post to be signed for. Today I received a reply from them it reads as follows, Dear Mr @@@@@@ RE:COUNCIL TAX DUE TO COUNCIL We thank you for you're letter and the contents have been noted. At your request please find below a list of all bailiff calls, charges and bailiff details. December 3rd 2012 at 11.45am - First visit - Fee £24.50 December 5th 2012 at 9.31am - Second visit - Fee £18.00 The above visits were made by our first call bailiff Mr @@@@@@. Mr @@@@@@@ was certificated at Liverpool county court on blah blah. April 22nd 2013 at 9.56am Enforcement call - Fee's incurred - attendance fee £160.00, Levy Fee £28.00, Schedule 5 Fee - £24.50 (this fee was charged in error and was later refunded to your debit card.). This visit was made by our enforcement bailiff Mr @@@@@@, who was also certified at Liverpool CC on blah blah date. We hope that this has answered your queries. Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us again. What a pack of lies. The only visit made to my house was the april one where no levy was performed, just a hand delivered threatening letter demanding 375.00. Where do I go from here? Thanks to you all in advance and keep up the good work. B
  6. Hi all, TV detector vans are simply full of seats, no detection equipment or such like, simply a chariot for the purveyance of BBC agents going about they're daily criminal duties.... Time to fight back!!. B
  7. Hi Renegade, Thanks again, He didn't leave any other paperwork ref:-Levy or otherwise!. Would my next move be to contact these crooks directly or the local council who contracted them?. Many thanks B
  8. Hi renegade Thanks for you're speedy reply. If he'd peformed a levy on my vehicles would/should he have left paperwork regarding this??. Thanks again B
  9. Hi all, I've been reading posts on this forum for a few months now and the advice and help given to people who are having problems with finances which are made a lot worse by bailiff fee's being lumped on top of debts they already struggle to pay is brilliant. Keep up the good work. I am currently having a few debt problems of my own, being self employed I think it goes with the job!. Lately I seem to be just working to pay bills. My first request for advice is not an urgent one as I paid the amount demanded before I found this forum It was a few months ago I was off work ill for almost 2 months so had fallen behind with a few bills, one of which was my council tax, I owed £121 in council tax, before I got chance to earn the money to pay it I received a hand delivered letter from a company called Jacobs at 7am one morning, he didn't knock on the door as my two dogs would have let us know, In massive red numbers £375.00 in 48hrs or we'll return to remove goods to the value!. Not knowing any different I phoned the number and paid it!, by debit card, a few days later I noticed on my internet banking that they had put £24.50 back into my account. My car and work van were both parked outside when he posted the letter, the van having my name on the side, My question is can they really charge more than £250 to drop off one letter?. Many thanks in advance! B
