    HSBC & Moorgate

Thanks for the reply, I have been through them all and they are all above board and legally enforceable. I cant find the paperwork for this specific one but all the others for moorgate (including another hsbc) say they have been bought by Britannica and collected by Moorgate. I guess I will jsut have to call hsbc back in the morning and find out whats going on. Am I right in thinking they cant take the money and pass onto Moorgate if they have sold it?

    HSBC & Moorgate

Hi, I am a little confused about something and was hoping someone can help. I have been on a dmp for the last few years and one of my debts was an hsbc credit card. As far as I am aware the debt was sold to brittanic recoveries and then being serviced by Moorgate along with another of my debts (MBNA). However, today my HSBC debit card was declined and I was locked out of internet banking. I called HSBC and they said it was related to my credit card account but that department was closed. After insisting on an answer I was told that the accoiunt was frozen and funds allocated to my cc debt. My question is are they allowed to do this if the debt has been sold to someone else? Seems a little odd to me. Thanks Tim
  3. Thanks, Will talk to CCCS and then decide on the best way to go, think taking over the management of the DMP whilst also trying to get some of them to go away seems my preference at the moment. Been browsing for info most of the evening and just come across a post saying if the creditor is offering a discount then generally something is wrong their end. This struck a cord with me as I am constantly getting letters from Experto and Moorgate (both MBNA CC's) offering to match my payments for additional payments above the arrangement. That could be positive
  4. Thanks for that, I will check with CCCS to ask if they have done anything before I decide on what to do. I have just logged into my equifax account to see if it had the start dates and thankfully it does. It turns out a few are after apr 2007. Capital One 10/2008 Moorgate (MBNA) 9/2007 Barclaycard 3/2008 Experto (MBNA) 2/2009 Anything I can do with these as they are the biggest ones really!
  5. Thanks for the reply. Did the dmp or yourself ask for full breakdowns of the debt? I certainly didn't and to be honest I have no idea if CCCS did. I was more than a little stressed at the time so when they said they could help I just kind of left them to it! Did you check and see if the creditors had the correct paperwork to enforce the debts? Again, I didn't and I have no idea if CCCS did. Did you check to see if there are any penalty fee's/PPI etc that you can reclaim at THEIR interestrates? No, there won't be any PPI as I have definetly never had it and have always made a point of making sure it was not on anything I signed up for. Could you list the debts and the amounts owed/Names of original creditors/current DCA/dates etc? I certainly can, all below, the only thing missing is the original date I took out the agreement. Most will be 2001-2006 a lot of which will have been online applications. Creditor name - Estimated balance - Original Lender CAPITAL ONE (EUROPE) LTD - £7,042.29 - CC MOORGATE LOAN SERVICING LTD - £6,101.17 - MBNA (Virgin CC) BARCLAYCARD - £3,581.33 - CC EXPERTO CREDITE - £3,425.74 - MBNA (Alliance Leicester CC) METROPOLIT COLLECTION SERV'S - £3,371.91 - HSBC (CC) CAPQUEST DEBT RECOVER - £1,897.72 - Bank of Sotland (Marbles CC) LOWELL FINANCIAL LTD - £1,774.30 - Bank of Sctotland (Loan) SHOP DIRECT - £880.85 - Littlewood Catalogue NEXT DIRECTORY - £390.46 - Catalogue Thanks again
  6. Hi All, Wasn't quite sure where to post so though a general area would suit. I am after some advice as to the best way to approach a lot of debts I have. I have for the last 2 1/2 years been completing a DMP via CCCS but was wondering if there was a better way. The payment I make them is jsut about manageable but leaves nothing left over and is still over 7 years off completion What I was wondering was if I stopped this entirely and had a go at getting them written off. I done this successfully around 8 years ago with some old statute barred debts from when I was a teenager but not really sure if it is feasible for debts I have been paying regularly for the last 5 years, albeit at reduced payment for the last 2 1/2. I dont mind putting the effort in if I stand a realistic chance of getting some of them removed but I would rather avoid spending time on them if there is little or no chance. Any advice gratefully received. Tim
