  1. Received another letter today from another DCA named Ruthbridge regarding an outstanding debt from the same period owed to G E Capital. I'll treat this the same as the one above. Anyone know of any reason why this may have happened? Both so close together?
  2. Thanks Cerberusalert, this will come in handy!
  3. Thanks Freakyleaky I've found the letter, you've been a great help!
  4. Hi, Today I rang Equidebt back and I told them this debt would be statute barred, I told them it is not showing on my Credit file so why are they chasing me for payment? They said they will continue to chase until it is cleared regardless, they said they will continue to send letters and phone me etc. Can anyone give me any suggestions where to go from here? Or do I just sit back and let the letters/phone calls not bother me? Thanks for all your help!
  5. Many thanks for your help. If I have any further problems I'll be back!
  6. I think the last time I made payment on this would have been in 1999/2000, its been so long ago I forget.
  7. Hi, Today I received a letter from Equidebt asking me to call them so I did. It seems I am outstanding a debt from October 2001 to Dickens and Jones (House of Fraser) which I never repaid in full. The current balance is £236 which I imagine has gathered numerous charges etc but I would like to here from anyone who can give me advice on this. Should I arrange a payment plan with them? I definately cannot afford to pay this in full. Can they send in balliffs to recover? I'm starting to worry so would appreciate any help. Many thanks.
  8. Hi, I wondered if anyone can help me please. I have a balance of approx £2500 with Isme who are hitting me for sometimes 2 minimum payments within a calendar month which I cannot pay. I can afford one payment but two is ridiculous and it is starting to worry me (numerous bad nights sleep). I find it so unfair that they can change their terms and condtions like this and force these payments on you. Would appreciate any advice guys, thank you so much!
  9. Thanks Locutus, I'll send an email to their CEO tonight. I'm worried that if I just leave this I'll end up with a CCJ at my old address when I've just managed to get 5 years clean on my credit report, do you not think it could end up in court and me getting a CCJ?
  10. I agree with you Maxx but I was told by a BT employee that they would send me a final statement. From that I assumed as one would that the account was closed.
  11. Thanks guys I'll send them a complaint letter. I wont however mention the part about tenants moving in afterwards and using the services as they would only have to look into the account to see its not been used. I'll report back soon... I imagine this is not the last I've heard of this worry. Thank you once again!
  12. I've a new contract at my new address with Virgin.
  13. No one has moved into the address since I moved out as the building is being renovated. I guess they are billing me for services (phone/bt vision/broadband) they think I am using... as they are saying I never cancelled my account.
  14. Hi, I was under the impression that I had cancelled my BT account last November before I moved address. I first cancelled my direct debit and a few days later I had a call from BT asking why did I cancel my dd, I said I wished to close this account as I was moving, the lady said no problems I'll send you your final bill (unfortunately I didnt take her name as back up). Today I wake to find a new statement from BT via email asking for £176.82 for services etc, as you can imagine I'm pretty annoyed as I thought this account had been closed. I rang customer services and they said the account was never closed in November and that I have to pay the amount stated but they would cancel it now and send my final bill. As you can imagine I'm rather cross about this, this is one more bill I can do without, I've recently moved address and to be honest money is very tight. The address I lived at where the account was is now under renovation and I'm not sure whether or not my old address will even exist in future... do you think I should just ignore this? (they dont have my new address) Plus I've recently checked my credit report and it says I never even had a credit agreement with BT at my old address which seems strange. Hope someone can help me with my moan... lifes is stressful enough! Thank you.
