  1. Hi All Hope someone can advise me. Due to a run of bad luck and illness this year, i have found myself in debt to EON and British Gas. EOn were fantastic, pre payment fitted and set at £5 per week on the debt as I am on benifits, job done. British Gas, different story. Way back in June, spoke several times with BG, decided best option was a pre paynent meter. Letter of confirmation arrived, Paynent card arrived, then nothing. Severel phone calls later, several months passing by, and debt rising, was informed by British Gas, they could not fit pre payment as it wasn't their meter. They did not make any attempt to tell me this, it was only our phone calls that prompted this information. So, on we go, early November now, they offered monthly direct debit, set way too high at £207 per month, but i didn't seem to have a choice. I have a few hundred quid and thought I could manage to pay a couple of months and hope for an upturn in fortunes. So, direct debit form arrives, I fill it in and send it off, then..........nothing, no direct debit set up. Now receiving disconnection notices. I have e mails, confirmation of pre payment meter, pre payment card, diarised phone call events. I don't know if I could defend a warrant on the above information, but i would certainly turn up suited and booted, with all the information and give it my best shot. The problem is my meter is outside the house, very easily accessable. The question is, can they turn up and cut off the supply without a warrant as they would not have to gain access to the house, and any advise on how to deal with this would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks in anticipation.
  2. Thank you Brigadier This is really becoming a nightmare I can prove where i have lived for as long as they require the information, I can't understand how they can possibly mix up the address, how can I live in 2 places at the same time? it seems they just look at the name and D.O.B which is obviously the same. how can the onus be on me to prove who somebody else is? I have a fear that my sister may be planning to move to bulgaria, bet she has a right old spending spree before she goes. Experian just keep repeating the same old mantra, " we need some proof who she is" although when i mentioned data protection the bloke did stutter a little. S
  3. Hello All I hope somebody can help me brake through a brick wall! My problem is this.......I have a twin sister, the same in looks, but chalk and cheese in personality and outlook. After being turned down for credit on a couple of occasions i asked for my credit report. My name is Mary ........ ..... my sisters name is Mary .... ..... Strange i know, but I have my mother to thank for that, in everyday life we both use our middle name On receiving the info from experian it was apparent that the credit file had been completely mixed up between the 2 of us, although we live in different towns. Nearly all the items on my file belong to my sister, and she has defaulted on them all, my file would be "clean" I have sent all my info to Experian, proof of address etc but they are saying that i must send proof of who my sister is, copy of passport etc, the problem is we don't speak, and i have been told by a relative that there is no chance she would help, why should she? she can obtain credit, I can't Why do I have to prove who somebody else is? I have tried to play the data protection card, obviously i can see her fle, and if she asked, she could see mine, but to no avail, they say they will try to sort the matter, but really need proof of who my sister is. In the meantime my credit rating becomes worse by the day. Is there a letter template or something which will force the issue, i am becoming increasingly desparate and worried S
