  1. I repaid Mr Lender in full around 3 months ago, on time etc. And that was the end of that. Until on Friday when they tried to ring my work mobile. I didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number, but a Google later and a text / email later I find they were ringing to offer me a loan of up to £xxx (I forgot now!) and they would waive the same day transfer fee (That made me laugh). Anyway as far as I see it they are now offering me loans which I didn't request, and it is drawing a very close line to harassment. How can I go about telling them to bugger off? I've got a few other companies on my list sending text messages / emails which I would like to resolve too but the telephone calls are pushing the limit.
  2. Settled with Wonga earlier today, which means I'm now 100% payday loan free just in time for 2012!
  3. They've probably put a sneaky clause in their terms that you agreed to when you agreed to the loan. For the sake of 1 days interest I would just pay them in full and never think about using them again! Generally I found the payday lenders were a bit hit and miss with early repayment - Wonga for example seem to encourage early repayment and can all be done self service, Mr Lender wouldn't budge so I gave them a dose of their own medicine by not repaying them until the due date even though I could have paid them off 3 weeks early, and The Loan Store had no problems with me using the 14 days clause to save me some interest on that loan.
  4. I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributes on this website, in particular this PDL sub section. My PDL trap started because I developed a gambling addiction. And when I can sign up to a website, fill in a few fairly simple forms and have £400 sitting in my bank account 15 minutes later what is there to lose? Screw the interest charges, because I'll have turned that £400 into thousands with a bit of gambling. And a familiar story then took over, I gambled away one PDL, so took another out to 'cover' the other PDL yet gambled that one too, you get the picture. I sort of kept on top of all the repayments etc so on the whole they never really reached the stage of threatening me with false legal action etc, although I suddenly realized most of my pay was starting to go to these companies in rollover charges alone so I had no chance of paying off the actual loans! Of course during this rollercoaster ride I got my 'huge wins' from time to time with gambling, yep you guessed it they went straight back in the machines! I admitted my gambling addiction to my parents on Friday 28th October 2011 after losing close to my entire October wage in one day on Thursday 27th October 2011 and wrote down exactly what I owed to all the various PDL companies (I have other debts but since this is the PDL forum I'll just concentrate on those): Payday loans copied and pasted from my notes on the 28th October so any reference to 'today' refers to that date 1monthloan : Original loan £300, due to make a £90 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £390 plus they've already whacked on a £12 'late fee' PaydayUK : Original loan £480, due to make a £120 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £600 I think? All that shows up on the website is the rollover fee so I can't be 100% accurate on that. Payday Express : Original loan £400, due to make a £100 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £500. Think these 'try' for 7 days before getting nasty? Speedy Dosh : Original loan £200, due to make a £62.50 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £267.50. Got an email saying if they can't take payment a £125 fee will be stuck on after 3 days!!! So these could be fairly tricky customers to deal with? QuickQuid : Original loan £850, due to make a £191.25 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £1041.25 Wonga : Original loan £1085, Already on a payment plan with these. £117.76 a month with 7 mionths left = £942.08. This is fine, as it is the original loan amount plus one month interest. Toothfairy Finance : Original loan £400, rolled over 24/10/11, currently owe £544 Txtloan : Original loan £200, owe £234 Wage Day Advance : Original £150, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £194.25 Mini Credit : Original £150, rolled over 07/10/11, currently owe £198 The Loan Store : Original £500, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £625 Mr Lender : Original £300, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £390 Without calculating it all up again, the figure came to just under £6000 There was simply no way I could have ever got myself out of that! Anyway with the help of my parents, the lot of them have now been cleared apart from Wonga as no point in paying them any quicker with the repayment plan in place while other debts are building up interest. I realize not everybody here has parents who can just 'bail them out' like I did. Although 'bail me out' means they've got me out of the trap that was about to get a lot worse, I'll be repaying them back in full over the next year of course. But it was the posts and members on this site that pushed me to wake up to what I had got myself into with the PDLs and admit everything in the first place, I cannot thank you enough. Another positive is Sunday evening around 6pm will be exactly a month 'gamble free'
  5. Has anyone had any luck in getting Mr Lender to offer a discount in interest for early repayment? I took out a £300 loan last month, on the 26/10/11 paid £90 to extend it and would like to repay in full tomorrow. They did email to advise it would be £390 but most of my other PDL companies have given me interest reduction for the early payment
  6. Sold an item on eBay, it was sent slightly late as the item initially had a fault which I resolved before sending (Computer hardware) now by this time the buyer had opened one of those eBay Protection Case things. Despite providing eBay / PayPal with full tracking information which can be viewed on the TNT website including electronic signature of the person who signed for the item they refused to listen and ended up refunding the buyer £162.09 which is what this 'Newman Debt Collection' are now chasing. I have made several attempts to get in touch with the buyer however they have not responded. Please could anybody advise as I refuse to pay back eBay / PayPal £162.09 when I'm in serious debt issues of my own and have sent the item and had no communication from the buyer to suggest they were not happy with the item!
  7. Just looking for advice if I can claim any HSBC fees back? Had a gambling addiction and HSBC continually let me go over my overdraft limit - At worst I had a £750 'agreed' overdraft and managed to go around £500 above this! Recently they have made it so I have my £750 overdraft and if I exceed that I can go overdrawn £50.00 max however even when I do this they're charging me when I'm sure I read somewhere they have a '£50 charge free' buffer? Basically anything I can claim back would be great as it helps clear my debt!
  8. Just a general question: When I have with the help of my parents cleared off all my payday loan amounts, I would like to get in touch with every single one of them and ask that they close any of my accounts and remove any of my details on file. As I'm a 'VIP' with several of them and once they are all cleared I don't want them texting me, phoning me, emailing me, writing to me, I wouldn't even lend 1p from them! Is there any letter templates I can send to them all to achieve this?
  9. I don't feel like I'm going to get very far with Minicredit, if I can't get the message through on phone e-mail won't be much easier? All I want to do is pay them off! Surely they have to offer another way of payment other than debit card? Most of the other companies have gladly provided their bank transfer details. The ones left to do next week...could anybody shed some light on if I will be able to save any interest by paying these 'early'? Toothfairy Finance : Original loan £400, rolled over 24/10/11, currently owe £544 Wage Day Advance : Original £150, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £194.25 Mr Lender : Original £300, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £390 (I got a response back from these stating I owe them £390 no matter if I pay early so not looking likely?) The Loan Store : Original £500, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £625. I got a response from these saying they can't offer an early payment figure but I can withdraw from the agreement within 14 days (I'm guessing they mean within 14 days of the 'new' loan issued on 26/10/11?) then I would just be paying them the original loan plus daily interest up to the date paid. Would appreciate some guidance on this.
  10. Sorted: Payday UK Payday Express QuickQuid TxtLoan 1MonthLoan Looking to pay off Minicredit early - However I'm stuck! Phoned them up to be told they can't take a payment from my mums debit card over the phone and I then tried changing the card details online as suggested to my mums which didn't work either. All I want for them to do is either take their payment over the phone using my mums debit card details or give me their bank details so she can do a transfer! There is no way I can transfer funds to my bank account as it'll be getting attacked!
  11. Will this short email be of any use? I am looking to repay my loan in full the original amount plus 1 month interest please could you provide your bank details via email so I can arrange for this to happen within the next 14 days. Thank you
  12. I have admitted my gambling addiction to my parents this morning - They already had a feeling. Anyway I have other channels to support my recovery from that, in the meantime they want to know about all my payday loans so they can get them cleared so I'm not carrying on with their huge interest etc. Could anyone advise on the below - If any will charge less interest if paid off early etc (Some I already know): Due 'today' (Getting a lot of hassle, I would appreciate your advice. My parents want a final figure so they can settle these in full ASAP but it will be a few days before they arrange the funds) 1monthloan : Original loan £300, due to make a £90 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £390 plus they've already whacked on a £12 'late fee' PaydayUK : Original loan £480, due to make a £120 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £600 I think? All that shows up on the website is the rollover fee so I can't be 100% accurate on that. Payday Express : Original loan £400, due to make a £100 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £500. Think these 'try' for 7 days before getting nasty? Speedy Dosh : Original loan £200, due to make a £62.50 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £267.50. QuickQuid : Original loan £850, due to make a £191.25 rollover payment today which declined, currently owe £1041.25 Not due 'today' (So a bit of breathing space) Wonga : Original loan £1085, Already on a payment plan with these. £117.76 a month with 7 mionths left = £942.08. This is fine, as it is the original loan amount plus one month interest. Toothfairy Finance : Original loan £400, rolled over 24/10/11, currently owe £544 Txtloan : Original loan £200, owe £234 Wage Day Advance : Original £150, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £194.25 Mini Credit : Original £150, rolled over 07/10/11, currently owe £198 The Loan Store : Original £500, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £625 Mr Lender : Original £300, rolled over 26/10/11, currently owe £390 Hope that is all of them, my parents want full and final figures to pay the lot of them off, so I would appreciate any advice on how to tackle them? For example can I just get in touch with them all and say I'm prepared to settle with them right now for the original loan plus one month interest? Now I've admitted my addiction I can finally break out of the hole with these companies but I need advice fairly quickly on how to get them paid fair amounths. Also I need to pay them all without using any form of debit cards as they'll just be attacking them constantly, do all the above accept bank transfer?
  13. OK, tried again this morning and nipped to the bank to ensure there was £80 clear funds in my accountThis time it let me 'extend' the loan for £72 and once I did that my loan status is now showing as owing them £472 so when I clear that on Wednesday I'll have paid the correct £544 which is the £400 plus one month interest. Is that correct? Presumably because I've 'extended' it for another two weeks they'll be moaning I actually owe them £616 but the website clearly shows I owe £472 after processing the rollover payment!
  14. Also the last time I extended my loan I received a letter in the post shortly after stating I was 'overdue' and they were to default me if I didn't pay up sharpish! The problem was they addressed this letter to "Mr (surname)" so my Dad opened it. Surely they breached guidelines by doing this!
  15. I have a £400 loan with Toothfairy due tomorrow - Now I don't get paid until Wednesday 26th so am prepared to extend it for £72 as after this month I will never require their services again. Anyway I went to the website, signed in, tried to submit the extension payment and...after going through the 'Visa secure code' stage it tries to redirect me to the TF website only to receive some form of SQL database error! As far as I'm aware the funds haven't been taken as I haven't received an email to say they have, I actually have a feeling the transaction may have been declined by my bank as I was hoping they would allow the transaction to make my account slightly overdrawn as I won't have chance to pop to the bank with the £72 until tomorrow being Sunday today! But since I get this SQL error, I can't tell either way really! So where do I stand legally if their website has an error? If I offer them the full £544 on Wednesday 2 days late how many fees will they slap on? I don't mind a small late fee but I will be very annoyed if they start throwing fees on left right and centre! Thanks
  16. At the moment I have 2 current accounts with HSBC each with a £750 overdraft on (So £1500). Anyway one of them I keep fairly under control, but my other is linked to my debit card and without getting into specifics I have had a gambling addiction in the past therefore it was far too easy to walk up to a cash machine even having hit the £750 and withdraw more resulting in fees! Now I take full responsibility for these fees and have in the past managed to pay them off. However, ironically now I'm trying to quit gambling I'm struggling a little! This morning over £110 in fees were taken from me and since my overdraft was at the limit I'm now going to struggle until payday! I also owe them £230 (Was due on 29th September) for my final loan payment of a £2500 loan which I took out last year which again I simply cannot afford to provide them with at the moment!Any advice? I did try to increase my 'official' overdraft limit online but got turned down! Which is a bit of a catch 22 really since they'll still happily let me go over my limit and whack on fees! (Although at the moment they seem to have locked me down to £50 buffer which I don't think incurs charges?)
  17. Thank you all for your advice. I have tried Gamblers Anonymous several times but it has not worked for me, just seems to go in one ear out the other. The medication sounds like a route I may look into further as I believe I suffer depression in other areas of life. And I have life savings which my parents have control of, so I think the next step is trying to gather my thoughts and admitting it to them or at least one of them certainly before the next pay day. Maybe my Mum as she goes to bingo so could maybe understand more about a gambling addiction. Feel a lot better for just posting something, and if the worse comes to the worst my credit file is wrecked for 6 years. But I'm only 23 so hopefully sorting out my difficulties now will teach me a valuable life lesson!
  18. Sorry for the joined up post every time I post it with correct formatting it just seems to put everything together in a big chunk?
  19. Up until Wednesday 28th September I was a gambling addict. On Monday 26th September I got paid, by the early evening on that day I had gambled £1000 of my pay away. Yet by Wednesday 28th September I had gambled a further £600, at one point winning £595 back however I'm sure there are some CGs on here and as you know I walked out with £0 apart from just enough to scrape a taxi home. This was my light bulb moment and I now realize there is no way I can continue this habit so have sat down and wrote down my debts, many of which involve PDLs. Here is a rough breakdown, sorry it is note format but provides my current debts, and when they are due (Many have not 'defaulted' apart from Wonga as I have stupidly just been rolling them over) pduk £600.00 28/10/11 pdexpress £100.00 28/10/11 £500.00 28/11/11 qquid £191.25 28/10/11 £1062.50 28/11/11 speedyd £255 28/10/11 mrl £390.00 26/10/11 won £117.76 18/10/11 (plan)minic £193.50 8/10/11 toothf £544 24/10/11 wda £194.25 26/10/11 mum 3000 + 300 + 600 + 185 + 220barclaycard 2000 (approx £50 min payment per monthcapital one 750 (approx £10 min payment per month) hsbc 231.49 29/09/11 11.23 10/10/11 111.44 10/10/11 (last installment of a £2500 loan I had and fees for informal ODs etc) hsbc 1500 (2x750 ods)I'm pretty sure I'm missing one but will add later if I find I have. My take home pay is £1400 a month of which around £100 needs to be taken for travel and £185 for rent to mum (The 185 above is an overdue payment)Help!
