  1. Please can anyone help - I have looked at various treads and I cannot seem to find the answer.
  2. Hi Anyone., When I put in my claim to the bank I included the Monthly Account fee which is currently £10/mth. I appreciate that we are being advised to only claim for charges, however I have claimed this fee as we have no benefit from it, we have never used any of the services, and quite frankly we have never been encouraged to. In other words we do not have regular information from the bank, to remind us that in fact this services exist, the only reason I know about it is because of this site, so to me they are a charge on my account. When I continue with my claim which is due to be started through the court tomorrow, if I were to continue to include these fees would it be seen as an excuse to be thrown out. As you can understand I do not want to proceed along a route that could be a waste of time. Anyones thoughts would be much appreciated especially if anyone out there has also claimed them and been successful. Ta everso!!!
  3. Hi, I'm glad someone out there is blessed with some sanity, you are right phoning would be easier. If I were to chase them through the normal channels then I would be lowering myself to their level - god forbid. Thanks.
  4. I have only had my Barclaycard for a short period of time and the credit limit is very low!. In the first month I accidently went over my limit by £10 and consiquently suffered a £20 charge. So I took the flack after all it was my fault for not adding up properly, until I found this site. I have a claim against Barclays in motion at the moment and so I wrote to Barclaycard to ask for the £20 back. How naive was I to believe that they would pay it back without a problem???? I had a letter from them saying the usual 'Sorry you are not happy with this etc.,etc., we will get back to you by 9th August'. Now then, how much did the admin cost to send this letter and basically say 'No way Jose' for a £20 claim. So in summary I am going to push all the way on this one because I cannot believe how damned petty their response was. Would be interested to hear other peoples views on this.:-|
  5. Hi, Firstly can I say well done, it keeps my faith in the saying "What goes around comes around". Secondly, I too would be interested to know what you said in your email, and how long would you say the whole process took after you placed them in court. The only reason I ask is that I will no doubt be starting my Money Claim process next Monday and although I have read many of the threads on here it all gets a bit blurred on the time frame. Ta everso!
  6. Thanks Rooster - I can see where you are coming from. I really do appreciate all the help I can get. Ta everso!!!
  7. Hi all., I have written the attached letter and I just want to run it by you guys to see if you think it is okay. Attention: Rose Frimet, Head Office Customer Relations, 1 Churchill Place, London. E14 5HP Dear Madam., Sort: xxxxxxx Account: xxxxxxxx We thank you for your letter of 12th of July and willingly accept your offer of £1000 on account. We look forward to the receipt of the above amount along with the balance of £3105.17 being paid into our account within the next seven days. Obviously should we not receive the above by 25th July 2006, we will have no other alternative than to continue our claim against you through the courts. We thank you for your assistance in this matter.
  8. Hi the only interest you quote at this stage is any that the bank may have already charged you on the £20 - £30 pound that they have charged you for going over your limit or whatever. eg. £25 charged for returning cheque + interest at 0.79% (this is what we have been charged) 20p to add. If you list your charges on a Spreadsheet then in a column next to it list your interest claim as I have put above. (To find out what interest is relevant to you look at the bottom of your statements they state the rate anywhere from 0.79% to 1.45% depending on how far back you are claiming). You will then have your totals ready for your letter. The 8% is not claimed until you go to court. Hope this helps.
  9. Thanks for that, I really appreciate the advice - stupid question really but would you take that 7 days from today or when the 14 day limit on the LBA is up, I have read threads similar to this and have not known how to respond.
  10. Hi I need a little bit of help please - the bank have offered me £1k as a goodwill gesture and their time limit is up after the LBA let on Monday 17th July. I am not going to accept as they owe us a lot more than that. What I need to know is:- 1). Do we say thanks but no thanks and give them another 14days or 2). Say thanks but no thanks and continue with Money claim on Monday? All thoughts would be gratefully received.
  11. Just want to add my name to the long list of Congratulations. For years people have had to put up with this c**p and it is great to see that finally we have a way of reclaiming it. Way to go Icefall!!!!!
  12. Hi all., Just to let you know that I have already sent letter one and received a polite letter from Barclays and a particularly BLUE leaflet detailing their charges etc.,. and saying they would get back to me by 14th July, a bit late when their 14days were up on 30th June. I have today sent my Letter B4 Action with a little alteration in the first paragraph stating that they had not replied satisfactorily to my letter of 16/06. So we shall see how we go on now. Good Luck to one and all in the same boat, keep paddling and we will scupper them. Oh ARGH!
  13. Hi., The warranty was for a 12 month period only. It was to replace a warranty given by the garage we bought her from as they are 120 mile round trip. There may be a copy of it on the website, I have never looked. Thanks for your post.
  14. Have just been to the post office and sent my claim letter recorded delivery for £4k +. Lets hope all works out well in the end. Thanks for the site guys - will donate more when they have settled. Positive thoughts!!!!!!
  15. Hi, Hope someone out there can help. We purchased a Vectra in December 2005 and bought with it a RAC Warranty at an extra cost of £250. Since then we have had various repairs done on her our cost not a problem. However we have since found out that the car needs a new fuel tank due to the swirlpot being broken (I nearly said something else then) this is going to cost £437 + vat to replace. When we rang the RAC they said not their problem if it is not listed in the warranty then it is not covered. We have found that in fact the warranty is literally not worth the paper it is printed on with regards to what it covers. My question is can we pursue the RAC more fervently because it doesn't list it in the warranty as not being covered. It lists everything else. Regards:???:
