  1. Sorry to resurrect this thread. We have heard nothing from this since last January now they are starting with the letters again. They have upped the payment they want too. No correspondence since last year from either grand holidays or Daniel Silverman. As oap they cannot pay £6000 well euros
  2. Now randomly I have a water bill delivered this morning so at least I have an account number. It's dated from the day I got in touch with them billed as a new move. £390.70 for arrears and £111 from now till March. I will now pay this and have it cleared for March. Should I now ignore scottcall even though they have my address? Have UU billed me for what they know they can get back and have sold on the other because of the length of time ? I'm confused
  3. I don't have one Ive been through all my bills so I don't even know my account detail only keep two years at a time and havnt had one then
  4. Well sometimes needs must and to give myself a better life I gave up my crappy job went to university and worked my backside off on a bursary which was a pittance. Keeping a roof over mine and my child's head was my priority. Now I have a stable job I want to repay what I owe. I am well aware it will be a lot and thought I would be able to deal with UU direct I just wanted advice on this other company. If UU are telling me to pay scottcall is this what I have to do
  5. Initially yes but they got few and far between definatley haven't heard from them in the last year
  6. The emails say their client is UU and UU have directed me to deal with scottcall not themselves
  7. I was initially getting letters from UU but they stopped (can't remember when) I have only had emails from scottcall after I approached UU no letters haven't given them my number but they have my address
  8. Nothing odd in it. I want to be debt free, and had got in touch with UU I then got emails off both Scottcall and UU the same day. I then mentioned the name scottcall and my friend had read something about them. I googled them and now I'm worried because they seem like a frightening company
  9. Moved in this house 8 years ago paid for two years. Started uni money right and listened stupidly to an ex who said don't pay it they won't cut you off so didn't. Now I just want to get it sorted. Emailed them and they are not interested at all just gave me scottcalls number. Emailed back and said this is the debt I want to sort to pay future usage to which they replied we will not deal with your account until the debt is paid
  10. Plus after talking to United utilities I sent them my details now I'm scared they are going to call round
  11. I've been in touch with United utilities they won't discuss it and have given me the number for scottcall and said deal with them direct
  12. Hi I received an email from scottcall to discuss a debt I knew it could only be one thing as I stupidly have not paid my water bill. (ILL advised by an ex) I got in touch with United utilities who replied saying they had instructed scottcall to take over the account. They would even let me set up payment for future water and said they wouldn't deal with the account until scottcall tell them it's clear. I know I owe this and want to be sent free but it will be a big amount and I can't pay it outright. I'm worried after hearing awful things about this company and I did reply to their email after finding out that it was the United utilities debt. What is the best way to deal with this company
  13. brief update, we wrote to the company and the debt people stating they had relinquished the timeshare in 2009 and had not been since and they had re let those weeks etc etc. We gave them 28 days to reply. the debt collectors never got in touch but they have received a letter from a spanish lawyer (but on plain paper with no letter head) its 4 pages of legal jargon which we dont understand. It keeps reiterating you have enjoyed it from 2012 to present day but they havnt been since 2009. More worringly it states they are ith contract till 2070 - they are both 65 and retired now . Not sure what to do next
  14. Thank you I think she had found something on Spanish laws and timeshares. Basically they have sold her weeks and now want her to pay also
  15. The postal letter came today exactly the same as the email, said 7 days to pay. Letter dated 2nd Jan . Thank you for your reply
  16. Hi i am looking for help for my inlaws, they held a timeshare in tenerife for approx 20 or so years. The same two weeks in october, in october 2009 they had their last holdiay and approached the then management. The apartment had not been decorated in numerous years, the kitchen cupboards were hanging off and they were generally dis-satisfied with the whole set up. They took a phone call on their return to the uk and stated they were not renewing the two weeks and would not be returning. In 4 years they have not had any correspondence, no requests for any fees nothing. They continue to holiday in tenerife and her brother lives there. The two weeks initially bought have been continually let out to other families and has not been empty on their designated 2 weeks since sept 2009. It the meantime grand holidays have taken over the flamingo club. Now in dec 13 she received an email from daniel silverman asking for £5000 for the timeshare, they contacted CAB who told them to sit tight. Today they recieved a letter dated 2.1.14 from the same company asking for the same amount within 7 days (which has obviously passed). They have no idea what to do, no communication for 4 years then this. They are now both retired with only pensions to live on and both out of their mind with worry. Help what can they do
  17. I am totally at my wits end with Harvey's over a dining table and chairs set and looking for advice. I bought this on the 19th October 2012 for £500 plus £50 delivery. After 4 weeks received a phone call to say it would be delivered on a set day, i asked to change days as i was working and was told no so i took a days holiday from work. It never turned up, i got a phone call the following day to say the van had broken down and someone would be intouch. After a few weeks and numerous emails and phone calls a new delivery date was booked (again when they said and again i took a day off work). When the table arrived it was damaged, very poor quality veener all peeling and chips in the legs, the delivery driver wouldnt take it back. At the end of december (xmas day in fact) i sent a stinking email as when we extended the table for lunch more flakings were found. I heard nothing but then then mid Jan they sent someone out to look at it to try and repair it (What! i wanted a new table but went along with it ). The guy came and said he could repair but it would be obvious, Harveys asked if we wanted a replacement table and i said yes. I had to wait five weeks for that and yesterday after taking another day off work a new table arrived DAMAGED in fact worse than the first. Of course i got on the phone and its like im right back at the start, the guy said i dont know what you expect me to do, we wont refund you, theres no manager around, its a twelve week wait on that table even if they agree to replace it again. What can i do this is just so stressful and ive already used three holidays to arrange deliverys, etc Not sure if it makes a difference but i paid on my credit card
  18. thanks for your reply. Im fuming with myself for letting them sort it after the holiday, think they have had work done to theirs as the bumper has been put back on properly and a the scratches have disappeared.
  19. Hi guys I was parked at my mums house and had gone in the house when we heard a bang. The neighbour came to the door and said sorry mate ive reversed into your car. I have known the neighbours for over 20 years he took responsibility and said rather than go thru insurance get a quote and i will pay it. Got quotes of £700 ( needs new bumper, light and boot appears to be twisted). Now they are refusing to pay it saying they will get a mechanic to look at it not a bodywork place as its way too much! I purposly didnt go to the main dealer as i know parts are dear, got 3 local quotes all around same price and now they are refusing to pay. Even waited 2 weeks now whilst they have been on holiday! I have a witness that said he reversed at speed but they say damage is proportional and as there is nothing on his car so the damage was already there. What can i do ?????????????
