  1. You've admitted allowing 3rd parties access to your router and had no idea what they were doing with your connection (although he may have been checking email). You should have just denied all knowledge of any one using it as this just opens you up to further questioning.
  2. Depends what he wanted to use it for. I certainly wouldnt hand it out to all and sundry. I'd change the WEP key periodically too.
  3. You've authorised him to use your connection, therefore it's unsecure. Authorising others to use it is just asking for trouble.
  4. You've admitted yourself your mate pulled up outside and used it. More fool you if you allow others access to your network. You're just asking for trouble.
  5. WEP is easy to hack if you know what you are doing and have the right tools. It's doubtful non pc savvy people could hack it. What sort of friends are yours if they are using their IT skills to hack your network?
  6. Dear Simon Please feel free to keep clutching at straws in a vain attempt to give your cases some merit. In the meantime please take on board that it is very easy for the security recommended by the ISPs to be cracked. I know the cold hard facts are of no interest to you but I feel you have shown a lack of understanding surrounding the above process and thus a requirement to be be furnished with the above was evident. Thanks
  7. I very much doubt they'll be stewing. They'll not have given it a 2nd thought. They'll have just logged who they sent letters to and will check at a later date who has replied and who hasn't and act accordingly.
  8. You think he'll care about your questions? You think he'll furnish you with a reply other than ignore what you've said and send another begging letter? You're not going to score points with him as he simply doesnt care. You're wasting your time replying after the 1st LOD.
  9. I wouldn't even bother replying to the 2nd letter. You've stated your position and entering into dialogue with them only encourages them to continue harrassing you. A simple 1st letter of denial stating your position is all that is required unless you like wasting your own time.
  10. I'd suggest first of all you get your story straight. So did you phone them or not? It's difficult for people to help if they're struggling with the facts.
  11. There's nothing makes your pc look tampered with like a bit of disk cleaning software on it does. Sets alarm bells ringing straight away.
  12. This is incorrect. The IP adddress they indicate is the IP address assigned to you by your ISP and as such will be your routers public address.
