You know I would not mind if it was open university at least I know the materials will be good and there will be support. I'd love to take the course up with open Uni if they did similar thing and a degree is so worth it. However its unlikely they will go to open university we signed for a particular qualification and they will find a provider that does it, not a degree :'(

Now I am feeling completely insecure about any of these providers. I want to do my studies at a Manchester college. I know they got no where to run and they wont be packing bags and fleeing the country. I bet the directors are somewhere nice outside the UK, they probably are living it up with the millions, as there is no way in hell those books and a few trainer costs with the building broke them. I doubt they are gonna get caught as any sense would say leave the UK.

I have not bothered taking any action just yet. I am observing and playing the waiting game till more light shines on this matter. Without knowing how Barclays are going to respond and the decision yet to be made I am still no better from getting this resolved. Until they decide on a action, I can't make a reaction. For all we know they will just hand us our money back nicely without it getting nasty realizing they are heavily in breach of contract if they fob us of to a less than adequate alternative provider.

As far as I can see we are in the dark still. I wish a governing body or something would step up to take up the fight for the people! We work hard and ger scammed just as hard. I was told not to join Advent by 2 people and now I feel like a idiot for not listening. I hope there will something coming out of this where I can get my money back. If they switch me to another IT provider I would expect to have the same promises made by Advent. If not I want to do some kind of rally outside one of their bigger branches and a epic protest!!!! I live in Manchester for those interested in wanting to protest in the Manchester area outside Barclays. It will give them a lot more bad publicity and catch their attention! but thats if theres enough of us XD

Hi I live in manchester I recieved that same dodgy email. I paid £1000 straight up to the rep, which was a years and a half worth of saving for me. Then the rest of it was taken on a Barclays Loan. I don't even know where my wife has stashed the paperwork for the contract with them. I am freaking as I only have a crappy low income job that pays 700-800 pounds per month. I was struggling heavily with finances previously. I wish I knew what was happening. I just want my money back to goto Manchester College now and finish the same A+ coarse in a class based enviroment once per week. I can't afford not to finish my studies. I have also got a big chance of getting a IT Field technician job provided within the company I already work for. Everything I had was riding on this, I did not care if I could not finish the entire thing as long as I gave 100% but all those hours where for naught! I hope Barclays contacts me soon so I can get something from them, and also this so called insolvency guy they emailed me with to get my £1000 or at least something so I can get my qualification. I'm so close to the job and yet so far.
