HI Guys, I just found us again via a google search. I know this thread is old but I just wantd to let you know that at the time of posting this. I was just told by someone in Scotland " Sky never do credit checks" I am in an IVA and I just got broadband and phone for £27 a month Sky also have a clause built in when you sign up (and it's visable and transparent) that if you don't get near to the top end of the estimated speed you can , without penalty, terminate your contract within 3 months (all services) And I believe that's more flexibility than VM could ever give!.

Well I paid the fee. Had the checks done. Paid the first 6 months rent and I am in there. Job done.

No idea what it is. But the tennant was already there and moving out. And there was a decorator in there too so it was mayhem! But I want to take it and Have paid the fee. Just waiting for the landlord to decide.

Not going to name them. What they are doing seems to be perfectly legal if not a bit unfair. WHY would they want to credit check me anyway as I have 6 months rent and it's a 6 months STA!? Oddly enough my dad IS a private landlord and he is coming along with me too. I will let you know.

The agent I am looking at want's to charge me £234! and then a months rent and a bond!. I am shocked!. WHY should we pay for a flat why not the landlord!?

I've got a different one. I am looking at a flat and the agent wants to charge me £234 to do a credit check and reference check. I then have to pay a months rent and a months bond. And this £234 is not part of it!. WHY should I pay when A. I am unemployed. B I have moved 200 miles so my old employer is all they will get and C. I have offered them 6 months rent and the bond upfront as I have that saved. And they won't play ball! It's a crummy flat! no one is falling over themselves to view it. Could this be why!?

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately it's not possible to keep the repayments up. I have tried even with housemates but it's not possible to cover the amounts and due to circumstances out of my control and forced on to me by others I cant be around to look after the house. so It has to go. Payments have already stopped. I literally have the clothes on my back. I am homeless with a temporary address at my family.

Sorry. I will try to be clearer. Bought house in 2007 for £89.950. Mortgage of £76k. Welcome loan was 25K but now 13K secured on house. House prices in area falling. House would probably get 70K if lucky. so with welcome loan will be around 20K owing. Other debts bring it to well over 30K if you take my ex wife's debts into account too. ( well soon to be ex wife) We took lifecover 24 each but no PPI. When house is gone WF say they will still chase me for the debt. They want my ex's address and work details but I told them to go through her divorce solicitor as I am having to. They insisted they want my solicitors details too but I am doing a Solicitor Managed divorce so they don't need to know that and as far as I know I don't need a solicitor in order to declare bankrupcy or go into an IVA.

The welcome loan is 13K at the last stand. Reposession has not started yet but based on the fact my ex wife hasen't paid a penny in years and I can no longer afford it even with rented help the Reposession is imminent. The house is currently stood empty and I have agreed to hand the keys back on a certain date unless my ex steps in to save it. They have not defaulted me in law yet but it's going to happen. After the house has been Reposessed and sold I/(we) will owe around 30K. Now my ex is unlikely to be able to afford anything and I have had to leave my job and the house for circumstances beyond my control thus I have no job right now. I am likely to go into an IVA or even Bankruptcy at some point in the next few months.

Point taken. However I can only say he is calling from WF. He might not be. I am typing this from David Camerons bedside laptop, do you believe me just because I said it!? I have sent them a fax asking for everything to be done in Writing. His attitude sucked and he said to me " well even with the house gone you can't escape your debt" I have no wish to escape my debt. ALL I want is someone to talk to me without agression in their voice. No the house has not been repossed yet but that's just a matter of time. neither me or my ex wife (whos also named on the loan) can afford it. Welcome even had her name wrong on the loan so it shows how much attention to detail they have! I have also contacted BT and barred the numbers I have been given (the one given was different to the one on the caller display) but there could be many more who knows. He made me feel very upset when he had done with me and got very personal. A breach of the Telecommunications Act I believe. We will see.

Hello, Has anyone else had dealings with someone called "Andy" at WF? I have for the past year been trying to keep my house afloat but this has failed. My soon to be ex wife has paid nothing. I have now had to give in and the house is in Limbo until it is reposessed. Andy (who has always been polite in the past) is now calling and being very rude and threatening. I know this is a tactic to scare me and they can quite frankly kiss my ass. I am facing bankrupcy due to the amount of debt that is owed. I am wondering if he has bought the debt? Or if welcome are actually allowing their staff to start being offensive? I believe it to be the former because why would someone who will at the end of it probably get fired be so agressive? Are they on a bonus scheme or something? Anyone else had this and how did you deal with them? It's getting towards the point of harassment now. Thanks

I had a letter from them yesterday on my RBS account. I missed 2 payments and then the whole account was terminated. I had an arrangement with them but they even went ahead with that. When I called them all I got was a "Hello. I asked if this was McDonalds. The guy said "no" I said " well maybe you should answer saying you are Triton next time" and put the phone down Morons.. It's welcome all over again!

The funny bit being you can then claim it all back. Although I am miffed. They have done this to me and I am never missed a payment. I hope this Friday is good for us and bad for them.

Hi Billy, We have a loan currently at £14,500(ish) and let me know please if you ever get anything back from the £2000 off which is unlikely as they will continue to chase people through the lewis group I believe.

And then knowing that bunch of **** you will get a letter saying you got charged £25 for the call and £10 for the letter. Shame there isn't a way to contest these. I haven't heard from my local account manager. She was always snotty and I always used to like the fact I knew her fate.. I hope she's been sacked that should take her off her soapbox.
