I have had one of these charges on this months bill and in the past have had one of the refunded. this is my last bill with them thank goodness and am moving over to BT next week (engineer coming) the cheecky buggers also want me to pay a months in advance for a service which only has a week to run. the lady on the phone says that any over payments will be refunded. yeah right !!

another one bites the dust recieved cheque today for £331.86 with letter stating the charges where correct and will be contacting for further discussion on my account. will gladly make donation when cheque clears as i'm on the dole -
I would not close your account yet, to start with write them a nice letter (see letter templates)with details of all your charges i believe that you can only go back 6 years. they will send you back back a standard letter saying that the charges are correct. then ask again using second letter. then persue the case through the courts (there is also some useful info on the govan law center website to look aswell) good luck

dont forget when you all claim in the courts to add the £10 on the amount that you are owed

I sent in 3 or 4 letters and have now issued a claim through the courts . seem like there getting tougher good luck

did you go to court as i am being contested by A&L if so what was the outcome

I have sent letters to the A&L and got all the standard replies.right up to the piont of issuing with court claim which was delivered last week , recieved a copy of letter they sent back to court saying that they will be contesting the claim . which is for just over 300 quid has any one else had this reply yet. please help:confused:

mine has been 40 days plus i sent them a letter reminding them they must have been overwhelmed with letters at the same time after the tv programme mine should arrive soon i hope

When I posted my data protection letter 9th June I enclosed cheque (from same account) which was cashed 16th June which will count as proof of reciept so after 40 days I shall reply back + CC data comissioner hopfully I shall get reply by then.

I live in leicester and it was reported in the leicester mercury last nite that anyone taking action to recover charges WILL be given 30 days notice that their account will be shutdown and if you already have expect a letter in the post very soon. I sent my data request in 2 days ago and opened a new account with another bank today. bring it on A&L:evil:
