i am in Manchester and Took out a CDL for £4750 for a MCSE course.. which went up to 4950. Now i feel i have my rites to not have to pay anything due to the MCSE course i cannot do. Spoke to a woman called Angela from CDL department, she said in the agreement where you signed the contract it says "i am liable to pay even if the institute cannot provide further training" or something like that she said. which i find extremely unfair, it's a Career Development Loan, not a LOAN, you supposed to get a CAREER at end of it, thats the whole point! external link removed

We just need to be heard out, most of the high up people nowadays believe it or not, look on Youtube and Facebook and Myspace as they are the multimillion websites which do make a difference, life changing matters even! I Think there is a massive difference in the regulations of a career development loan.. they obviously covered there arse for a CDL as some woman i spoke to on the phone about my loan said that i cannot do nothing what so ever but pay it, so i was getting all ****ed off saying well due to section 75, i am not liable to pay for this as it's now void, and she says if you read the contact you will see you signed under the fine print "i will continue to pay my career development loan, even if the institute fail to provide further training" Just be lucky if you didnt get a CDL mate.

your good to go then, as they are partners so you'd probly be insured somehow, CDL with barclays, diff story altogether.... in there contract, you sign you are liable if anything goes wrong... SOOOOOO i mite just go bankrupt and **** them over and start life again in 5 yrs time.

I just phoned Midlands Today - 0121 567 6104 and they took my name and number, they said they dont know if i'd be in the writing as im from manchester which is not in the midlands what so ever.

Are you on about Career Development Loan? you got from barclays for this company what did the woman say to you?

spoken to barclays just now for my Career Development loan, she says in the bottom of that paragraph in any of the contracts with barclays, they are stated you signed in the dotted line that you are liable to pay every penny for this course even if the course FAILS to carry on.
