I've had messages from her today. She says she contacted Booking.com twice and asked them to take care of things. She seems to think she's done what she needs to.
I've sent customer services a message via my reservation confirmation on the website in the hopes that someone will have a look. I have a message trail on their site with the host, if it's ever needed.

It's worth keeping everything you've had as and when you find it.
I think the most important thing for now would be the original PCN which they say was issued on 20th April this year.

That's unusual. Is there any reason why you wouldn't have had previous correspondence?

Hello, welcome to CAG.
Is that the only correspondence you've had please? There would normally be a parking charge notice to start with, then some reminder letters before the Final Reminder.
By the way, it would be good to cover up the car reg and their reference in your attachement, to keep this anonymous.

Thanks for the response. Am I able to send you the documents I’ve received or can you message via instant message and I’ll send these?

It's better to keep advice on the open forum for everyone's benefit. Maybe you could post up the correspondence in a single pdf document and cover up your personal details, reference numbers and so on?

With Farage back in the news, here's a reminder of his interview with Claire Byrne on Irish TV a few years ago.

You're a wizard with Booking.com, Dave.
I'll wait to see if you have any joy talking to your buddy and hope you have a good catch up. Thank you for doing this.
I'm not sure the owner of this gite knows what she's doing so I'll certainly mention what you've just said about customer services. I'll wait for the result of your conversation first, though.

Hello, welcome to CAG.
I imagine the letter that the security guards talked about will be a letter from a company or lawyers who specialise in trying to extract money from shoplifters. I think Sainsbury's use DWF solicitors, otherwise it could be a company like RLP.
It won't be a 'fine', only a court can do that. Look at this as a parallel 'justice' system that doesn't involve the police. If you read around the forum for other cases of shoplifting, you'll get the idea of how this all works.
If you think your behaviour has become compulsive, we suggest having a chat with your GP who should get you help for this.

Hello, welcome to CAG.
Would you be able to show us the correspondence you have received please? Cover up your personal details and any reference numbers and we'll take a look. Our upload guide could be useful for you.
It would also be useful for you to read some other Evri threads to understand how they behave when there are problems.
If you need to sue we'll help as much as we can.

Thank you again Dave, this is all really useful. I booked directly with Bookin.com and had messages from the host.
I'll look at this further tomorrow and also contact the host again via the Booking.com website. I wonder how much experience the host has if they don't understand the website way to cancel a booking.
The message I had from the host was asking if I'd heard from Booking.com so it sounds as if they don't know what process to follow.

Thank you again.
I'm hoping it will come out in the wash and will endeavour to check my online account. I'm a bit unsettled by not hearing from Booking.com but the host is sounding helpful at the moment.

Thank you Dave.
I've had nothing from Booking.com, just a message via the site from the host.
I know I need to check my bank account, just trying to resolve some technical issues.

Can anyone help please?
A while ago I booked an apartment in France for Sunday 9th June for three nights.
Today I had a message via the site that following an unspecified problem the host has to cancel our stay. I asked about a refund of what I've paid and the host indicated I need to speak to Booking.com.
Booking.com have said that they won't charge me for the apartment but my understanding is that I've already paid in advance. Their website has a lot about what happens if the guest cancels but so far I haven't found anything about what happens if the host cancels.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm afraid it's against site rules to recommend lawyers.
You could look on the Law Society's Find a Solicitor page for local firms with the right expertise, or google nwnf lawyers in the uk, then check out reviews on social media, review websites and so on, to see how other people rate them.
If they say they don't do nwnf, I would ask if they know a firm that does.

It's a theatogram. For it to be a LoC, it has to say that as the title. From memory, it would normally come from someone with a pretend legal-sounding title, rather than the accounts department.

Is the letter headed Letter of Claim/before Claim or similar? If not, it sounds like more of the threatogram chain.
If you're not sure, post up an anonymised copy of the letter and we'll check.

The other cases aren't going to happen before November though, are they?
Reporters are saying he can't pardon himself for a state conviction. He would have to lean on the governor of New York state, as I understand it.

Hi.
I don't know if we have any social workers here, I'm afraid.
I'll flag your thread for site team member @stu007, he may be able to give you a few tips.

I would say it's snotty letter time. You can do a search on CAG for examples of what other people have sent. Don't make it too polite.
