@britishgashelp Homecare, what getting?

My boiler is an old type with big tank etc but in good condition. I am looking to join one of the Homecare services that I will be paying around £20 monthly with the mind that if my boiler breaks down etc, the energy company will replace it with the new ones that give instant hot water for free. Has anyone had similar experience in the past or has an idea of how the programs work? Thanks -
An npower sales person came to my doorstep on a Sarturday 6 months ago and after discussion, I decided to sign a contract to fix my gas and electricity for 6 months and direct debit of £40 has been taken from my account every month since then. Last weekend, I received a bill of over £1000 from npower. My question is that since I opted to fix my bill, why am I sent another bill. For over a year before I assigned with npower, I was with British gas with who I fixed my contract and I never not any extra gas. Please advise me on this.

I signed a contract with npower 5 months ago for gas and electricity and in the last 6 weeks I have got more than 2 letters that my meter needs to be inspected every 2 years. Since they have not been able to gain access , they have written that they will apply for warrant of entry. I have been with them for less than 6 months and they said the meter should be read once every 2 years, so why the hassles? Can someone please let me know what's the best thing to do in a case like this as I am not ready to be calling them on 0845 nos
