  1. Didn't even think of that! Although I check my credit report fairly regularly & I didn't have any financial associations a week ago & have been in the flat for 4 months, so I think I should be ok on that score - but definitely something to bear in mind!
  2. If that's the case, then can I tell the estate agent to take the extra £500 and keep it as the full payment for November from both of us (and then get my flat mate to give me her £500). That way I know if they fill the flat I'm not losing out financially & won't have to have a battle to get my money back. I'm not planning on skipping out on them, I want to do everything by the book. I'm just really scared that I'm going to be left out of pocket because of the selfishness of my flatmate. I just want to try & protect myself.
  3. My flatmate has gone through a lot of personal issues & wants to leave our flat at the end of November. Our contract finishes 5th January. I've told our estate agent that she wants to leave & they've said that unless they find someone to take over our flat (I was going to leave at the end of the contract, can't find someone for the remaining month and can't afford the flat myself!), we are liable to pay the last month's rent to cover December - January. I am really worried as firstly, I had a bit of money at the start of the month & consequently paid the remaining three months rent on the property. I have asked for December's rent back (£500) as it isn't due yet, & I would rather know I have it back if we're leaving in November. I'm worried they may now try to hold on to it. I am also really worried that my flatmate won't pay her half of the rent in December if the estate agent doesn't find anyone. What happens at that point? I am really worried and anxious that I am going to lose out financially in a BIG way over this. My flatmate is fairly self-involved and I don't think she'll care what happens to me and my money. I want to protect myself - but am not sure how! Any advice would be VERY gratefully received!!! Thanks in advance
  4. All you could say is that you made s illy mistake/if it was in a wallet you didn't check the card & thought it was yours?! Good luck
  5. I didn't send any evidence - basically my Oyster card didn't beep in when i thought it had when I was at a station with no barriers! So all the eivdence I had was that I had enough money on my card to pay for the entire journey. They completely ignored my letter anyway - I really would ring them first and explain your situation. I can't say it enough. They dropped my prosecution & it may not even cost you that much. If you get no joy on the phone then write in anyway & send whatever evidence you have to support your claim. But I would make sure you send copies not originals!
  6. See my thread (missylow) for what I did! When I got this, I wrote the circumstances & sent it back - they completely ignored it! And I've heard of the same thing happening to others. Seriously - my BEST advice is to contact the Prosecutions Manager (not sure where LU's Prosecutions Manager is based - but London Overground is at Camden station. If you contact them they may be able to tell you who to speak to). Call them today, explain the istuation & apologise profusely. Seriously - I worried and worried over this for months and when i called them it was sorted in a matter of minutes. In fact, the Prosecutions manager actually said, "If you'd have called sooner then we would have charged you much less". I ended up paying £182. But for peace of mind it was worth it. Good luck )
  7. I totally agree! But I'm not be prosecuted anymore ))
  8. Do you think that's the case? Would there not at least be CCJ's or something?
  9. Is it not possible to publish the link to that site on here? That way people can go to the site & read the information without breaching copywright as they would be reading the information where it was originally published? Surely no one can complain about traffic being directed to their site?!
  10. He's got the full report & the rating! The report does show all of his associated addresses spanning back years! But there's just no credit information on there! It's very weird. So if he goes on the electoral roll it should show up? Thanks!! p.s. cheeky comment re:starting family! LOL
  11. Hi, My boyfriend & I are trying to get into a position to start a family & buy a house together. Hence we want to ensure both of us have as good a credit rating as possible. My credit rating is a high "Good" and I am trying to work it up to excellent. On the other hand, my partner's credit rating is "poor". In the past he had run up a few debts with mobile companies and creit card companies and probably a few others. Recently he accessed his credit file on experian to try & get these resolved. However, there is absolutely nothing showing on this file! No debts, no CCJs, no bankruptcy or anything, so we are at a loss as to how to improve his credit rating. He can't even get the credit cards with the really high interest rates in a bid to improve it! He has applied to be on the electoral roll, but not sure what else to do. Is it possible the information is held with another company such as equifax? Or do they all hold the same information? Any advice would be gratefully received Thanks!
  12. I don't think all of this applies to London Over/Underground as they definitely were going to bring a criminal conviction against me - I think the guy's right in mentioning the warning about this mainly being for National Rail so be careful!!
  13. I do think using someone's freedom pass is one of the more serious crimes though from the research I've done..
