  1. they are letters to the bank and Sir Fred, i dont know how to upload
  2. oh dear im talking to myself..............can't be good lol can i attach copy letters iv written to bank for peeps opinion? convinced im going crazy,
  3. omg charles they are a nightmare. Im new to this too but one thing Iv learnt is that any explanation of personal circumstances is degraded and for me leaves me feeling violated. I lost my dad, my house (rented but landlord sold it) and needed surgery so had 6 weeks with no sick pay, that was 2006 and iv struggled so hard to keep up with their outrageous charges. I wish you all the luck, people on here are really knowledgeable and you can trust they have your interests at heart. Good luck
  4. update was about to transfer fund rbs to natwest to meet s/o and found they'v already taken it so overdrawn again. i am SOOOOOOOOOO p**********d off with them. Now I have cancelled both standing orders so the *** will hit the fan. This is where i want to bury my head in the sand and pretend it isnt happening, because so far i have really really tried to meet my obligations and be honest with them. Now, i know iv done the wrong thing i can see the ££££££££s mounting up, but cant think of any other way to take any control of this.
  5. thanks everyone, iv not been on for a few days so only just seen replies. 1. I def will not sign the consolidation agreement. 2 I would like to stop paying the ptl and try to get it written off. i have recieved all the statements and am horrified that the so called years payment holiday after graduation accrued £3000 interest taking the loan up to £19000 before i ever started repayments. Also strongly disagree that this was a 10year plan. i cannot pay the £1100 they are demanding unless i consolidate 3 would be happy to continue paying grad loan but if i default on ptl acc will get charges on current acc/into unauth overdraft and wont be enough to meet grad loan. Also they want 770 now for this account if i wont consolidate 4 i an applying for the £1700 charges back on curr acc 5 i moved my salary to rbs not realising they are the same group. managed to keep that acc ok but have agreed overdraft of 1000, if i move to somewhere else wont they demand overdraft back. im up to its limit but never exceeded it.
  6. ok, this is really helping thanks i have no argument with the graduate loan except that they want 770 (cant remember exact amount) arrears immediately even though i have paid an additional 600 on top of the 197p/m standing order since aug. similarly with the ptl. i can meet the standing order of 280 and have paid additional 250 into this account.but they want £1100 now. i wanted to know how this figure was arrived at so started writing to them. I said i couldnt consider consolidating without up to date and historic statements and original agreements re term/interest etc. this is how i found out they had lost the agreemnet. The current account has no overdraft facility and was £1.50 in credit until they withdrew the £5 statement fee, despite me sending them £15 for this purpose. tomorrow, payday i pay enough in to cover standing orders. the £1700 charges has been paid already.
  7. no rory we rent, we were on benefits when i went to university, age 40 with 3 children. we didnt have bank accounts and didnt owe anybody anything. When i started uni i was forced to open an account and natwest convinced me that their professional training loan was for me as i was studying optometry. I had to rent a room during the week and pay for our family home. I needed everything that i borrowed to live on for three years. the 4th year of optometry is in practice when i earnt 8,000 so this is when i took out the graduate loan, also we had to move. we have had to move 4 times in 4 years. i wish that i hadnt done the course natwest own me and rent is 900p/m hubby working now so we are affording our commitments but continual harassment from natwest depressing me so much.
  8. uhm i was thinking about trying to get it written off, although i know i do owe them. it seems unreasonable though to have arrears on loans and £1700 charges when on a monthly basis enough money was paid in to cover loans just on the wrong day. im convinced the ptl was not for 10 years, i cant remember how much it was originally, i thought £15,000 but iv paid 16000 already and still 13000 outstanding. i thought i was being clever and changed account last year however it was to rbs. They are being ok but dont know NatWest situation. found out that they are the same people?? basically they (natwest) are harassing me to return the consolidation agreement but im really wary of taking on another 72month commitment. they say that they will take me to court for the loan arrears unless i agree to the consolidation
  9. thanks silver and rory, really grateful for your time. they said £5 per account and it would take three weeks. Sent 3 x £5 and recieved current account statement showing theyd withdrawn another £5, making me overdrawn. I have refused to deal with them by phone as never any record of conversations and just lie to me, also difficult at work to have meaningful conversations. So everything is in writing including the loss of my original loan agreement. Do I pursue charges, cancel standing order for PTL or both. When I got in a mess life was dreadful, new job, landlord selling house, my dad died and i had an operation requiring 6 weeks off work. Also had dispute with previous landlady and lost £800 deposit. I told natwest all this but they were indifferent. Sorry to whinge, obviously im not alone in having these problems. Thanks again
  10. hi nattie i sent 3x£5 postal orders to obtain my statements for 3 accounts and recieved 1 current account statement with one transaction on it. £5 withdrawn for historical statements making me £3.50 overdrawn. I love them
  11. thanks so much trilby, i really need idiot proof guidance, tried to follow some threads but slight differences in each situation, i quickly lose the plot Thanks again
  12. I have 3 acc's with NatWest. Current plus, graduate loan acc and a Professional Training Loan. Curr acc got into probs last yr, new job paid by cheque funds not clearing in time to meet s/orders to loan acc's. Current acc incurred £1700 charges in 12 months and loans unpaid for approx 4months, thus charges/int on loan acc's. The PTL I have paid reg since 2003, apart from these missing months. The grad loan since 2004. Since aug 08 i have paid additional money into loan acc's as well as the s/orders. Out of the blue I got a consolidation loan agreement in the post to sign, this for another 72 months term. I wrote three letters asking for historic transactions/charges/copies of original loan agreements, also why PPI hadnt helped me. Got a reply saying this would cost £5 on each acc. Sent 3 £5 p/orders and asked for info again. Eventually, got a reply saying that PTL agreement is lost, but it is £1118 in arrears, they think it ends in 2013 but I believe it was originally 72months term and iv been paying since 2003. Still no c/acc statements but £5charges for hist statements.Got copy of grad loan and they say this is 770 in arrears. REALLY confused, help??
