  1. I am only annoyed as they were not cheap and I have not had a problem with any other pieces of my golf equipment. I understand what you are saying but this year I don't think I have played on one rainy day since receiving the replacement although in the morning you still play on the dew on the grass. If I am being honest I would say it is a design flaw with my limited knowledge of designing of golf eqipment. As below this is how the golf club is actually designed; I think the way it is not sealed leaves water that is impossible to get to as I have even tried a hairdryer to get it out. Also weight is leant to the fact there is no problem with the Sand Wedge in either of my sets which coincidently is the only club not to have shown any rust.
  2. They are still named Irons as that was what they commonly consisted of but with new technology most golf Irons are Forged Steel, especially the more pricey equipment.
  3. Well the Iron heads which have rusted are composed of stainless steel plasma and 455 carpenter steel used due to their non corrosive ablilites. Used also in aero planes and space shuttles. 455 - ASM Material Data Sheet Stainless steel - Stainless steel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And you are trying to tell me their are no defects with the Irons themselves even if I tell you they have been immaculately looked after like all my other golf equipment which I have not had problems with? The stainless steel composition is 17-4 also.
  4. Why would they rust? They are not of satisfactory quality if two separate sets of the same Irons rusted both within a year. I play with people who have had the same sets for 15 years without problem.
  5. In April 2008 I bought a nice new, shiny set of Nicklaus High ct golf Irons from American Golf fro the grand sum of £500. They came with a 1 year manufacturers guarantee as well as another added year on top by American Golf themselves(as standard). They developed rust on most of the club heads within that year so I took them back in February this year. The store sent them away to be looked at and a few days later I was given a replacement set. Now I find myself in November 9 months from being replaced and there are little rust spots returning on the head of the clubs again. Now what am I supposed to do in this situation as looking around for information there seems to be a common saying that you can only reject them with in a reasonable amount of time(generally a few weeks) but surely 10 months is a reasonable time especially given that they are still guaranteed by AG. As golf clubs at that price, should really be lasting upwards fo 10 years in my opinion. I have an old cheap set bought for £100 and they are still fine even 5 years from being bought at a fraction of the price. What should I do and what would I be entitled to? As there is an inherent fault in the actual product it would seem. Thanks for any help.
  6. Yeah the V5 documentation was all sent away so legally she was not the owner nor registered keeper at the time of the offences. That's why don't understand why the DVLA would still give out the old details.
  7. Just a private sale but it was actually to my mum who took it as she had just come back from living in Spain and needed a car.
  8. She just ignored them until I pulled her up for it, she likes to bury her head with theses sort of things. What would a copy of change of ownership be as we have not got the V5 anymore as it was sent away. So no idea how to prove it?
  9. Hi, My missus recently received a Final Demand for payment from a debt recovery firm telling her to pay a parking fine picked up on 25/05/09 but she had already sold the car on 1/4/09 and actually got a ticket the day of the sale which was paid but since then she has received two notice to owner letters with one resulting in this final demand letter. She has written to both the council and the debt collectors(today) but as yet received nothing back. What should she do?
  10. Jimmy (goods manufacturer/supplier) is angry with Asdad's (buys goods from Jimmy) attitude and has decided to cancel all existing contracts with them and refuses to have any dealings with them in the future. What would be the legal position on this? Could it be a case of Acceptilation and Discharge? Whereby Jimmy releases Asdad from their obligation(paying for the goods) but ultimately relieves himself of his own obligation? I don't really think so. I think Asdad could sue for non-performance of any existing contract held between the two parties due to Jimmy not performing his part of the contract. Asdad could sue for loss of earnings from the existing contract but would he still have to prove he tried to minimise the losses of this contratc by finding another supplier? Help please this one should be simple but cannot make a definite answer.
  11. She or her sister who also work there have never been issued with a contract.
  12. How would I word a letter to her employers telling them this? And how they are and have been denying their employees these rights for the past 5-6 years?
  13. Is that not what 'Rolled-up holiday pay' is though? A way of Agencies getting around the fact workers are entitled to holidays?
  14. Looking for help on writing a letter to my other halfs work and other snippets of help I can get from you guys in the know. The situation is my girlfriend has worked for this company(she says they are and agency, they do care work, but I don't know how you would class them as an agency?) for over 6 years. Currently and averagely she does around 50 hours per week usually getting around £1500 before deductions every month. Now the people that work for this company have been told(not exclusively from what I know but she tells me no-one gets it) they are not entitled to holiday pay but until recently(around a year ago) they would take money from her wages and keep it(as holiday pay to give her) and give it to her when she later asked for her holiday money. Now I am pretty sure that this is 'rolled-up holiday pay' which was pretty much outlawed by a European Court of Justice ruling around 2006? Now if they have still been doing this up until only a year ago that seems pretty serious? The fact she doesn't receive holiday pay also for all the time that she has worked there apart from the excuse Agencies used with 'rolled-up holiday pay'. I want to write a letter to her employers outlining the seriousness of this all but have no idea how to put it and what would the consequences be to them? Should it be reported? To who? What to do about it? etc... Now the letter could you guys give me some sort of ideas what to write and how to write it.(She is pretty scared and doesn't want them to know it is anything to do with her so was going to do it anonymously). Your help and advice is very much appreciated. Cheers Stuart WIlson
  15. Last week on Friday I was not paid any wages when I asked at the work why I was told no one was getting paid as the money was not there and not to come in to work this week in case they couldn't get the money again for this week. So still not received any money from last week and the work have not phoned or contacted me to say what is going on although I know there are still a few people still going into work albeit directors. As far as I am aware all the rest of the other workers like me have not been paid some in cases for 2 weeks wages up until last week. I only work part-time for 14hors and go to college so I am left with no money until my student loan which doesn't go in until 5th April. What are my rights and what can I do about this? PS. I was also top be paid 6 full days which I accrued last year as holiday but as yet not been paid due to the work having financial problems. I was told I would not lose these by the boss and that he would pay me in cash and still like me in work instead of taking them off. that was at the beginning of December with new holiday year starting on January 1st. Could I claim for this plus this years accrued holiday aswell as redundancy through the small claims court? Cheers.
  16. Ultimately though it is still a fundamental change to my original contract, which stated I give two weeks notice. Any thoughts? Ideas?
  17. I have worked for my employer for nearly 2 years and had signed a contract whilst full time, but since September this year I went part time as I had started college but have signed no new contract with these working times/hours changes and was wondering whether my initial contract would still cover me now? I don't think it would which would work out better as they are trying to screw me over regarding holidays so I am looking to possibly resign tomorrow giving one weeks notice as I am no longer under contract which would mean I would get paid for my accrued holidays this year. Thanks in advance of any information/advice. Cheers. Stuart Wilson
  18. we had 20 days to play with at our own discretion of which 3 were to be kept or assigned to the Christmas week for the days running up to Christmas(we usually work up to boxing day). So having worked up until end of August f/t then going part time what would my entitlement be regarding full days pay(of holiday entitlement)?
  19. Have tried that but offers nothing conclusive to my case, of going f/t to p/t.
  20. Having trouble with the work regarding holidays and finding out what I am entitled to? I have been there for nearly 2 years, and up until end of August I was full time(40hrs 5days) now started going to college so my hours are down to 14hrs over 3 days. Our leave year starts in January to December although there is nothing in the contract about this but given the fact we were made to sign off 3 days at the start of the year for the Christmas week, on same contract for those days specified how many that would leave us with, which was 17. Anyhow I have worked almost 9 months of this year as full time yet I only took 6 days off in that time, now since then been working part time but feel I am being mugged off about what they say I am entitled to saying 6 days at first then saying no it will be done part time etc.... I have phoned CAB and they don't know what the answer is. They were concerned about something whereby if you move from f/t to p/t you lose holiday entitlement built up whilst f/t, which is very concerning. So any help would be much appreciated. So please help me!
  21. Take it back saying you bought it for someone and it turned out to be the wrong size, then say you will come back with said person to purchase it etc...
  22. Had the tag in question displayed a price of say £25 I very much doubt she would have taken out the tag but instead proceeded to the counter and look to pay the price on said tag?Just a thought, no?
