  1. Well, whaddya know Just when you think it's all over...... Is this, therefore, really the FINAL opportunity ?
  2. three months have passed - proof enough they have both (Euro Carparks and G24) given up. My advice would be IGNORE EVERYTHING
  3. this is all good practice and makes perfect sense, but is there any evidence off PPC's using anything posted here in evidence against the poster ?
  4. Ignore them. I did. I had a few threatening letters but they seem to have stopped now (after about 6months) See my example, including the letters you're likely to receive. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/parking-traffic-offences/166267-my-experience-euro-car.html
  5. mine is ignore, as I have successfully been through two PPC's processes and indeed gave up after about 6 months and many "threatening letters" see here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/parking-traffic-offences/166267-my-experience-euro-car.html
  6. ESSEX CAMERA IS BIGGEST MONEY-SPINNER Single camera said to be making £1m a year A speed camera in Essex has been named as the biggest money maker in the UK. The notorious Gatso, on the southbound carriageway of the M11 near Woodford Green Athletics Club, is believed to have generated nearly £1 million in revenue over the past year. Local people are furious that the camera has made so much money, arguing that it is not preventing accidents. Professional musician Hamish Birchall told the Waltham Forest Guardian: ‘I don’t think it follows that just because you’ve caught people going over the speed limit you have prevented accidents. It’s a scandal. 'The data suggests this camera is causing accidents but the only reason they’re keeping it up is because it makes so much money. I’ve written to the Transport Minister about it but he hasn’t replied to any of my letters.' The Highways Agency says the camera is saving lives. A spokesman said: ‘ The camera on the M11 has been successful in addressing the cluster of collisions occurring approximately 900 metres (1000 yards) south of the current camera location, which is what the camera was installed to do. 'The accident data does not show a pattern of accidents which would be consistent with the camera itself being a factor.’ The camera was also named the most money-making in the country in 2003.
  7. Government planning 30 mile network of speed cameras that follow you everywhere New caneras based on SPECS technology The Government is trialling a new generation of speed cameras that can track drivers for up to 30 miles, it has been revealed. The average speed cameras could be positioned across large areas of cities or urban areas and drivers would not be able to evade them even by making a series of turns. By covering all the entry or exit points the cameras would work out whether a driver has sped at any part of their journey. The cameras would be connected via internet lines and would calculate a car’s average speed and slowing down briefly will have no effect. There could be up to 50 cameras working together and they can be positioned more than 15 miles apart. The devises automatically read number plates and transmit data instantly to a penalty processing centre. It is understood that police trials of the new cameras have concluded successfully and further trials are due to start in Northern Ireland. The Home Office could approve the technology as early as January and the first fines could start flooding in next summer. Jim Fitzpatrick, the Road Safety Minister, said yesterday would improve congestion and save lives. ‘When the Home Office approves the equipment, I think there will be great interest among the safety-camera partnerships. They will give a more sophisticated edge to cameras than the blunt instrument we have at the moment.’ Mr Fitzpatrick said that existing pairs of average speed cameras have proved the technology works. ‘Wherever there are average-speed camera signs, the traffic moves at a uniform pace. Congestion reduces and accidents reduce.’ The Association of British Drivers disagrees, arguing that Specs3 could cause drivers to lose concentration. Brian Gregory, a founder member, said: ‘People put the car in cruise control and the mind in neutral. It’s so boring driving through these sections at a constant slow speed that people are going to drop off.’ There was talk of utilising the congestion charge cameras in london to do the same, if you enter and exit at too high an average speed, you'll be prosecuted.
  8. Be aware that some of the letters can look quite serious and threatening, bleating on about court, bailiffs, credit rating etc...
  9. I wouldn't, and didn't bother replying to the two private parking "invoices" I received last year. Having read many posts about the same issue, my conclusion was that no matter what you write it will be ignored and they will continue with their process of threatening letters... I ignored them all, and to date, two months has passed without contact from them. see here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/parking-traffic-offences/166267-my-experience-euro-car.html
  10. Well G4 are coming close to this, as seen on one of the documents they sent me. Clearly Fraud by false representation ??
  11. The council suggested it, a proper yellow enforceable line they said ? That said...still looking for any pointers for the current situation and the legal standing getting vehicles ticketed/removed.. ?
  12. Ultimately I could have a yellow line put accross, which would indeed stop anyone, including me, parking there (legally) I guess what I'm looking for is what my position is when this happens again and the BiB say no offence is being committed... Perhaps in future I won't be so reasonable and just yes I need/want to drive my car NOW so get it shifted !!!! (There is a usually unused disabled bay in front, suppose without damage I could move it into there with my trolley jack )
  13. Exactly what I thought the offence was, but not sure why the reluctance to even issue a ticket (it was cold out ) If I know I'll be out late, I do sometimes put a cone out, to ensure I have access back into the garage. But I only call them when I decide that the vehicle is not there with my blessing. I also believe that there is no offence committed if there is no vehicle in the garage or on the drive-way to be blocked in ? So, how would it be determined if an offence were being committed if they can't see into the garage ?
  14. you may find some comfort in my post (includes CCS colect) http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/parking-traffic-offences/166267-my-experience-euro-car.html
  15. As happens on the odd occasion, someone decides to park across my driveway (dropped kerb, double gates with "NO PARKING" sign and garage behind)... If I don't know the car I usually give it a few hours and they eventually go.... However, about 9pm one night, someone decided to park there all night. I called the police at about 11pm (giving it a couple of hours) and they said it was not registered locally so not an easy knock on the door. They would inform the local station. About 2am, I get a call from the BiB, they drove past, saw the car there but they cannot do anything, at least not until I need my car, and then could be MANY hours before they can get it towed... LUCKILY, i was off work the following day, as I would normally need my car about 6am. This happened before. and the police issued tickets and said they need to do this before it can be towed and that if I needed access to call back and they would proceed in getting it towed. Now, my job can involve me being called into work (24hrs). So could cause me severe delay, if called in, in the early hours. I've never yet needed one to be towed, as I am very reasonable. If I really don't need my car or can work around not using it I will. I pointed out to the BiB the other night that "usually" a ticket is issued, as it's supposedly a prerequisite for then getting a vehicle towed (it is also an expensive reminder for the owner not to park there in future !) I was declined the ticket as NO OFFENCE WAS BEING COMMITTED ! ........................... Q. Is there an offence or not ? What can be done, my rights, police action etc... Thanks. P.S. There is no yellow line across the dropped curb (just a white line, designating the drive-way). I dont want a yellow line as previously suggested by the BiB, as then NO ONE could park there, i.e. my wife's or son's car (which I can obviously get moved if I need garage access)
  16. Well, a month has passed and heard nothing more from either Euro Carparks or G24........
  17. In addition, and I am totally convinced this is either G24 or Euro Carparks "Phishing" for confirmation of my details and probably more importantly my phone number. Arrived in hand-written envelope... Anyone else had this, is it a new tactic on their part ? Still ignoring it all though.......
  18. Well, the saga continues with G24 Yet ANOTHER "may result in"......
  19. they included a pre-paid envelope this time. I'm taking suggestions of what to put in it an return it to them. Whatever it is, it will be returned over weight/size so they'll have to pay a fine ;-)
  20. CCS/G24 not letting up ! been away for a few days, came home to this..
  21. Within relative quick succession I had received a ticket from Euro Car Parks, and an invoice from G24 (via ANPR) Due to the comments and suggestions from this site, I ignored every subsequent letter that was sent from both. Here's what's happened thus far.... --------------------------------------------------------------------- Euro Car Parks 14th July 08 Original ticket issued on vehicle 14th Aug 08 - Received a 28 day warning 1st Sep 08 - Received letter from Euro Car Park debt collectors 15th Sep 08 Notice of an intention to make a civil claim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- G24 15th Aug 08 - Received initial £95 invoice 30th Aug 08 Received a FINAL REMINDER 26th Sep 08 - Received letter from G24's debt collectors 17th Oct 080 - G4's dept collectors telling me not to ignore them ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To date, I have received no further correspondence from either
  22. I've had this one and many more like it I just ignore them
